Ye Xiaoxiao drove out from the Lu family's residence.

Since she was still within the compound, her speed was very low.

But even under normal driving conditions, there were still people who walked right into her path.

When Ye Xiaoxiao braked, she was only five centimeters away from the cyclist.

Ye Xiaoxiao got out of the car to check the situation.

The person in front of her turned out to be Hao Yanyan.

"Trying to scam me?"

Before the two could continue speaking, Hao Yanyan spoke up first, "It's my fault. I fell on my own, and it has nothing to do with Xiao Xiao. Please just take me to the hospital."

Shao Zeyu then bent down to help Hao Yanyan up.

A hospital was just across the street from the compound, so Ye Xiaoxiao took her there directly.

At the hospital, Shao Zeyu accompanied Hao Yanyan for her check-up, while Ye Xiaoxiao contacted Mrs. Hao (He Qiaoxiang).

He Qiaoxiang arrived at the hospital quickly.

Zhao Hongxia, Xu Jianwen, and Xu Jianli also came along.

The Xu family was more fully represented than the Hao family.

Hao Yanyan had a sprained joint. The doctor set her bone, gave her some medication, and then said she could go.

Ye Xiaoxiao and Shao Zeyu were both waiting at the door.

"Shao Zeyu, are you coming with me?"

Shao Zeyu nodded and, before leaving, said to Xu Jianwen, "I saw it with my own eyes; it has nothing to do with Ye Xiaoxiao. Hao Yanyan tripped on her own."

Xu Jianwen didn't buy Shao Zeyu's story, since he was clearly biased towards Ye Xiaoxiao and couldn't be considered a fair witness.

"You messed up, and you're not even willing to apologize?"

The consultation room door opened, and Zhao Hongxia and He Qiaoxiang helped Hao Yanyan out.

He Qiaoxiang scolded, "Xiao Xiao, even if you bumped into Yan Yan, as long as you own up to it, I won't hold it against you. But now you're dodging responsibility, and that really disappoints me."

Shao Zeyu knew the situation was murky, but leaving like this was hard to stomach.

"If the two aunts have other thoughts, I suggest we call the police. Whoever's telling the truth will come out after a couple of rounds in the interrogation room."
