byOnly then did Shan Caijun become serious, though his expression was still perplexed. "Master, could you please tell me if my current girlfriend and I have a future together?"
Chu Yuening, however, shook her head immediately. "Girlfriend? You're not ready yet. How could you have one?"
"No, no," Shan Caijun grew anxious. "I really do have a girlfriend. I came to Hong Kong this time just to meet her."
As he spoke, Shan Caijun took out a couple photo from his wallet for others to see. "Look, my girlfriend is very pretty, isn't she?"
The girl in the photo was indeed attractive and charming.
Shanpo glanced at it and commented, "She does look nice."
Qiao Xin joined in and took a look too.
Lost in sweet memories, Shan Caijun happily recounted how he had met his girlfriend.
"My girlfriend and I met online on a forum. After exchanging a few messages, we shared our landline numbers."
"And, my girlfriend has the sweetest voice. The more I listened to it, the more I fell in love. Eventually, I couldn't resist the urge to pursue true love and secretly bought a ticket to Hong Kong without telling my family."
Pausing here, Shancaijun wore a troubled expression.
"But," Chu Yuening pointed out, "you found that the girlfriend you met didn't match your expectations. She couldn't answer questions about your shared memories, and her voice sounded different too, right?"
"You even gave her 10,000 yuan, but then she stopped responding, and you couldn't get in touch with her, correct?"
Shancaijun rubbed the photo of the girl on the ID card and nodded.
"She said she was seriously ill and needed money. And for my own good, she asked me to leave her and find someone else to marry."
Having listened for a while, Qiaoxing couldn't hold back any longer. "You didn't really believe her, did you?"
Chu Yuening nodded along. Could a rich second-generation heir really be that naive?
"I did," Shancaijun affirmed with conviction. "We had been in contact for almost half a year, and we would call each other on landlines from time to time. I can't believe such a kind and lovely girl would lie to me."
"She offered me a love I've never experienced from any other girl. Master, I just want your help to see if there's a chance for us to end up together. I have to find her."
"Actually," Chu Yuening spoke with gravity, hinting subtly, "the girl in the photo is not the one who was chatting with you."
"R-Really?" Shancaitian looked at the photo with mixed feelings, remembering the 10,000 yuan he had given to the girl in the picture.
"You're saying that the girl in the photo tricked me?"
Chu Yuening pondered for a moment and nodded. "You could say that."
Upon learning that he had been deceived by the girl in the photo, Shancaitian surprisingly felt relieved. He didn't seem to care about the lost 10,000 yuan; instead, he appeared content.
"So, the one who tricked me isn't my girlfriend. This girl might be my girlfriend's older sister, and she didn't want her to meet me. After all, if her sister marries someone in Malaysia, it would indeed be more difficult for them to see each other in the future."
Chu Yuening was filled with questions, feeling helpless.
How many daytime soap operas had this rich second-generation watched?
"It's not her older sister either."
"Do you genuinely wish to find this so-called girlfriend of yours?"
Shan Caijun nodded. "Of course I do."
"But she doesn't want to be found by you."
Perplexed, Shan Caijun asked, "Why?"
"Because she's insecure," Chu Yuening smiled.
"Insecure?" Shan Caijun was baffled. "You mean she's not pretty? No, I value spiritual and emotional connection more than physical appearance. Even if she were unattractive, it wouldn't matter to me."
Chu Yuening hesitated before writing down an address on a notebook, tearing the page off, and handing it to Shan Caijun. "Go to this place, and everything will become clear. But..."
She emphasized, "Be mindful of your emotions. You know you have a heart condition and shouldn't get too agitated."
Shan Caijun took the note, instinctively placing a hand over his heart as he read the address. A mix of shock and exhilaration surged within him.
Aside from his parents, no one else knew about his heart condition.
A master who could predict his heart condition would surely be able to locate his girlfriend too.
"Many thanks, Master."
Sang Caijun didn't linger and promptly settled the bill. He flagged down a taxi and left hastily.
"How can fortune-telling locate someone?"
Outside the stall, the male classmate was clearly skeptical. He nudged Qiao Xing's shoulder. "Is it really that miraculous, Bro Xing? Should we follow and check it out?"
Initially, Qiao Xing had no intention of bothering with them, but then he thought, Since I have nothing better to do, might as well see what happens.
"Let's go, let's take a look."
By then, Li Huiwen had already blended into the crowd. With her camera at the ready, she took advantage of the chaos to snap a photo of Chu Yuening. As she hesitated whether to join the others, she noticed the sign on the board stating 'Two fortunes per day'.
That meant Master Chu would only give two readings today!
"Yes! I must uncover the juiciest gossip and expose Master Chu's identity to the entire Hong Kong!"
Li Huiwen's eyes gleamed, and she promptly took out her pager to request backup from her colleagues.
Soon enough, Chu Yuening welcomed her second customer of the day.
It was a young girl.
The girl was named Du Miao. She sat down, holding hands with her friend.
Chu Yuening greeted her with a smile. "Congratulations in advance, you'll be an adult in just five minutes."
Du Miao looked utterly surprised, her fair little hand covering her mouth. Underneath her fluttering long eyelashes, her eyes were filled with astonishment. "Su Yinyin wasn't wrong, you're really accurate."
"Su Yinyin recommended you?" Chu Yuening understood.
"Yes," Du Miao replied gently with a smile. "She said you saved her life for two hundred yuan, so I came to have my fortune told too."
