    Chapter 208 Enemies as Friends?

Inside the teahouse, the aroma of tea filled the air.

Outside the window, the rain pattered softly.

Yun Mu immediately sensed the unusual atmosphere in this teahouse.

The two exchanged a glance and tacitly chose not to ask any more questions.

    Soon, hot tea was served.

Yun Mu took a sip of the tea, placed the cup back on the coaster, looked up, and smiled slightly.

    "Good tea."

The owner smiled. "Thank you for the compliment. I won't disturb your tea tasting then."

Huo Tingying lit a cigarette, reclined on the sofa, and nodded at the owner.

The owner, relieved, quickly went downstairs.

Outside, the heavy rain continued to patter, seemingly drowning out all other noises. But both men had excellent hearing and eyesight; they couldn't help but notice the suppressed sounds upstairs.

Huo Tingying glanced at Yun Mu with narrowed eyes, raised his chin slightly, and asked softly, "Want to check it out?"

Yun Mu pondered for a moment, then shook his head lightly. "We're just passing through here by chance. They probably won't make a move against us, and we have no reason to stir up trouble. After all, this is their turf."

They only brought Feng Shuo to guard the entrance.

If they were to stumble into some big shot's lair, it would be quite troublesome.

It was better to pretend they didn't know and investigate later.

The two truly acted like ordinary tourists, savoring the tea and enjoying the rain scenery until it stopped before leaving.

However, what they didn't know was that upstairs, Si Nanjue was bound to a chair with various electrical tubes inserted into him, an IV drip feeding him nutrients.

His long legs hung limply on the ground, his white shirt torn and disheveled, his long hair drenched in sweat, his face pale, and his cheeks gaunt from torture.

The sound of crisp footsteps on the wooden floor approached, and a man dressed in black sat down on the opposite sofa, sipped his tea, and sighed regretfully.

"Pity, Yun Mu was just downstairs but didn't even come up to take a look before leaving. Though, if she knew you were Yunzhe, you wouldn't have walked out of this teahouse alive."

The man set down his teacup with a crisp sound, piercing the heart.

"After all, you are mortal enemies!"

The silent Si Nanjue finally lifted his head slowly.

He stared coldly at the man hiding in the shadows, his lips curling into a sneer. "Do you think I'd believe those stories you've been spinning these past few days? Namin Continent, Yunzhe, Yun Mu? Ha!"

During this time, every time he regained consciousness, he was subjected to electric shocks and injected with a special drug.

Then, this man would come every day to tell him about the Namin Continent.

The man said calmly, "Yunzhe, do you not remember or are you afraid to remember? When did you become such a coward?"

"Coward? A coward who doesn't even dare show his face to me has the nerve to call others cowards!"

The bodyguard beside the man showed a fierce expression, wanting to step forward to teach this insolent boy a lesson.

The man raised his hand to stop him.

"I won't let you see me until you recover your memory. Once you do, you'll know who I am." The man leaned forward, glanced at the pair walking away downstairs, and chuckled. "Yun Mu left. With her abilities, there's no way she didn't know something was off with the teahouse. Yet she still left. Pity. I heard you became friends in the capital. Seems your friendship isn't so strong after all!"

"Hahaha!" The man laughed maniacally, as if remembering something amusing. "Friends? Two mortal enemies becoming friends! Hahahaha..."

"Crazy!" Si Nanjue gritted his teeth and cursed under his breath, then closed his eyes.

The man stopped laughing and gave a signal to the people around him.

A new round of torture began.

By evening, Yun Mu and Huo Tingying slowly strolled back to the hotel.

Since Huo Tingying had documents upstairs, Yun Mu waited for him downstairs.

    Unexpectedly, Wen Yi walked over.

"Miss Wen hasn't left yet," Yun Mu said, half in contempt, half in mockery. "Has Miss Wen recovered from her cold?"

Wen Yi walked closer and said calmly, "I was waiting for you."

    "For me?" Yun Mu frowned.

"Yes, I have something to tell you."

Yun Mu replied coolly, "Sorry, I have nothing to say to you."

"Are you sure? This is a secret Yun Shuiyao told me just before she died. Don't you want to know?"

    Yun Mu's eyes narrowed.

Well, if it was about Yun Shuiyao, she was indeed interested.

    "Tell me."

Wen Yi's expression carried a hint of arrogance as she smiled and said, "I said that Huo Tingying likes someone, but it's not you; you're just a substitute. Do you believe me?"

Yun Mu wanted to roll her eyes. "Is this the secret Yun Shuiyao told you?"

"You don't believe me." Wen Yi wore an expression of knowing, sneering as she laughed, "Then do you dare bet with me? I'll let you hear the answer you want with your own ears."

To be honest, Yun Mu really didn't want to bother with these petty women's tricks.

She was also certain that the woman Huo Tingying liked could only be her.

But for some reason, seeing Wen Yi's irritating smile, she suddenly felt a bit shaken.

    ...

    In the meeting room.

Huo Tingying had just picked up some documents and was about to go downstairs when he was stopped by Wen Yi.

"Mr. Huo, I carefully reviewed the initial draft of the Ruling Garden reconstruction plan you provided. I find it very innovative and would like to discuss it with you. Can we talk for a few minutes? Just a few minutes."

Huo Tingying paused, and a few minutes were fine. "Sure, make it quick."

Wen Yi opened the door of the meeting room and was about to enter, but saw Huo Tingying standing there with his hand in his pocket, saying indifferently, "No need to trouble yourself. Let's talk here."

Wen Yi was taken aback, a hint of disappointment appearing on her face. She smiled lightly, "Does Mr. Huo consider me a monster? I do admire you, but I wouldn't mix business with personal matters."

    "Then let's talk business."

"But now I suddenly don't want to talk business. Mr. Huo, may I ask you a personal question?"

Huo Tingying's eyes darkened. "Miss Wen, I have no interest in wasting time with you."

With that, he turned to leave.

Wen Yi stepped forward half a step, blocking his path.

"Mr. Huo, before I returned to the Imperial Capital, I heard that the eldest son of the Huo family is frail and rebellious, never getting close to women. I'm just curious, who was the first woman you had intimate relations with?"

    "Wasn't it Yun Mu?"

Huo Tingying's eyes suddenly darkened, and he froze.

Wen Yi observed his expression closely. Seeing him silent, she assumed she had hit a nerve and continued, "It seems that even before marrying Yun Mu, you already had a woman you liked, right?"
