Chapter 550: Loss is a Blessing
by 六六小可爱Chapter 550: Taking a Loss Can Be a Blessing
Liu Zilong's mother was cowed by He Feiyan and was left speechless.
She could handle her own problems, but she was afraid of affecting Liu Zilong.
"Teacher He, I originally thought you were a decent person, but how could you...?"
He Feiyan coldly interrupted, "How could I *what*? Just because you're a student's parent, you think we teachers should let you bully us without fighting back? Liu Zilong's mother, spreading rumors is a crime. Can you take responsibility for your words?"
Liu Zilong's mother shot a glance at Xue Ying, who quickly flinched away, "Why are you looking at me?"
He Feiyan's expression darkened, "Yeah, why *is* she looking at you?"
Xue Ying swallowed hard, "How would *I* know?"
By now, Wu Yue was no longer afraid.
She’d expected today to be a disaster, but He Feiyan sticking up for her was a surprise.
Now her head was clear, and she realized this incident might be related to Xue Ying.
Xue Ying always had it out for her, and this time was no exception.
"I’m calling the police."
Wu Yue had made up her mind—she couldn’t panic.
If she lost her composure, she’d just give Xue Ying more ammo.
Now, it was Liu Zilong's mother who panicked.
"I’d also like to see who told you these things and sent you to the school."
Seeing Wu Yue’s resolve, He Feiyan smirked.
"Call the police. I support you."
Ping Jie didn’t want things to blow up and stood up to mediate, "Wu Yue, she’s still a student’s parent. Can’t we just drop it?"
This time, Wu Yue didn’t choose to stay silent.
"When she was saying those things earlier, why didn’t you tell her to drop it, Ping Jie?"
Ping Jie froze.
She just always caved to parents.
Now that she’d backed off, why not just let it go?
"Teacher Wu, teaching at school with so many students, putting up with crap comes with the job. Suck it up—‘loss is a blessing,’ right? If you call the police, it’ll harm the school’s reputation."
After some thought, Ping Jie still tried to persuade her.
But each word just pissed He Feiyan off more.
"Ping Jie, just because you’re used to suffering doesn’t mean others have to. If you love eating dirt so much, enjoy your feast! Yue, don’t waste words on her. Call the police!"
Seeing their determination, Liu Zilong's mother panicked.
"I... I just said a few words, how did it escalate to calling the police! It was all for the students' good, why can't we just talk this through?"
He Feiyan stepped forward, pulling Wu Yue behind her, preventing Liu Zilong's mother from reaching her.
"Were you being reasonable with us earlier?"
Liu Zilong's mother pleaded, "I was just worked up in the moment!"
Wu Yue refused to look at her. He Feiyan had her back like this—if she backed down now, wouldn’t that let her down?
"I just want to know, who sent you here?"
Xue Ying’s expression shifted slightly as she quietly hid behind Ping Jie, her nails almost drawing blood from her palms.
Her heart raced as she secretly stared at Liu Zilong's mother, afraid she’d spill the beans.
Liu Zilong's mother hesitated, her voice shaky. "No one..."
"No more talk. We’re calling the cops." Wu Yue had no patience to keep arguing.
Terrified, Liu Zilong's mother panicked and pointed at Xue Ying, shouting, "Her! She told me!"
She fumbled in her pockets, pulled out two ten-yuan bills, and threw them back at Xue Ying.
"I don’t want the money anymore! Just get them to back off!"
Ping Jie stiffened, turning to look at Xue Ying.
"You sent her here?"
"No!" Xue Ying immediately denied it. "She’s making this up! I’ve never even met her!"
He Feiyan snorted, giving her the side-eye.
"She’s Liu Zilong’s mother—she’s even caused trouble for you before. And you claim you don’t know her?"
Xue Ying’s breathing quickened, her eyes darting nervously.
"I slipped up earlier, but I’m not close to her! This is all bullshit. Why would I, out of nowhere, ask her to come here and say these things?"
Liu Zilong's mother jammed her hands on her hips. "You gave me this cash yourself! As for why you called me here, how should I know? You must have some grudge against her!"
Xue Ying barked a laugh. "That’s ridiculous! What grudge could I possibly have with Wu Yue?"
"How should I know what grudge you have with her? All I know is you’re the one who called me here. If you don’t believe me, bring my son over—he knows too!"
Xue Ying snapped, "He’s your kid—he’ll say whatever you want!"
Liu Zilong's mother raised her voice. "There were other classmates there too! A bunch of them were there! Are you saying they’re all lying for me?"
When Xue Ying had discussed this with her, she’d sworn Wu Yue was a pushover and wouldn’t fight back.
All she had to do was prove Wu Yue had an abortion, and that would be enough.
Xue Ying had never mentioned that He Feiyan would step in to defend Wu Yue, let alone drag this to the cops.
Getting locked up over chump change just wasn’t worth it.
So no way was she going down alone; she had to take Xue Ying down with her.
Wu Yue didn’t budge: "Xue Ying, since you claim it has nothing to do with you, I'll just call the police and let them prove your innocence."
"Don't!" Xue Ying grabbed her arm in panic.
Meeting Wu Yue's cold gaze, she couldn't help but feel bitter inside, seething with hatred.
"I just wanted her to give you a scare—it was all a joke! Why’d you have to take it so hard?"
She gritted her teeth, what burned her most being that Wu Yue's abortion was actually true.
Wu Yue let out a cold laugh.
"You think it's funny? You were stringing along five guys at once, two of whom were parents of students. Did I ever air your dirty laundry?"
Xue Ying was stunned, then snapped angrily, "That’s a damn lie!"
Wu Yue blinked. "Just messing with you. Why are you so mad? Isn’t it funny?"
He Feiyan nearly laughed out loud. Xue Ying had it coming.
Watching Xue Ying's face turn purple with rage, she felt a deep satisfaction.
Liu Zilong's mother looked at Wu Yue pleadingly. "I've confessed everything. Can you not call the police?"
Wu Yue glanced at her. "I can let you slide, but not Xue Ying."
Xue Ying's face contorted with anger. "Why not?!"
"Because you piss me off! This isn’t the first time you’ve targeted me. Did you really think I’d keep taking your crap like before?"
Wu Yue had endured her in the past only for her dad’s sake.
A child with daddy’s protection was always different.
But this time, she had someone backing her too.
Wu Yue looked at He Feiyan, her heart swelling with gratitude.
Xue Ying was indignant, but with her secrets exposed, she knew she was backed into a corner and had no choice but to yield.
"Okay, fine! I’m sorry. Satisfied?"
Wu Yue stared at her steadily, fire burning in her almond-shaped eyes.
She had known Xue Ying for a long time. Back then, she’d also break Wu Yue's things and then offer a half-assed apology.
Wu Yue sneered. They picked on her because she was an easy target.
"I don’t accept it."
Xue Ying thought she had already eaten humble pie. What more did Wu Yue want?!
Now that He Feiyan was backing her, she thought she could just act all high and mighty.
"Then what do you want?"
Wu Yue met her gaze and, for the first time, laid her cards on the table.
"I want the school to punish you!"
Xue Ying barked out a laugh. "Is the school your personal playground? You think they’ll just punish me because you say so?"
He Feiyan said with icy calm, "Simple. If the school won’t punish you, we can call the police."
