Chapter 72 Don’t Mind Kissing You Here
byChapter 72: Wouldn't Mind Kissing You Right Here
The night before leaving home, Lu Jingtang had another steamy dream. This time, the setting was still Fu Nanyu’s room. With her legs wrapped around Mr. Bracelet’s waist, she tilted her head back, breathless and dizzy from kissing. As the scene shifted, she caught a glimpse of her own hand—with nails neatly trimmed by Fu Nanyu—holding something terrifying…
Then she woke up.
Lu Jingtang’s eyes snapped open. She sprawled out like a starfish on the bed and let out a cold, expressionless laugh toward the ceiling.
She hadn’t even gotten a clear look at the bracelet, but she’d already seen "the bird" (male anatomy). This proved that Mr. Bracelet wasn’t real—just her imagination.
Another day feeling drained. Thankfully, she was leaving soon, or she’d be completely depleted.
During breakfast, Fu Nanyu sat across from her and glanced up. “Are you so excited about leaving that you’ve even developed dark circles?”
Lu Jingtang rubbed her face like a squirrel and muttered a classic line, “Kidney deficiency sometimes comes from mental exhaustion… when he’s good, I’m good too.” (This is a reference to a popular Chinese advertisement for a male health supplement, implying that if a man is "good" or healthy, his partner will also be "good" or happy.)
Fu Nanyu: “…”
After breakfast, Ye Xixi had someone carry her luggage to the yard and reminded Lu Jingtang to stay safe outside and remember to message home.
Lu Jingtang raised both hands in assurance. “I’ll take good care of myself.”
She glanced around, looking for Fu Nanyu to say goodbye, but he had already disappeared—probably off to work. Her excitement instantly faded.
Feeling a little down, she trudged out of the yard with Fu Xiaqing and his wife, only to find Fu Nanyu loading her suitcase into the trunk.
So, Little Fu was her unexpected prince.
Her eyes sparkling, she slid over and said lightly, “Big brother, I thought you’d already left.”
Fu Nanyu let out an ambiguous scoff. “With that little courage, how dare you even think of running away?”
Lu Jingtang didn’t understand. “I wasn’t running just now.”
“What are you two talking about? Hurry up and get in the car—don’t miss your flight.” Fu Xiaqing was even more confused by their chatter. He turned to Fu Nanyu and added, “Nanyu, remember to watch your sister go through security before you leave.”
Fu Nanyu fastened his seatbelt. “Got it.”
Lu Jingtang sat in the passenger seat, leaning halfway out the window to wave. “I’m heading off now! Take care while I’m away.”
Suddenly, a hand wrapped around her waist, gripping her tightly enough that the veins on its back stood out. The heat from his palm burned through the thin fabric, startling her. She turned to Fu Nanyu. “Big brother?”
Fu Nanyu’s voice was cold and low. “Lu Jingtang, who taught you to sit in a car like that?!”
Her face squished by Fu Nanyu, she hadn’t expected such a scolding right before parting.
But she knew he was only harsh because he cared. Realizing her mistake, she quickly pulled her head back inside.
Throughout the ride, she kept stealing glances at him, completely unaware that her timid expression resembled an elementary school student who’d upset a parent.
Fu Nanyu barely held back a smile, set on teaching her a lesson, and didn’t speak to her the entire way.
When they reached the airport, Fu Nanyu helped her with her luggage. Lu Jingtang followed cautiously beside him as hurried passengers dragged their suitcases recklessly, bumping into others without a care.
Lu Jingtang nearly got knocked over, but Fu Nanyu pulled her close just in time. Holding her hand, he said quietly, “Stick close to me.”
She looked up at him. “Big brother, you’re not mad anymore?”
“I won’t be if you’ve learned your lesson,” Fu Nanyu replied, glancing down at her.
Lu Jingtang quickly piled on the compliments. “Big brother, you’re the best big brother in the capital.”
Not bothered by being called a “good guy,” Fu Nanyu scoffed. “I hope you’ll still think so in the future.”
Lu Jingtang declared her loyalty. “I always have and always will.”
With only 20 minutes until boarding, they skipped the VIP lounge. Several people had already recognized them and were secretly taking photos.
Fu Nanyu, accustomed to the attention, focused on his phone without paying them any mind. A few well-dressed women passed by them repeatedly.
At first, Lu Jingtang didn’t get it, wondering what they could have lost to keep searching the same spot. But when Fu Nanyu set his phone down and one of the women immediately straightened her posture, Lu Jingtang understood—they weren’t looking for lost items; they were trying to catch his attention.
Not that she judged them. As the saying goes, "A fair lady is a good match for a gentleman." If men could pursue love, why couldn’t women? There was nothing wrong with bravely chasing after what you wanted.
The boarding announcement sounded through the terminal. Fu Nanyu stood up with her luggage. “Let’s go.”
As their goodbye approached, Lu Jingtang felt a sudden loneliness. She never liked goodbyes. Since her days in the orphanage, she’d never had anyone truly important in her life—always coming and going alone.
She remembered her closest coworker when she worked at the factory, who showed up at her home on a rainy night and said, “Tangtang, I’m leaving.”
The next day, that coworker was found dead alongside her abusive husband—both had fallen from a building.
Suddenly, Fu Nanyu grabbed her wrist and pulled her into an embrace, his chin resting on her shoulder. “Lu Jingtang, I once heard that if you want someone to truly belong to you, you have to give them enough freedom. Only when they return will they truly be yours.”
Lu Jingtang understood but hesitated to believe it. She stammered, “B-Big brother… I…”
Fu Nanyu released her, pinched her cheek, and stared at her with an intense, hungry look. “But I’m not that patient. Have fun, and when you want to come home, I’ll pick you up. If you don’t understand when you return, I’ll teach you. If you still don’t get it, I’ll make sure you understand. I’m not going to wait around forever.”
Trembling with fear, Lu Jingtang stared wide-eyed, opening and closing her mouth without a sound.
Noticing her silence, Fu Nanyu frowned. “Do you understand? If not, I wouldn’t mind kissing you right here.”
Lu the dope covered her mouth and nodded vigorously.
