After lunch, the four of them hurried back to load another cart of goods.

Ye Changning sold the goods at the original price in the nearby area during the morning.

But in areas a bit further away, he raised the price by one or two yuan, and they still sold well.

By the end of the day, though they were exhausted, they had made a good profit.

Ye Changning initially wanted to give Song Xiaoguang some compensation for his hard work, but the latter declined.

Ye Changning then said, "We’ll visit Mr. Song before we leave."

This time, Song Xiaoguang didn’t say anything more.

He simply said he would come over tomorrow morning and then drove off.

Ye Changning tried to give him money for gas, but he wouldn’t take it.

Ye Changning said to Ye Xiaoxiao, "Xiao Xiao, you should head back and rest. No need to join us tomorrow. This batch of goods will likely be sold out in two or three days."

Even Ye Changning was surprised by how well the goods were selling.

Wang Jiao and Tang Xiuxiu, being from Beijing, had gone home.

The three of them had gotten up early to hang out at the square.

After a long day, they came back and crashed, only waking up now.

"Xiao Xiao, you’re back,"

The dorm was dark, and He Jing mumbled sleepily as Ye Xiaoxiao changed.

"How long have you been out?"

Xia Li turned on the light: "We left the dorm at four this morning and got back at five this afternoon. We only slept for two hours."

Ye Xiaoxiao: "Did you have fun?"

Xia Li: "It was alright. It was fun at first, but then we got too tired. We had to walk a long way before we found the bus back to campus."

He Jing: "Xiao Xiao, what did you do today?"

Ye Xiaoxiao: "My third brother came to the city, and I was with him."

Xia Li looked over with envy, "That’s so nice. My family definitely can't come to the city."

He Jing: "I’ve been asking my mom to come visit me in the city, but she always says she doesn’t have time."

Ye Xiaoxiao: "If I can stay in the city after graduation, then I’ll have time to bring my family over eventually."

Ye Xiaoxiao's words made her roommates quite happy.

"Yeah, we’ve got to work hard to stay in the city."

Xia Li asked Li Meiru, "What about you, Meiru? How’s your relationship with your family?"

Li Meiru hardly ever talks about her family.

Li Meiru was already awake, but she hadn’t joined the conversation among her roommates.

"I’ve got two older brothers, a younger brother, and a younger sister. I’m in the middle at home, the one who gets the least attention. If it weren’t for my good grades and getting into college, I’d probably have been the first to drop out."

Xia Li: "Oh, I’ve only got two older brothers. I’m the youngest in my family, and my parents are pretty good to me."

So Xia Li didn’t really get where Li Meiru was coming from.

He Jing, however, said very seriously, "I’ve got a lot of siblings too, so I get it."

Li Meiru shook her head.

Even though He Jing’s pretty frugal, she’s always getting letters and stuff from home.

Unlike her family, her parents only let her go to college because they heard students get a monthly allowance.

And ever since she started college, apart from the initial travel expenses, her family hasn’t sent her any money.

They even made her send half of her school allowance back home.

The family talk was kind of a downer.

So they all dropped the subject.

Ye Xiaoxiao was just about to hang up her leather jacket when Xia Li noticed it.

"Xiao Xiao, your jacket is so beautiful."

Ye Xiaoxiao: "My third brother got this for me."

Xia Li reached out and touched it, "Is this a leather jacket? It’s so soft, not stiff at all."

"What girl doesn’t love nice clothes?"

Ye Xiaoxiao handed it to Xia Li, "You can try it on."

Xia Li: "Really? That's awesome."

Xia Li put on the leather jacket.

Ye Xiaoxiao was taller than her, and the well-fitted leather jacket made Xia Li look a bit disproportionate.

But Xia Li thought she looked stunning.

"I’ve seen in the mall that a good leather jacket costs at least seventy to eighty yuan, which I can't afford."

Ye Xiaoxiao was honest: "Xia Li, this is a bit big for you. You'd suit a shorter jacket."

Xia Li seemed not to hear this: "Once I have the cash, I'll get one."

This girl is a lost cause.

One great thing about Jinghua University is that no matter their personalities, the students are all bookworms at heart, inseparable from their books.

Ye Xiaoxiao didn’t read today; she did her laundry and then crashed.

The next morning, if it hadn’t been for someone getting up early and making noise, she wouldn’t have been able to open her eyes.

After freshening up, Ye Xiaoxiao went to the canteen to buy some breakfast for Ye Changning and Yu Gang.

"Am I late, Third Brother?"

Ye Changning: "Not really. The food at your canteen is quite good."

But she didn’t care for them once they cooled down.

After eating, Song Xiaoguang also arrived.

They continued setting up the stall for the day.

It was another big day for sales, even the trench coats like Ye Xiaoxiao’s sold out.

Each piece went for over one hundred and fifty yuan.

When counting the money at the end, Ye Changning was grinning from ear to ear.

Ye Xiaoxiao has classes tomorrow and can’t help sell clothes.

Ye Changning took her back to the dormitory, loaded with snacks he picked up for her.

Inside were peach shortbread, powdered milk, milk candies, and some pastries.

"Do you and Yu Gang split the profits evenly?"

Ye Changning shook his head, "I fronted the money for the goods. Yu Gang handles the shipping and sales, and I give him a twenty percent cut.

We agreed on this beforehand. I offered to lend him the cash to go solo, but Gangzi didn’t agree. He said he feels more secure following me."

Even though it was Yu Gang’s idea to head to the coast for business.

But he only asked around because Ye Changning wanted to leave the village.

He wasn’t particularly ambitious or business-savvy.

The money Ye Changning gave him was enough to live comfortably.

Ye Xiaoxiao nodded, making a mental note of it.

Ye Changning walked her to her dorm.

"Go back now. I’ll come back after I’m done selling the stuff."
