    **Chapter 510: The Visit**

The room was a mess. Wei Nan was pinning Zou Yan down, trapping her so she couldn't break free.

    She could only scream.

Qian Wei grabbed her flailing hands, pressed her down, and yanked her hair hard enough to nearly rip it out with the other hand.

"You're already married, aren't you? You've got a husband of your own—why'd you have to steal mine?"

Qian Wei laid into her, slapping her face repeatedly.

Eventually, Lao Gui, who had been outside, heard the commotion and ran in, knowing something was wrong.

But Qian Wei, consumed by rage, was stronger than anyone expected. She nearly ripped Zou Yan’s hair out, and Lao Gui couldn’t pull them apart.

Curses and screams blended together, making a huge scene.

Neighbors from both sides of Wei Nan’s apartment came out to see what was happening. It took everyone working together to finally restrain the hysterical Qian Wei.

Zou Yan and Wei Nan were left battered and bruised, bloodied and pitiful.

Still, from Qian Wei's words, people could put two and two together.

So that's what happened—an affair caught red-handed. Figures.

Some noticed Lao Gui and eyeballed him.

"And who are you? You don’t look familiar. Don’t you live around here, do you?"

Lao Gui turned red with shame and lowered his head.

He helped Zou Yan up. "Let’s go home."

Humiliation turned to rage inside Zou Yan. She slapped his weathered face over and over.

    "Get lost!"

Lao Gui didn’t move, but she took off instead.

Qian Wei snapped, “What a pathetic man you are!”

Lao Gui looked dejected, hanging his head low.

Qian Wei had gone too far this time—she even split Wei Nan’s head open.

Before Jiang Yu even got to the factory, she heard about it the moment she woke up the next day.

She’d figured Qian Wei would be heartbroken, furious, and ready to dump Wei Nan.

But she never expected Qian Wei to have the guts to mess Wei Nan up like that.

He Feiyan hid a grin. "Qian Wei is pretty much a legend now. Do you think she’ll get in trouble?"

Anyone who hates Wei Nan can’t be all bad. Despite how annoying Qian Wei usually was, she’d won some respect for this.

"Probably not. After all, she had every reason to be angry—Wei Nan brought it on himself. She just lost it and went overboard. What’s wrong with that?"

He Feiyan clicked her tongue and shook her head. "Wei Nan really screwed up this time. But considering how careful he usually is, it’s surprising he made such a mistake."

    Jiang Yu smirked. "Who knows?"

She thought for a moment—it’d be a shame to pass up such a great opportunity.

"Section Chief He, Deputy Section Chief Wei is sick. Shouldn’t we go visit him in the hospital?"

He Tingyue: "...You mean you want to go see the show."

Jiang Yu patted her chest. "Do I *seem* like that kind of person? As a fellow member of the State Cotton Mill, I’m *deeply* concerned about him!"

He Feiyan leaned in. "Sis, count me in too—I want to check on him too."

Jiang Yu solemnly patted her head. "That’s our Feiyan—always so kind-hearted!"

He Tingyue didn’t want to go. Someone like Wei Nan—even looking at him made his skin crawl.

But seeing how his wife was acting, he was afraid they might get their butts kicked.

Might as well go with them.

"I’ll check in with Factory Director Zheng first, then come with you."

He Feiyan waved her hand. "No need, bro—I’ve got this."

He Tingyue scoffed. "Just don’t come crying when fists start flying."

He Feiyan rubbed her nose. "As if! We’re just visiting a patient!"

He Tingyue didn’t even bother calling her out.

When he went to the factory and mentioned it to Factory Director Zheng, the latter was stunned.

"You and Jiang Yu are going to the hospital to visit Deputy Section Chief Wei?"

Factory Director Zheng let out a disbelieving laugh. "Is that really what you call a visit? Let’s be real—you’re pushing it."

He Tingyue remained expressionless, sticking to one line: "Deputy Section Chief Wei is injured. It’s only right for my wife to visit. You’re reading too much into it—my wife is very kind."

