Guang Deye slipped into a coma due to his severe injuries.
A Shu's expression drastically changed.
Guang Deye had a room in the company where he practiced and rested; no one was allowed to disturb or enter under any circumstances. Only A Shu knew that there was something within that could save his life.
"Yes, Master," A Shu replied, turning his back to Guang Deye and scanning the group of disciples. After a moment, he slowly curved a smile.
"You are, after all, my master's disciples. Now that he's severely injured and needs a tiny bit of assistance, who among you is willing to help?"
Seeing their master in critical condition, vomiting blood, the disciples hesitated.
"Senior Brother Ah Shu... a small favor? How exactly would we assist?"
Some timidly asked, "Would it have any impact on us?"
Considering they all dabbled in dark arts, their concerns were understandable.
A Shu scanned the group with a calm tone, "As you all witnessed, Master has lost a great deal of blood. Someone come forward and donate blood for Master to replenish their vitality."
"Could it be that you doubt Master would harm us?"
He threw them a subtle hint.
Only after hearing that there was no danger did the disciples eagerly roll up their sleeves.
"Senior Brother A Shu, it is our duty to offer blood for Master first," they said in unison.
"Yes, take me instead!"
"Why would you take me? Take me, damn it!"
A Shu selected someone with compatible birth dates and zodiac signs to enter the room.
Once the person was inside,
the rest dared to engage in hushed conversations.
"Could it be that the one who inflicted such grave injuries on Master is more powerful than him?"
"Master's most formidable skill is his dark arts. If righteousness cannot overcome evil, how can there be someone with even greater power?"
"I've never heard of it. You're the one with the most friends in the realm of dark arts. Have you come across any such information?"
"I? No, I haven't."
All of them became wary of the individual who had severely injured Guang Deye, for their fates were intertwined with his. If anything happened to Guang Deye, they would undoubtedly suffer as well.
Shortly after, Guang Deye's female secretary arrived with medical assistance.
Not long after, the disciple who had donated blood earlier emerged, weak from his bandaged wrist.
The group gathered around, voicing their concerns.
They had been following Guang Deye for several years; apart from the incident in Saigon, when had they ever seen their master so gravely injured? Each of them was deeply worried.
"How is Master?"
"Is there any danger?"
The donor shook his head and, noticing A Shu emerging from behind, cautiously asked, "Senior Brother A Shu, am I really alright?"
A Shu averted his gaze, his tone aloof. "You're fine."
It was merely the loss of a decade's worth of lifespan, with no impact on his life.
"Senior Brother A Shu, how is our Master doing?"
"Yes, Master, is there any danger?"
A Shu sighed softly. "Master's condition isn't very good."
"What should we do then?" someone worriedly inquired.
"At critical moments, perhaps more blood will be needed to be donated," A Shu said. Immediately, someone stepped forward, confidently pounding their chest.
"Alright! If Master still needs blood to replenish their essence and energy, then use mine!"
"I appreciate your filial piety," A Shu said, scanning the room once more.
"Given Master's coma, we must be on high alert these days. How many orders do each of you still have pending?"
They exchanged glances before starting to calculate their remaining tasks. The leader finally announced, "On average, everyone has two orders left."
"Good. After finishing these orders, the company won't take on any new ones until Master wakes up." With that, A Shu dismissed them all.
This decision was made out of concern that they might encounter enemies while completing their tasks.
With Guang Deye in a coma, there was no one to protect the company.
The female secretary accompanied the doctor out of the room. After sending the doctor off, she turned to look out the floor-to-ceiling window. The night was dark, and the western skyline remained still. According to the original plan, the sky above the Garden Compound should have been illuminated by flames. Yet, it was now eerily quiet, as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened.
All of Guang Deye's efforts in setting up the array recently had been in vain.
As his mistress, she was deeply concerned about his coma.
"The doctor said Deye will be unconscious for a few days. You'll have to work hard and keep an eye on the company matters for Master," she said.
A Shu smiled. "You know I can."
The female secretary sighed. "Who on earth could have injured De Ye so severely that he's in a coma? I've been with him for years and have never seen him this badly hurt."
A Shu didn't respond much, still pondering over the one who had broken through the formation.
To have wounded his master to such an extent...
Just who was this person?
The female secretary continued speaking, seemingly to herself.
"Moreover, the contract for the reality show 'TVB Mysteries Unveiled' has already been signed, and it's about to commence."
Guang Deye has a penchant for appearing on shows.
This would not only enhance his recognition but also enable him to secure more assignments leveraging his fame.
I earnestly hope that he will regain consciousness before that happens.
As the night deepened, the air grew colder, and frost condensed on the windows, melting into droplets that trickled down.
Amidst the rising mist, the villa echoed with revelry and laughter. Unbeknownst to them, a tragic fate loomed over the garden community.
Zhan Jun, having accepted his imminent destiny, sat on the sofa, holding the woman in the red dress close, his eyes half-closed. "What's there to fear? Since death is inevitable, we might as well create some value before we go."
He reached out to caress her chest, then leaned in for a kiss with a cigar between his teeth. "Julisa, does what I'm saying make sense?"
"Whatever Brother Jun says is right," replied Julisa, playfully flipping her curly hair. She didn't quite grasp the meaning behind Zhan Jun's words but cleverly steered the conversation forward. "If I can leave something valuable behind before I die, even my spirit in heaven would be happy."
