Chapter 4: Saving People (Part 1)
byChapter 4: Saving People (Part 1)
As soon as Xiao Hua stepped out of the dorm building, she saw two girls running towards her, screaming. A large group of zombies was following them.
Looking ahead, there were at least twenty zombies.
Seeing Xiao Hua, the two girls immediately shouted for help, “Classmate! Classmate, help!” “Save us!”
Damn!
Xiao Hua glanced at them and immediately started sprinting away, not giving a damn about them or the curses behind her.
Running and screaming, and in high heels! Were they trying to attract more zombies?!
No way she was saving them!
Thanks to her practical clothes and awakened powers, Xiao Hua quickly left them far behind and hid in a nearby convenience store.
Watching the growing horde of zombies, Xiao Hua’s face twitched, her expression revealing her disbelief.
How could anyone be so stupid?
She finally understood why there were so few zombies in the dorm building.
After avoiding this wave of zombies, Xiao Hua got up again and continued towards the school gate.
Her food would only last a few days, so she needed to return to the villa and find Xiao Zui as soon as possible.
This time, Xiao Hua stuck to less crowded areas, and as a result, only encountered a few stray zombies.
Fortunately, they weren’t hard to handle. Xiao Hua grew more skilled, her aim improving. One swing of the hook, and it was like slicing through tofu—effortless and clean.
Unfortunately, not a single crystal nucleus appeared.
After killing several zombies, Xiao Hua was more convinced that the apocalypse had just begun. The zombies had only appeared recently and were mostly weak, with most not having developed crystal nuclei yet.
The little person inside Xiao Hua’s mind was weeping. These were the normal, early-stage zombies.
The one she encountered in the dorm must have been one of the first to appear, strong and having eaten several humans before evolving a crystal nucleus.
If she hadn’t been cautious and wasn’t just an ordinary, weak girl, she might have really fallen into a disaster.
Just after passing the teaching building, Xiao Hua stopped again. She saw a familiar face.
The protagonist, Su Mo.
Xiao Hua marveled at the coincidence—meeting the protagonist twice in just two days after her transmigration.
However, from her observation, Su Mo’s situation didn’t look good.
“Su Mo, don’t be ungrateful!” a sharp, sarcastic female voice attacked her.
“Yes, Su Mo, how can you reject Senior Jiang? He truly loves you!” another voice chimed in.
Oh, a love triangle drama.
Looking again, Xiao Hua saw a tall guy leading the group, his face dark with anger as he glared at Su Mo.
Alright, mystery solved.
Xiao Hua was speechless. Was this the typical cliché of a romance novel?
The female lead always encountered various suitors. On the surface, they put on the guise of a domineering CEO, but in reality, they were guilty of coercive harassment, appearing one after another.
Logically, the male lead should make his entrance in such situations. But now, the male lead was likely hiding in some remote corner, leaving the female lead to deal with it alone.
Having stumbled upon this arena of conflict, Xiao Hua had no intention of stepping out. This spot was free of zombies and hard to discover, making it perfect for quietly enjoying the drama.
The arena of conflict continued.
Su Mo silently lowered her head, ignoring the two girls' provocations.
Meanwhile, Senior Jiang was still staring at Su Mo, his face darkened with anger, asking, "Su Mo, are you sure you won't agree?!"
"I'm sorry, Senior Jiang," Su Mo refused decisively. Whether people called her arrogant or foolish, she couldn't bring herself to sell her body for the sake of survival.
Senior Jiang's face turned completely black. "Su Mo, don't regret this!"
Senior Jiang's eyes were filled with malice. Su Mo's public rejection of him was truly humiliating.
As soon as Su Mo's rejection left her mouth, the two girls who had been egging him on showed delighted expressions and now were doing their utmost to fan the flames.
"Tch, fake arrogance."
"Times have changed, Su Mo. Acting like this is dangerous. We're only trying to help you."
The two girls' words stirred Senior Jiang's thoughts again.
Times had changed, so did that mean he could do whatever he wanted?
What difference did Su Mo's refusal make?
Senior Jiang's intense gaze remained fixed on Su Mo, causing her to panic. Suddenly, she didn't dare to stay any longer and, without saying a word, turned to leave.
"Who gave you permission to leave?"
Senior Jiang's words were like a demon's whisper, freezing Su Mo in place. His words were like a royal decree, and immediately someone stepped forward to grab Su Mo, stopping her from moving again.
Watching this, Xiao Hua finally remembered. This was a scene from the original storyline!
In the original plot, Senior Jiang had also taken a liking to Su Mo, but unlike now, there was a supporting character who helped Su Mo navigate the situation.
The supporting character had some skills; her ability could provide water, so Senior Jiang didn't dare to directly threaten her. They eventually waited safely until the male lead arrived.
Interestingly, a spark ignited between the male and female leads thanks to an opportunity created by the supporting character.
But later, the supporting character developed feelings for the male lead. Too afraid to confess, her possessiveness got the better of her, and she began to make things difficult for the female lead, wanting to drive her away or even eliminate her.
The supporting character was truly saintly and kind-hearted at first, but equally dark and malevolent later on.
Recalling this, Xiao Hua lost interest in the drama.
Just then, a zombie, drawn by the commotion, shuffled over.
A few boys stood in the front, armed with sticks and cleavers, with the girls standing behind them.
