Chapter 65 Fu Nanyu Gets Drunk
byChapter 65: Fu Nanyu Gets Drunk
In such a situation, it was truly difficult to tell who was more startled. Lu Jingtang awkwardly scratched her head, then her face, her eyes darting around as if searching for a mouse hole.
Fu Ting was screaming internally, but the more frantic he felt, the calmer he tried to appear. He suppressed the uncontrollable twitching of his facial muscles from embarrassment and said coolly, "What's so surprising? Haven't you seen people in love before?"
Lu Jingtang instinctively let out a "wow," her mouth forming a perfect "O."
Fu Ting climbed from Lian Dingtian’s lap to the driver’s seat. Turning to see Lian Dingtian still smirking, he shot him a fierce glare and impatiently snapped, "Get lost."
He pushed the car door open and got out. David and Panda immediately jumped on him, pawing at him.
Lian Dingtian wasn't offended by the scolding. Instead, he smiled, admiring Fu Ting's neck, which was flushed with embarrassment—it made him want to take a bite.
He said, "I'll pick you up tomorrow."
Fu Ting was still a bit annoyed. If this person hadn't kept him from leaving earlier, they wouldn't have been caught. He retorted stubbornly, "I don't want to see you tomorrow."
Lian Dingtian's lips curved into a smile, and he said to himself, "See you tomorrow."
Lu Jingtang stole several glances into the car. Her second brother's partner was also very handsome, but Lian Dingtian had a wild kind of handsomeness, different from Fu Ting's upright and proper style. Indeed, the world of novels was full of handsome men.
Lian Dingtian gave her a slight nod as a greeting before driving off.
Leaving Lu Jingtang and Fu Ting alone with the two silly dogs, Fu Ting hesitated and said, "I... well..."
Lu Jingtang, afraid he might overthink, quickly raised her hand to emphatically state her position. "Second Brother, it's really nothing. Society is much more open-minded about these things now. No matter what, I support you. Even if you were dating David, I'd still support you."
Fu Ting's lips twitched a few times. There was no need to be *that* understanding.
Fu Ting, tall with long legs, covered twice the distance of Lu Jingtang's steps with each stride. She had to jog to keep up, saying, "I won't tell anyone."
Fu Ting pursed his lips indifferently. "Big Brother knows too."
Fu Nanyu knew too! Upon hearing this, Lu Jingtang's ears immediately perked up. She had been thinking that such gossip, with no one to share it with, was truly one of life's great regrets.
Her gaze swept over Fu Ting's shapely backside, and she leaned in again, raising a finger with hopeful eyes. "Second Brother, can I ask you a question?"
Fu Ting knew exactly what she was thinking. His handsome face flushed, and he said in a gruff voice, "No!"
Case closed—he was a bottom.
Only those who were bottoms cared about being asked their role.
Lu Jingtang feigned disappointment with an "uh-huh." "Alright, if you don't want me to ask, I won't."
But Fu Ting strode forward, practically steaming, as if afraid she'd ask again. He clenched his buttocks and walked swiftly.
David and Panda initially chased after him but, halfway there, noticed the setting sun and turned back, accompanying Lu Jingtang as she slowly walked back to the villa.
Today, Lu Jingtang was especially looking forward to Fu Nanyu coming home from work. Unfortunately, Fu Nanyu called to say he had an unexpected dinner engagement and wouldn't be home for dinner.
Lu Jingtang felt a little disappointed but went about her own business.
At 10 p.m., Fu Nanyu finally returned home under the cover of night. The rest of the family was still in the living room, the TV on. Though no one was really watching, being together as a family, even while doing their own things, felt comfortable.
Seeing him return, Lu Jingtang peeked out from behind the sofa, her eyes clear. "Big Brother is back."
Fu Nanyu looked at her for a few seconds, his eyes slightly glazed with drink, the corners of his lips curving up slightly. He hummed in acknowledgment and bent down to change his shoes.
Ye Xixi asked a few concerned questions before urging him to go upstairs to shower and rest.
Lu Jingtang wasn't sure if it was her imagination, but she felt like Fu Nanyu glanced at her several times before heading upstairs.
Fu Nanyu returned to his room and sat on the edge of the bed, still wearing his suit jacket. The collar of his shirt underneath was loose, half-revealing his chest, flushed from the alcohol.
He leaned on the bed, tilting his head back slightly to ease his fatigue. Thinking of someone downstairs, he felt a pang of disappointment.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. He hadn't closed it properly earlier, leaving a crack, but the person outside showed no intention of invading his privacy, knocking politely.
His voice was hoarse as he asked softly, "What is it?"
Then came Lu Jingtang's voice from outside, "Big Brother, are you okay? I made you some honey water."
Downstairs, Lu Jingtang had already noticed the strong smell of alcohol on him and thought he seemed a bit drunk.
Remembering how Fu Nanyu always looked out for her, Lu Jingtang felt it was necessary to show her concern, so she brought the honey water upstairs.
"I'll leave it by the door..." Before she could finish, Fu Nanyu interrupted her, his voice urgent and heavy. "Come in."
He added, "Come in, okay?"
Lu Jingtang was momentarily stunned, then instinctively pushed the door open in a daze.
As the door opened, she saw Fu Nanyu sitting on the bed, looking toward her. His long legs, encased in suit pants, were strikingly noticeable. His usually deep eyes now seemed hazy and distant, his face wearing an indescribable smile as he stared intently at the doorway.
The smile sent chills down Lu Jingtang's spine. At this moment, Fu Nanyu didn't seem like a person but rather a beast lying in wait, ready to devour and plunder, while she was the trembling rabbit.
Fu Nanyu's voice was low and somewhat seductive, making her heart tremble. "Hmm? Why aren't you coming over?"
Lu Jingtang shuffled forward step by step. She had once seen a colleague's husband drunk and violent, wielding a knife and beating her colleague—it was terrifying.
