by 陈年奶泡Speaking of which, Mother Ai turned to look at Sasa.
To be honest, Sasa came from a fairly well-off family. Her financial support would certainly benefit the Ais. Therefore, she wouldn't object to it. Compared to that thin, introverted, and sallow-faced woman, Sasa was infinitely better.
Contemplating this, Mother Ai said, "Make sure to handle it discreetly. That woman must never be allowed to meet our child."
Ai Rui smiled reassuringly. "Don't worry. I'll make sure Su Xiuya doesn't get anywhere near our child."
"No, wait." After some thought, Mother Ai still couldn't shake off her unease. "The child is hers, after all. What if she goes to court against us? Or causes a scene? I don't want to be bothered every day."
Sasa nodded in agreement, feeding Ai Rui a slice of apple with an adorable smile. "I think she's found out about me, hasn't she? I'm a little scared she might come looking for me."
"Don't be afraid," Ai Rui said, his mouth full of apple, remembering Su Xiuya's disdainful expression. "She has no parents or relatives. She's all alone in Hong Kong with no proper job or money. Stirring up trouble won't do her any good."
Sasa pouted. "Hmph, I won't talk to you anymore. You were even thinking of giving her money?"
Seeing his beloved upset, Ai Rui sat up straight, placing both hands on her shoulders to soothe her. "How could I? The money belongs to us, to our little family. Why would I give it to her? She won't get a single cent, no matter how much she wants it."
Sasa huffed. "That's more like it. But remember, once the child is older, you're not allowed to go looking for her anymore."
While Ai Rui's actions stemmed from his unwillingness to see her suffer during pregnancy, who would want to witness their lover getting involved with another woman, let alone bearing a child with them?
Sasa felt a bitter sting.
"I definitely won't look for her. Can't you tell I don't even want to go back? Who wants to face a sour, wrinkled face every day?" Ai Rui glanced at his mother again.
"As for Mother's worries, that's even less of a concern."
"I'm a lawyer, after all. I've already taken precautions against any risky situations. There's no way she can reclaim the child."
With a mischievous grin, Ai Rui continued, "Su Xiuya can't prove that the child is hers. After all, both children carry the blood of the Ais, having no connection to her."
Outside the shop, Su Xiuya stood, trembling with rage as she heard the voices inside. Her breathing grew rapid, and her head spun increasingly.
She never imagined that everything the master had predicted would come true.
All those events over the past three years were part of Ai Rui's scheme – a ploy to deceive her into bearing his child.
Recalling the two unwanted fetuses in her womb, her stomach churned, and she gagged, quickly covering her mouth.
Su Xiuya, without any support, loved Ai Rui with all her heart. When the truth was revealed, it felt as if the sky had collapsed for her.
Su Xiuya trembled, trying desperately to compose herself.
No, she couldn't rush in recklessly and alert the enemy.
What should she do?
What could she possibly do?
In her panic, Su Xiuya heard Mother Ai's voice echoing from the shop.
"Ai Rui, where did you put the money for the shop's operations?"
Ai Rui was indifferent. "I forgot to bring it today; it's in the other house."
His mother worried, "Why did you leave it there? What if that woman sees it and hides the money?"
"I doubt it," Ai Rui chuckled wickedly. "Su Xiuya thinks I genuinely love her, so she's reluctant to spend any money. She wouldn't even let me buy her new clothes, sticking to her shabby and poverty-stricken attire."
"Better be cautious. With millions in the bankbook, we'd have no need to run the shop if anything unexpected happens."
Su Xiuya's eyes brimmed with hatred as she fixated on the four people inside the shop.
Chapter 84
At the wooden table next to the dessert stall, steam billowed from the teapot as Chu Yuening leisurely brewed a pot of tea, hot water cascading from a dainty tea tray.
As the sun climbed higher in the sky, its golden rays reflected off the glass cabinets.
Despite the winter day, a chill still lingered in the air. Neighbors huddled, blowing warmth into their hands while eagerly discussing the scene before them.
"The Miss Su we just had was tricked into having a child. I wonder what the next customer would like to consult about?"
"I'd calculate when I'll strike it rich if it were me."
"Hahaha, wishful thinking, my friend."
"I'll guarantee you a spot for Master's session tomorrow."
"Stop joking. Aside from being poor, I'm in good health. There's no need for me to seek fortune-telling unless it's absolutely necessary. If I were to splurge two hundred yuan on a reading, my nagging wife would probably beat me up!"
After brewing tea, Chu Yuening gazed at the crowd and smiled gently.
"Next, please."
The next person in line was a youthful and attractive girl with short hair that reached her shoulders. She wore a yellow-and-black fleece jacket and gloves.
Upon sitting down, the girl took off her gloves and said in delight, "Miss Chu, do you still remember me?"
The girl had an apple-shaped face, fair skin with a healthy rosy glow. When she smiled, it seemed as though the world brightened up along with her.
Chu Yuening blinked, pondered for a moment, and smiled as she nodded. "I do remember, at the reception desk of Ma Tau Kok Indoor Sports Center. We had a brief encounter before."
Back when she visited the sports center.
Ah Min had attended to her.
A gentle breeze blew by.
Chu Yuening offered her a cup of tea. "Is it cold out there? Have some tea first."
Chu Yuening's demeanor was serene, like an otherworldly sage, and her smile only made Ah Min's face flush even more.
Ah Min chuckled, feeling a bit embarrassed. "I didn't expect Miss Chu to have such a great memory."
Ah Min assumed that no one would remember someone like her, a small service staff member.
But not only did Chu Yuening remember, she even recalled Ah Min's occupation.
Ah Min felt touched.
Realizing something, she covered her lips, her wide eyes filled with panic, "Am I supposed to address Miss Chu as 'Master'?"
