"Shanpo, let me help you." Chu Yuening quickly approached in two strides, taking the apple crate and heading straight for the fruit stall.
Some fruits were already scattered across the stall, while two crates of apples had been stacked on the concrete ground nearby.
Yuening placed the third crate on top of them.
The toy vendor chuckled heartily.
"Kneel, kneel, definitely kneel. When our Temple Street's divine soothsayer is on the show, how can the neighbors not show their support?" The uncle finished speaking and then looked around at everyone, "What do you all say?"
"Yes!" The others responded in unison, their faces beaming with joy.
Having helped Shanpo unload the apples from the tricycle, Chu Yuening removes her gloves.
Shanpo sat on a small stool, massaging her sore arms, and looked up. "Ning Ning, now that the shop is renovated, when do you plan to move in? I can lend a hand."
"No need," Chu Yuening said, passing the gloves to Shanpo. She crouched down to chat. "The shop arrangements are all in order. We can move in at any time. However, I'm still worried that some customers might miss us, so I plan on setting up the stall for one more day today."
"That's good." Shanpo dusted off her gloves on her arm, reflecting, "In the blink of an eye, you're able to open a shop in Temple Street. Shanpo is truly happy for you. Thankfully, the new location isn't far, just a short walk away. Otherwise, if it were further, I'd really miss you."
As she spoke, Shanpo mentioned A Hua, who was in Shenzhen, "I wonder when A Hua will return to Hong Kong."
"Meeting people is all fate. A Hua will definitely come and visit us old friends again," Chu Yuening smiled gently. Looking at the sun that had risen high, she clapped her hands and stood up, "Alright, let's open for business!"
She walked over to the dessert stall, took down the peach wood sword hanging outside the glass cabinet, then went inside to retrieve a piece of cardboard. Flipping it over, she wrote the new store's location on it and noted that the next business day would be at the new shop. She pierced a small hole in the cardboard and hung it in place, aligning it with the peach wood sword.
After hanging it up, she stepped back.
Ensuring that passersby could see it clearly, Chu Yuening nodded in satisfaction.
Since she had informed Zhang Jiande earlier that she wouldn't be able to operate the stall due to the TV appearance and asked him to put up a sign requesting leave, Brother De hadn't indicated when she would return.
The neighbors weren't aware of the exact opening time, so there weren't many people early in the morning.
Chu Yuening wasn't worried. She started by pulling out the table from under the food cart.
A boy with two enormous, panda-like dark circles under his eyes approached the dessert stall and asked, "Boss, do you have any Refreshing Brand dessert today?"
"Yes," Chu Yuening had just finished arranging the tables and chairs. Seeing someone buying dessert, she bent down to fetch a freshly laundered apron from beneath the stall and put it on. She gave the boy a glance before opening the ice cream chest.
"Having trouble staying alert?"
The boy nodded drearily. "Yes, I don't know what's wrong recently, but I always feel like my energy is depleted. Auntie Ding is my great-aunt; she said your Refreshing Brand dessert works wonders. She recommended I come try it."
Chu Yuening efficiently packed the Refreshing Brand dessert and handed it to the boy. "Fifty-one dollars for one serving. It'll help you perk up when needed, but avoid drinking it before bedtime."
Ding Tao, who was on the verge of sleep, suddenly woke up upon hearing this. He looked at Chu Yuening in curiosity.
His great-aunt had told him that Chu Ji's desserts were very popular, and they'd sell out within minutes if he didn't get there early. He planned to buy some after finishing his night shift to drink in the morning.
He was filled with astonishment, and his gloomy tone involuntarily brightened. "My great-aunt mentioned that not only are your desserts great, but your fortune-telling skills are also top-notch. Indeed, that seems to be the case."
She could tell his thoughts just by glancing at him. How powerful was that? It was simply unparalleled, cosmic, thunderous, and super potent!
Ding Tao, carrying the dessert, didn't hurry to leave. Looking around, he noticed nobody was queuing up for a fortune-telling session. Curious, he asked, "Boss, do you have time to read my fortune now?"
Chu Yuening brought out the tea set and nodded, gesturing with a sideways tilt of her head. "Two hundred for a reading. If you're satisfied, come in for the fortune-telling."
It was still early in the morning, so there was no such thing as cutting the line.
"Determine it! Absolutely determine it!" Upon hearing the price, Ding Tao's panda-like eyes lit up again. He carried his sweet soup and took a seat at the table, step by step.
First, Chu Yuening arranged the small tea set on the table and poured a pot of hot tea before sitting down.
"Same as always, start by sharing your birth date and time."
Before long, as the neighbors came out to bask in the sun, they saw their beloved Master Chu beginning her fortune-telling session and started crowding around.
In no time, the sweet soup stall was once again swarmed with people.
Chu Yuening calculated with her fingers and closely examined Ding Tao's face.
"It seems your family is quite well-off. The absence of any blemishes or scars on your forehead's sunrise and sunset points indicates that your parents are in good health. You have a younger brother, right?"
Ding Tao nodded eagerly.
It's remarkable, a master is indeed a master. With a mere calculation, they can discern the general situation of one's household.
If this weren't his first visit, he might have truly believed that Chu Yuening was familiar with his home.
Chu Yuening continued her calculations, furrowing her brow. "However, there's a slight issue. The official star in your birth chart is considered an inauspicious influence."
Ding Tao was perplexed. "Master, what do you mean by 'taboo deity'?"
"Ji refers to unfavorable elements, things one should avoid. A Ji Shen is an existence that works against the balance of the five elements in one's life. If it gains strength, it bodes ill for you, leading to obstacles in your work." Chu Yuening elucidated, then continued, "Fortunately, your robust Day Master can restrain the influence of the official star, so there aren't significant problems."
Ding Tao exhaled deeply, feeling a great sense of relief.
