Chapter 82 Really in a Hurry
byChapter 82: Really in a Hurry
Lu Jingtang's hand was nestled in his, and she hurried along, clutching the pears, trying to keep pace with him. Fu Nanyu's strides were twice as long as hers, and realizing she was struggling, he unconsciously slowed his steps.
She looked up. The orange-gold light in the hotel corridor softened his silhouette. He had just finished work and was still impeccably dressed in a tailored suit, the blue diamond watch on his wrist gleaming.
His back exuded composure, each step firm and powerful, as if he were confidently striding toward a happier future, full of hope and anticipation.
Fu Nanyu took out his key card, opened the door, pushed the luggage inside, then gently pulled her in. He followed with long strides, closing the door behind him, his gaze never leaving her. His eyes were dark and intense, like a predator about to claim its prey.
Lu Jingtang's heart pounded wildly. She barely dared to breathe as he backed her, step by step, until her back met the wall. Her voice trembled slightly as she said, "Brother... I'll go make you some pear soup."
Fu Nanyu loosened his tie with one hand, the dignified and reserved aura around him softening considerably. He pulled her into his arms, their bodies pressing tightly together. "No rush. I promised to hold you."
At first, Lu Jingtang was a little stiff and unaccustomed to the closeness, but after a moment enveloped in Fu Nanyu's warmth, she obediently wrapped her arms around his shoulders and rubbed her cheek against his neck.
Fu Nanyu's heart softened, and he chuckled. "So you're a puppy, not a little deer." Puppies love to nuzzle.
Lu Jingtang nuzzled again, a hint of playful displeasure in her voice. "Big brother, puppies and humans can't fall in love. You're doomed."
"Alright, I'm doomed," Fu Nanyu accepted the conclusion cheerfully. "For the sake of all humanity, I don't mind sacrificing myself."
Lu Jingtang felt so happy she could almost float. Gathering her courage, she leaned in, stood on tiptoes, and kissed his cheek. It was the first time she had taken the initiative to claim someone.
Her lips merely brushed his cheek and pulled away, but the soft, warm touch left that patch of skin burning.
Fu Nanyu's breath hitched. He pressed her lower back, pulling her even closer, then bent down to look into her eyes. His gaze lingered longingly on her lips as his warm breath drew near...
Lu Jingtang, dazed, instinctively lifted her head to meet him, but just as they were about to kiss, Fu Nanyu suddenly raised his head and planted a kiss on her forehead. His eyes shimmered with faint amusement, his voice slightly hoarse. "No rush. I don’t want to pass my sickness to you."
Lu Jingtang's cheeks flushed crimson. Who was in a hurry? Making it seem like she was the eager one! She gritted her teeth and stomped on his leg, then pouted unrepentantly. "I didn't mean to."
Her shoes had five-centimeter heels, and the stomp was quite powerful. Fu Nanyu's face twisted in pain, but he didn't let her go. "You learned that move from David, didn't you?"
That David guy threw his weight around at home; if anyone upset him, he’d stomp on their feet.
After their intimate moment, Fu Nanyu called his family to let them know everything was fine and sent a message to Jiang Cheng.
He didn’t reveal their relationship. He could have told them anytime, but they had just started dating, and he didn’t want too many people intruding.
He only told his family that Lu Jingtang had come to Hong Kong to visit and would return with him later. Ye Xixi didn’t ask much—Lu Jingtang had always been impulsive about traveling.
After the call, Fu Nanyu went back to the kitchen to bother her. Lu Jingtang was just ladling the pear soup when he hugged her from behind.
His nuzzling against her neck tickled, and his warm breath brushed her ear. Lu Jingtang shivered, then felt him suck on her cheek. If he couldn’t kiss her lips, it wasn’t said he couldn’t kiss her face.
Lu Jingtang's cheeks were soft and tender, like jelly. Sucking wasn’t enough—he had to give little sucks too.
Since it didn’t tickle anymore, Lu Jingtang let him continue.
She ladled out the pear soup, and Fu Nanyu brought the pot to the dining table himself. Looking at the full pot, he said with an amused smirk, "Seems like you were really in a hurry."
Lu Jingtang stood behind the kitchen island, holding the knife she’d used to cut the pears. She turned around and asked, whether truly not hearing or pretending not to, "What did you say?"
Fu Nanyu: "..."
The night view of Victoria Harbour was famous. Fu Nanyu had originally planned to take her out for a stroll after drinking the pear soup, but just as they were about to leave, he noticed the marks he’d left on Lu Jingtang’s face hadn’t faded.
Two on each cheek, one on her forehead, one on her chin, and even two clear red marks on the side of her neck—it looked like she’d been grabbed and mistreated. Quite pitiful.
Lu Jingtang stood in front of the mirror checking her face. Fu Nanyu, rarely feeling guilty, didn't dare say a word. Strangely, it used to be Lu Jingtang who was afraid of him, but now that their relationship had changed, so had their balance of power.
