Chapter 333: She Called Him Tingcheng
by 叶微摇Chapter 333: She Called Him Tingcheng
Yun Mu really did her job as a family doctor diligently, preparing medicinal porridge early in the morning.
Yi Jue walked to the dining table and sat down, looking at the dark, unappetizing medicinal porridge on the table. He tapped his fingers on the table.
"Are you asking me to eat this?"
He suspected that this woman was trying to poison him.
"Mr. Yi, this medicinal porridge is good for your health. It may not look appealing, but it tastes fine. You must finish it. I have classes this morning, so I'll head to school now."
After Yun Mu finished speaking, she pretended to be blind, fumbled for her bag, and prepared to leave.
Aunt Zhang immediately said, "Miss, since your eyes aren't convenient, why don't you wait for Mr. Yi to give you a ride?"
Yun Mu politely declined, "No need, Aunt Zhang. It would be too ostentatious if he drove me there. If rumors start spreading, I won't be able to explain myself no matter how many times I try. I have a car waiting for me. Bye."
Then, she turned and left the villa.
Yi Jue's face darkened.
This woman was ignoring him, wanting to distance herself from him? Although he had warned her yesterday not to have any ulterior motives, seeing her act like this now made him feel annoyed and extremely displeased!
He threw down the spoon, grabbed his car keys, and stormed out. His car sped out of the villa, and his gaze instinctively searched the street.
Sure enough, he soon spotted the flashy convertible sports car and the woman sitting in the passenger seat with her eyes closed.
Yi Jue narrowed his eyes, stepped on the gas, and the black luxury car roared past the red sports car.
"Damn, in a hurry to reincarnate?" Ji Ming cursed.
Yun Mu opened her eyes calmly, glanced at the license plate, and her lips curled slightly under her veil.
"A-Mu! Are you really going to work as a maid in the Yi family? Isn't he clearly bullying you?"
"I'm a family doctor," Yun Mu corrected. "And this is a transaction, not bullying."
Ji Ming, "Screw that transaction! Then come back with me, and let him lock up Ji Shu for a few more days."
"... Are you really her brother?"
"You're not her sister either. If you made a mistake, you should bear the consequences yourself. Why should you take her place?"
"I help others..."
Before Yun Mu could finish, Ji Ming slammed on the brakes, almost causing Yun Mu to hit her forehead.
"What are you doing?"
Ji Ming turned his head, "I want to ask you what you're doing. You deliberately stayed by Yi Jue's side, didn't you forget how he treated you before? He doesn't even remember you!"
"So I'm here to find out why. Was it the side effects of the antidote or was he tricked by someone?"
"The antidote was personally supervised by you; how could it have problems? In the capital, who could possibly trick him..." Ji Ming suddenly stopped, his blue eyes narrowing, "Unless... do you suspect Yunzhe?"
Yun Mu, having just regained her vision, wasn't used to the strong light and raised her hand to shield her eyes.
"I don't know. If it really was him, it makes sense. If I were with Yi Jue, the three families would be intertwined, making it impossible for Yunzhe to take control of the Yun family. But it doesn't make sense either. He had plenty of opportunities to harm Yi Jue during treatment when they were in the capital, and he didn't need to save me. If both Yi Jue and I died, the Yun family would naturally belong to him."
As she spoke, Yun Mu shook her head in confusion, "I can't figure it out, so I need to get closer to Yi Jue and understand the reason for his memory loss."
A cold glint flashed in Ji Ming's blue eyes.
Perhaps Yunzhe was after something more than just the Yun family!
And this Yi Jue might be pretending to have amnesia!
These two bastards were playing dirty. It seemed he needed to use some special means to win A-Mu over.
"Since you've made up your mind, I respect your decision. But your eyes haven't fully recovered, so I must drive you to school every day," Ji Ming said. "But you must promise me that once your eyes are better, you will take control of the Yun family again."
Why should Yunzhe, that bastard, be in charge of the Yun family when A-Mu is still alive!
Yun Mu instantly decided against telling Ji Ming that her eyesight had returned.
She had returned to the Nanming Continent and the Yun family, but in this new life, she no longer wanted to manage the Yun family. Perhaps her father adopting Yunzhe was right; Yunzhe was more suitable to be the head of the Yun family.
Ji Shu didn't come to school but sent a text message awkwardly thanking Yun Mu.
Yun Mu traded herself for her, partly because of Ji Ming's face and partly because she wanted to use this opportunity to get closer to Yi Jue.
Yes, she had changed her mind.
She thought she could remain calm upon seeing that heartless man again.
But learning that he might have forgotten her due to amnesia unsettled her.
His amnesia seemed inexplicable, and she wanted to investigate it.
Also, she had just received news that Liu Ling had never been to the capital five months ago. How did she become Yi Jue's first love?
If Yi Jue's amnesia was intentionally orchestrated, what role did Liu Ling play in it?
Yun Mu's mind was full of these questions, and after class, she took a taxi back to Yi Jue's villa without letting Ji Ming pick her up.
By evening, Yi Jue still hadn't returned. Aunt Zhang prepared a few dishes, and after Yun Mu ate, she went upstairs.
At eleven o'clock at night, the villa's lawn was illuminated by two headlights as Yi Jue got out of his car.
Mrs. Zhang stood in the foyer to take his coat. "Mr. Yi, would you like me to prepare some late-night snacks for you?"
Yi Jue’s deep gaze swept across the living room as he asked softly, "Where is she?"
"Miss went back to her room after dinner and opened a bottle of wine. I’m worried she might get drunk alone. Should you go check on her, Mr. Yi?" Mrs. Zhang whispered.
"Still drinking? She sure knows how to enjoy herself!"
Yi Jue let out a cold snort but walked toward Yun Mu’s room.
Pushing open the door, the spacious room was lit by only a dim light, creating a tranquil atmosphere.
Yi Jue glanced at the empty bed and then walked to the balcony, where he indeed saw a slender figure lying on a rocking chair, next to an empty wine bottle.
"It’s so cold outside, sleeping on the balcony and catching a chill—don’t you care about your health?"
The young girl, slightly tipsy, turned over and slept soundly.
He leaned down to look at her. The girl’s sleeping posture was gentle, her long lashes trembling slightly. The evening breeze blew gently, lifting a corner of her veil and revealing her rosy lips.
Yi Jue suddenly recalled the unexpected kiss from yesterday. Even through the veil, he had tasted the sweetness of her lips.
His heart softened, and he bent down, reaching out to scoop her up into his arms.
Holding her soft and warm body, Yi Jue felt as if the void in his heart was instantly filled.
He gently placed the girl on the soft bed, and she immediately found a comfortable position under the covers and continued sleeping.
At the same time, she stretched out her small hand like a kitten, swatting away Yi Jue’s hand, murmuring softly, "Tingcheng, stop it..."
