Chapter 553: Wei Nan from Psychiatry is Crazy Again
by 六六小可爱Chapter 553: Wei Nan from the Psychiatry Department Acts Out Again
He Feiyan spent the entire evening at home venting about the things Lin Hongxia had said.
Jiang Yu could only sigh in resignation.
"It's not like this is the first time you've known what kind of person she is. Why bother with her?"
He Feiyan grumbled, "I just can't stand it! And your cousin, Sister-in-law, is no better. She thinks she's hiding it well, but she might as well have 'gloating' written all over her face."
Jiang Yu laughed it off and asked instead, "When are the students coming back to collect their report cards?"
"In about a week. Grading those exams was a headache."
Not only did she have to grade the exams, but she also had to write comments. Just thinking about it tired her out.
"During the final exams, Xue Ying brought her father to see Director Xiao at school. She really thought Director Xiao would do her a favor."
He Feiyan chuckled with satisfaction, recalling Xue Ying's sour expression. It gave her immense satisfaction.
"Director Xiao may be an opportunist, but you have to admit—people like him always manage to thrive."
Being able to go with the flow and maintain a keen sense of the world around them is a skill in itself.
Jiang Yu casually asked, "How's Wu Yue doing?"
"She's doing okay."
Most people wrote off Liu Zilong's mother's words as lies, so hardly anyone believed her.
Jiang Yu nodded. "Ask if she's free tomorrow to come over for dinner."
Jiao Zongyao would probably be happy they were becoming friends.
"Sure, I'll ask her later."
Jiang Yu thought for a moment. "I'll go with you. I could use some air anyway."
But when they arrived at Wu Yue's place, they learned she was in the hospital.
Wu Fengxi, exhausted and pale from staying up all night, had just returned home when she bumped into He Feiyan and Jiang Yu at the door.
"Could you visit her at the hospital? Yueyue would be so happy."
She knew Wu Yue had approached He Feiyan with an agenda, but she could also tell Wu Yue genuinely wanted to be friends with her.
He Feiyan quickly said yes.
"Sister-in-law, why don’t you head back first? I’ll go see Yueyue."
Jiang Yu figured since they were already out, she’d tag along to the hospital.
Wu Fengxi looked at her with gratitude. "Thank you, Jiang Yu."
The three had just stepped outside when they ran into Jiao Zongyao.
It was no secret that Jiao Zongyao and Jiang Yu were on bad terms, and the atmosphere instantly got awkward.
Wu Fengxi explained awkwardly, "Feiyan came to see Yueyue, and Jiang Yu accompanied her."
Jiang Yu took the initiative to speak: "Deputy Director Jiao, it’s been a while."
Jiao Zongyao snorted coldly, "I thought Department Head Jiang wouldn’t want to see me."
"Not particularly." Jiang Yu admitted, opting for honesty.
Wu Fengxi held her breath nervously, "Zongyao..."
"Go on. I’m sure Yueyue will be glad to see them," Jiao Zongyao said.
When they arrived at the hospital, Wu Yue looked visibly surprised by their visit.
He Feiyan asked worriedly, "How’d you get sick all of a sudden?"
Wu Yue smiled, "Just a fever—no big deal. I’ll be out after finishing the IV today."
He Feiyan frowned slightly, "Auntie said your fever was almost 104°F. How could that not be serious?"
Wu Yue replied, "But it’s gone down now."
She looked down, hiding what she felt.
Right after the holiday started, home already felt unbearable.
After just a short time at the school, she couldn’t stand being home anymore.
Just seeing Jiao Zongyao every day made her sick.
"Auntie Wu, when’s Yueyue getting out?"
Wu Fengxi answered, "This afternoon."
Jiang Yu suggested, "How about Yueyue stays with me for a bit?"
Wu Fengxi and Wu Yue both froze in surprise.
"Would that be okay?" Wu Fengxi asked hesitantly.
But secretly, she was relieved.
She knew how much Wu Yue was hurting but couldn’t do anything.
If Jiang Yu could help, she’d be grateful.
"It’s fine. I just don’t want Yueyue to feel awkward."
Wu Yue shot a look at He Feiyan, who gave her a reassuring smile.
"My room is quite big. There’s room for one more, though my sister is also there. Hope you don’t mind sharing space."
"Not at all," Wu Yue said quickly.
Wu Fengxi discreetly wiped her eyes, "I’ll grab your things so you won’t have to go home."
After visiting Wu Yue, Jiang Yu stepped out of the ward.
She almost collided with Fu Xiangyun rushing by.
Fu Xiangyun barely looked up, muttering a quick "Sorry."
Jiang Yu recognized her and asked, "Xiang Yun, what brings you to the hospital? Are you sick?"
Fu Xiangyun jumped, her guilt written all over her.
Irritated by Lin Hongxia’s pestering, she had come to the hospital to ask a friend about Jiang Yu.
She hadn’t expected to bump into Jiang Yu right away.
*Guess this proves you shouldn’t scheme behind people’s backs.*
"No, I’m just... here to visit a friend."
Jiang Yu said, "Oh," then ribbed her, "Then why’re you so jumpy? I thought you were up to no good."
Fu Xiangyun gave a nervous chuckle. "I’m not flustered, just surprised."
Jiang Yu nodded. Seeing how anxious Fu Xiangyun seemed, she didn’t detain her further.
She eyed Fu Xiangyun’s retreating back for a while. Curiosity got the better of her, and she decided to follow.
Fu Xiangyun’s sneaky vibe didn’t seem like someone simply visiting a friend.
She tailed Fu Xiangyun to Gynecology, where she indeed met a friend.
However, her friend wasn’t a patient but a nurse.
They chatted like nobody was listening.
"Remember I mentioned someone named Jiang Yu before? Can you dig up if she’s infertile?"
"How am I supposed to check?"
Fu Xiangyun said, "She’s had check-ups here before. Her name’s Jiang Yu—you’ve gotta have records."
Her friend paused. "Why do you want to check?"
Jiang Yu was floored. *Yeah, she’d like to know too.*
Fu Xiangyun sighed. "Mom’s obsessed with whether she can pop out kids."
"She’s not your sister-in-law. Why does your mom care?"
Fu Xiangyun patted her shoulder. "You don’t get it. Just help me out, okay?"
Jiang Yu ducked into a corner, watching Fu Xiangyun leave.
Her friend stood there, grumbling, "Which 'Jiang'? Which 'Yu'? She didn’t even spell it out."
Jiang Yu waffled about leaving when suddenly another nurse rushed over.
"Xiao Lin, Wei Nan in Psych is losing it again! Come on, let’s check it out!"
Xiao Lin immediately forgot about Fu Xiangyun’s request and hurriedly said, "I missed his last meltdown—not this time!"
Jiang Yu blinked. "Huh?"
Wei Nan? *Wait—that Wei Nan?*
