Ye Changning's company had staff who spoke foreign languages, but this was his first time dealing with foreign clients, so he was pretty nervous.

"Third Brother, you've really made it big."

"That's your third bro for you."

"I can go, but do I need to prepare a business suit?"

Although Ye Xiaoxiao had no experience in business, it couldn't hurt to tag along.

Ye Changning: "I'll have some sent over later."

Ye Xiaoxiao let him take care of it.

"Can we call home from here?"

Ye Changning: "The village has a telephone, but you know how spotty the signal is, and the connection isn’t stable. But we can call Eldest Sister-in-law. If Mom and Dad knew you were back, they’d drop everything to see you."

Ye Xiaoxiao thought for a moment. "I can go home for a visit before the semester starts. After that, I’ll be starting my internship."

Ye Changning: "Your internship should be in Beijing or nearby, right? Why don’t you just intern at Rende Pharmacy? It’d be so convenient."

Ye Xiaoxiao admitted hesitantly, "I’m actually planning to go to the northwest."

Ye Changning: "The northwest? That’s the middle of nowhere!"

But after a moment’s thought, he understood why. "It’s not to look for Lu Hanchuan, is it? Xiao Xiao, you should think more about yourself. It’s rough out there, and the distance might as well be another country."

However, Ye Xiaoxiao wouldn't budge. "It's just a short internship—only a few months."

Ye Changning shook his head, knowing he couldn’t persuade her.

"It’s good for you to go and see. If it’s not suitable, contact me immediately, and I’ll come get you."

Ye Xiaoxiao: "Third Brother is the best."

Ye Xiaoxiao stayed at Ye Changning’s place for the night. She slept in a huge bedroom, and by the time she woke up the next day, someone had already delivered the business outfits she needed.

There were several sets of women's business suits in different colors and styles.

The woman who delivered the clothes was a young employee from Ye Changning’s company.

Ye Xiaoxiao picked a tailored gray-blue suit.

Ye Changning nodded in approval. "Xiao Xiao, we should ask you to take some photos for our clothing factory’s marketing materials."

The businesswoman chimed in, "I think it’s perfect. If these photos are used, our product sales will definitely go through the roof."

Ye Xiaoxiao thought of her cringey ad-shooting past.

"Nah, skip that. Third Brother, you should hire more celebrities."

Ye Changning shook his head: "No celeb compares to my sister."

After picking out her outfit, Ye Xiaoxiao had breakfast first, then slipped into the suit and went to the company with Ye Changning.

The company was located in the downtown business district—a small three-story building that went by 'Ningyuan.'

"Solid name," Ye Xiaoxiao remarked.

Ye Changning suited up with a tie today. "C'mon, let's head in and check it out."

Ye Changning was the boss of the company, but since he often traveled around, most ops were manager-run.

The businesswoman who delivered the clothes in the morning was named Zhao Qingyin, one of the company’s right-hand people.

The other general manager was a man named Wang Man.

Ye Xiaoxiao didn’t know where her third brother had found these people, but seeing their rapport, she could tell he trusted his employees.

The meeting room was already set up, but whoever was fetching the foreign partner hadn’t arrived yet.

After waiting for about half an hour, Mr. Sean arrived.

Since it was their first collaboration, Sean lowballed the offer and kept bargaining.

Ye Changning held his ground, saying, "I’ll make sure Mr. Sean sees the value of our products."

Though there was a corporate interpreter, Ye Xiaoxiao still pitched in as translator.

Some back-and-forth later, Sean caved.

They inked the seven-figure deal.

"Here’s to working together!"

"Cheers to teamwork!"

Afterward, Ye Changning treated the foreigner to some real-deal Chinese food, won the guy over with one meal.

Sean said, "If work didn’t tie me down, I’d move here."

Ye Changning replied, "Anytime you’re back, Mr. Sean."

Ye Xiaoxiao translated.

Sean’s eyes stuck to Ye Xiaoxiao as he blurted out what he’d been itching to say.

"Translator lady... gorgeous!"

Ye Changning understood this because Sean said it in choppy Chinese.

Ye Changning thought to himself that this foreigner knew what’s up.

Ye Xiaoxiao thanked them graciously for the compliment.

After the meal, Ye Changning arranged for someone to see their guest to their quarters.

With this deal in the bag, Ningyuan Company would be set for sales for the next year.

But Ye Changning’s ambitions didn’t stop there—he considered his current achievements merely average.

Even after landing this foreign trade deal, he planned to keep grinding.

"Third Brother, have you thought about getting married?"

Seeing Ye Changning’s successful vibe, Ye Xiaoxiao couldn’t help but ask about his love life.

"I’m not even thirty yet, why the hurry?"

Ye Changning stood his ground and refused to be pressured by anyone.

Ye Xiaoxiao asked curiously, "Haven't Mom and Dad been urging you?"

Ye Changning: "Sure, but you can't force these things. Maybe the right one will come along."

He glanced at Ye Xiaoxiao and added, "You, on the other hand, could tie the knot sooner. When you do, Third Brother will give you a big red envelope."

Ye Xiaoxiao whispered to him, "Well, you might want to start saving up—it's happening within the year."

"So you've got someone in mind?"

Ye Changning still felt uneasy. Was his little sister too quick to settle?

She should at least play the field a bit before making a decision.

Admittedly, Ye Changning’s views were pretty modern.

But Ye Xiaoxiao didn’t think the same way—she believed that when it feels right, that's enough.

Her dimples showed as she smiled.

"Not really, I’m still considering it."

Ye Changning: "No matter what you choose, the family will support you.

But if they find out you’re planning to go to the northwest after returning from abroad, they might put up a fight."

Ye Xiaoxiao wondered whether she should tell her family about it.

Ye Changning seemed to read her thoughts. "Better to beg forgiveness than ask permission. You’d better come clean, or I’ll get scolded too."

Ye Xiaoxiao looked away. So much for being a big boss—he was such a chicken.

"Then I’ll really go home in the next couple of days to see Mom, Dad, Eldest Brother, and Sister-in-law."

But she couldn’t stick around too long before having to return.
