    Chapter Index

Shi Boren's voice was a bit loud, drawing the attention of Zhou Fengxu, who nudged him with his military boot. Shi Boren had no choice but to clarify, "It's the main character from an anime. Nowadays, many girls like the style of 'Chibimaru,' you know?"

With that, Shi Boren lifted his chin, gesturing towards a girl who had just passed by, wearing a yellow gourd-shaped hat and a yellow doll-collar dress.

"She's dressed up like Chibimaru, isn't she?"

Zhou Fengxu, with his exceptional mind, had already connected Chibimaru to the anime's main character and then to a doll.

    The military boot nudged back.

He looked at Ning Ning and nodded. "Yes, we do."

He recalled that their company had a trading firm.

Even if there wasn't a balloon stall with dolls, they could arrange for someone to bring one over.

"Do you want to go? I'll get it for you," he offered.

Chu Yuening pondered for a moment before nodding. "Sure, let's go!"

    An hour later.

The group, having finished their meal, stood at the amusement park.

As twilight fell, the park's attractions were illuminated, the carousel rotating gently with its warm-colored running lights circling around, creating a delightful sight.

Chu Yuening and Zhou Fengxu headed to a balloon stall nearby.

A red canopy was propped up, neatly displaying several rows of balloons on top, while numerous stuffed toys were piled underneath. So many that some had fallen from the top pile to the ground.

"How about this stall?" Zhou Fengxu spotted a yellow-dressed doll with a matching hat and, having set his sights on it, asked Chu Yuening, "Do you like it?"

Chu Yuening caught sight of several Hello Kitty dolls but didn't express her preference. Instead, she nodded affirmatively, retracting her gaze, "I want one."

"Alright." Zhou Fengxu promptly took off his denim jacket, stretched his right shoulder, and approached the vendor to pay and get the gun.

The vendor wasn't tall and was bald. He fetched an air rifle from a long table behind him, grinning as he said, "You've got great taste. Believe me or not, this entire amusement park, I have the most stuffed toys here. They're of high quality and beautifully made. You'll surely love them."

Zhou Fengxu examined the air rifle and smiled, asking, "Will all the balloons pop if we shoot them?"

"Well, young man, there's a limit to boasting." The vendor had seen his fair share of braggarts, but never one like this. "Ordinary people would be impressive just hitting a row. In all my years in the balloon business, I've never seen anyone finish them all."

Zhou Fengxu remained silent. Standing outside the line, he held his gun, took a sideways aim, and fired.

All that could be heard was the popping sound of balloons bursting one after another.

Chu Yuening stood by his side. Before long, she heard many exclamations coming from behind.

    She turned around to look.

Unbeknownst to her, a crowd had gathered around the stall – elders, children, and couples alike.

They watched, amazed as the rows of balloons diminished.

"That's incredible! He's able to pop so many!"

"Mommy, I want to play too!"

"Woah, this young man has amazing aim."

Amidst the crowd, there was even a couple bickering. The girl had her hands on her hips, while the boy tried to appease her.

"You, you! You always talk big, saying you'd win me stuffed animals from the balloon shooting stall. Yet, after all that effort, you only got one! Look at that person over there!"

"Alright, alright. I'll learn from them."

Zhou Fengxu seemed to hit his targets with every shot.

Watching this, Chu Yuening couldn't help but remark, "Indeed, everyone has their forte."

She could certainly puncture balloons with flying charms, but aiming and hitting them with a gun was another story.

In no time, all the balloons hanging on the red curtain were shot down.

    The owner promptly replenished them.

This time, Zhou Fengxu turned to Chu Yuening, patting the gun. "Want to give it a try?"

Chu Yuening glanced at the balloons, then at the gun.

Lately, there had been an abundance of feng shui consultations, leaving her with little time to unwind. Blasting those balloons one by one seemed like a satisfying release!

In the next moment, Chu Yuening's eyes curved into a smile. "Let's give it a try."

"Come here, I'll show you how it feels." Zhou Fengxu took her hand and pulled her closer, handing her the gun. He then supported her right hand, checking the alignment before lowering his head and saying, "Feel the scope, yes, find the center of the balloon, and fire away."

Following his instructions, Chu Yuening pulled the trigger. With a pop, the yellow balloon inside the scope burst.

A surge of joy erupted from within her.

She tried to maintain composure, reminding herself that she was the renowned mysticism master on Temple Street.

Yet, her composed facade didn't last long.

Chu Yuening's calm demeanor quickly faded, her hands trembling in excitement. "Wow! It really popped! I've always used talismans, never a gun before!"

In her previous life, she was the cherished daughter of the Profound Sect, the most talented celestial master. From birth, she was taught numerous rules and bore the constant responsibility of monitoring the nation's destiny.

Her pastimes involved drawing talismans and formations, never anything as carefree as this.

    "Take your time."

Zhou Fengxu's spirits lifted by her smile, he lifted her right hand again. "Let's pop them one row at a time."

    Ten minutes later.

All the balloons from the second round were popped.

The bald boss stood with his mouth agape, stunned. As the last balloon burst, he manually closed his jaw that had hung open in disbelief.

Chu Yuening beamed with joy, ready to speak when a large stuffed toy was suddenly pressed into her arms.

Zhou Fengxu lowered his head slightly, warm light cascading down his back as he looked at the stall and asked, "Is there anything else you want?"

Chu Yuening glanced around and pointed at a few Hello Kitty dolls. "I want all of these."

The bald boss was on the verge of tears. Who on earth was this amazing guy before him? If they kept going like this, he'd be left with nothing but his underwear.

All the remaining Hello Kitty dolls were picked out.

As the bald boss gingerly took down the figurines, his face contorted in sorrow. "Sir, why didn't you mention your sharpshooter skills earlier? Next time, please, change stalls."

Zhou Fengxu chuckled. "I did warn you before."

He took the denim jacket and pulled out a wallet from its interior, withdrawing a wad of cash to hand over to the boss. "Keep the change."
