On the sixth day of the Lunar New Year, the roads in Baishi Village were barely passable.

Zhang Xue and Ye Changqing returned to her parents' home, but they decided not to bring the child along, as the journey would be too harsh, and if the child fell ill, the whole family would be on edge.

After Ye Changning saw his eldest brother and sister-in-law off, he began to persuade Ye Xiaoxiao and Ye Changsheng to go to town with him.

Ye Changning replied, "To take care of some business. Don't you feel bored staying at home all the time?"

This might be the difference between extroverts and introverts.

Ye Changning desperately needed a social activity to recharge.

Although cars couldn't pass through Baishi Village, there was a section of the road where they could take an ox cart, even if it meant paying a bit more.

Ye Changning led his younger siblings out of Baishi Village and hired an ox cart from the village to take them to town.

Ye Changning replied, "We're here to take care of serious business. Just follow me."

Ye Xiaoxiao found their conversation odd. It seemed that her third brother was very familiar with this man, but she had never seen him before.

Liu Jinya invited them in and, when he saw Ye Xiaoxiao and Ye Changsheng, asked, "And who are these young'uns?"

Ye Changning: "This is my little brother and sister."

Liu Jinya: "Get in here, it's nice and warm inside."

It was cozy inside. Liu Jinya brought out melon seeds, snacks, and poured some hot water.

Ye Changning: "I figured you'd be around these couple of days, Liu Bro, or else I'd miss you again."

Liu Jinya: "No need to be polite with me. What brings you here this time? Just speak up if there's anything I can help with."

There was a good reason for the strong bond between Liu Jinya and Ye Changning. A few years ago, when Liu Jinya's car overturned and fell into a ditch while passing through the big slope of Baishi Village, it was Ye Changning who pulled him out of the wreck and saved his life.

Liu Jinya is a man of his word, so he has always remembered this incident.

However, Ye Changning knew that even if there was a debt of gratitude, it couldn't be used indefinitely; it had to be used wisely.

He wouldn't have brought it up if it weren't for the urgent need to find a suitable job for his elder brother.

Ye Changning smiled and said, "Alright, I'll get straight to the point. I have two elder brothers at home who are looking for jobs in town. Are there any openings?"

Liu Jinya: "That's not difficult. Are you only looking in town? Our town is small, and there aren't many decent jobs. If you're not in a rush, we might find something better in the county town.

If all else fails, they can always join me at the mines."

Ye Changning actually wanted Ye Changqing to go with Liu Jinya to the mines, but it was too far from home, and his elder brother might not agree.

"If we can find jobs in the county town, that would be perfect. My two elder brothers are young and capable veterans. They can adapt to any job.

If it weren't for my little nephew needing to go to school, my brothers wouldn't be pressed to find work.

As for going with you, that's not an option. Traveling all over the place, my brothers need to stay at home to take care of the family."

Otherwise, I can check which factories are hiring. I buy so many machines every year; squeezing two people in shouldn't be a problem."

Liu Jinya: "Give me your home address, and I'll let you know once I find a job."

Ye Changning smiled and said, "Thank you, Brother Liu. I'm about to head south soon, so I'll have my eldest brother come to you directly then."

Ye Changning's clothes clearly showed that his living conditions had improved.