Factory Director Zheng clicked his tongue, rubbed his temples, and waved him off.

"Out! Now! Just one thing—don’t drive him up the wall."

Wei Nan was just unlucky to run into these two little devils.

He Tingyue didn’t respond, turning and walking away.

There was no way he could make that promise.

Jiang Yu’s mouth ran like a freight train—she couldn’t hold back.

He Tingyue originally thought it would just be the three of them, but Jiang Yu shouted through the factory office:

"Sign up with me if you want to go see the show—*ahem*, I mean, visit Deputy Section Chief Wei."

Before you knew it, half the factory had signed up.

It looked less like a visit and more like a lynch mob.

"Deputy Section Chief Wei is *sooo* badly hurt—we *simply must* pay our respects! But is he the only one injured? And where’s Zou Yan in all this?"

"Poor Deputy Section Chief Wei! Will Qian Wei be held accountable? I think what she did is kind of understandable, right?"

"I hope Deputy Section Chief Wei recovers soon. He was fooling around with women—shouldn't the factory hold him responsible?"

    "..."

Jiang Yu waved her hand. "Keep your voices down—it'll cause a bad impression if someone hears."

The group arrived at the hospital in a large group.

When the nurse heard they were here to visit, she was stunned.

She'd heard something about how Wei Nan ended up in the hospital.

She didn't feel sorry for a man like that getting his head cracked open.

"I didn’t expect Comrade Wei to be so popular."

Jiang Yu said, smiling, "Deputy Section Chief Wei is very good with people at the factory. He rarely makes enemies, and everyone likes him. But how serious are his injuries? We were all so worried when we heard he got hurt."

The nurse curled her lip. "The head wound isn't serious—just a concussion. He'll be fine with some rest."

"Oh? Does he have other injuries?" Jiang Yu keenly caught her implication.

The nurse’s face instantly stiffened, hesitating to speak.

Jiang Yu leaned in closer. "Comrade, you can tell me quietly. My lips are sealed."

    "Alright, come a little closer."

Jiang Yu pressed her ear near, listening to the nurse's hushed voice, her eyes going wide.

"Deputy Section Chief Wei was so frightened it caused ED? He can't get it up anymore?"

The nurse nodded repeatedly. "Exactly! When he found out, he was crying his eyes out."

Qian Wei had smashed him on the head from behind while he was naked, and Wei Nan had been so scared that he immediately went limp.

He Feiyan covered her mouth in shock. "How awful!"

"Deputy Section Chief Wei is really going to learn his lesson this time."

"How awful—I mean for Qian Wei."

"Will Qian Wei be punished? I'm a bit worried for her."

"Let’s hurry to the ward. I can't wait to see... I mean, visit Deputy Section Chief Wei."

The nurse, confused, finally realized these folks might not be here out of concern.

    "Um..."

Jiang Yu turned back. "Nurse, anything else? Sorry about earlier—I accidentally let it slip."

"No, just wanted to remind you the patient isn't well. You should go easy on him."

Jiang Yu gave a small smile. "We know. We're just here to visit Deputy Section Chief Wei."

They were about to enter the ward when the door suddenly swung open.

Jiang Yu and He Tingyue were walking ahead and bumped right into Wei Xiuru.

Beicheng wasn't exactly a big city, but it wasn't small either.

Yet all these years, even while living in the same city, they had never crossed paths with the He family.

Caught completely off guard, Wei Xiuru ran into them after so many years, her face clearly showing shock.

    "What are you doing here?"

She hadn’t spent much time with He Tingyue—she had barely become part of the family before he joined the military.

The only time he returned home was when he saw He Feiyan being bullied, and in a fit of rage, he almost tore the whole He family house apart.

He didn’t hit her, but he grabbed her son and beat him so badly that the boy was left barely alive.

It was said that he faced military discipline for that incident and later left the military, taking He Feiyan away to live with him.

But that one encounter was enough for Wei Xiuru to see just how ruthless He Tingyue could be—the memory still made her blood run cold.
