    Chapter 213: Confrontation (Part 2)

Lin Feng ignored the warning and tried to keep moving forward.

In an instant, Bai Mu clamped down on his wrist with an iron grip, forcing him to stop in his tracks.

His anxiety spiked, and being halted made his temper flare. His eyes immediately glared at Bai Mu.

Bai Mu’s eyelids drooped slightly as he shot Lin Feng a cold, penetrating look.

Though not as intense as Xiao Hua’s livid expression, Lin Feng felt an unspoken threat in Bai Mu’s emotionless stare.

One wrong move, and the man before him could end his life—or even kill the person he was trying to save. In fact, Bai Mu was indeed thinking that at the moment.

Lin Feng’s legs turned to lead. He gulped and froze, not daring to budge.

Bai Mu coolly turned his attention back to Xiao Hua, ignoring Lin Feng completely.

Xiao Hua’s focus was fixed on Dr. Cao, barely sparing a thought for the others, so she missed the tension between Bai Mu and Lin Feng.

She squinted slightly, scanning her surroundings and gauging how long Su Mo’s healing would take.

Dr. Cao’s face twitched at Xiao Hua’s composure, his eyes darkening with malice. He tightened his grip on the chain and yanked it sharply, forcing the girl to her knees on the jagged stone. Blood seeped from her knees, staining the pale rock crimson.

Lin Feng grew more frantic, slashing with his sharp nails and nearly cutting Bai Mu. But Bai Mu’s grip was unyielding, pinning Lin Feng in place.

The bound girl, in contrast, remained calm. Though bloodied and dirt-streaked, her eyes were steady, betraying no fear. She gave Lin Feng a faint smile and shook her head.

Xiao Hua’s expression stayed neutral, but she felt a flicker of relief at the girl’s reaction.

Despite his devilishly handsome looks, Lin Feng couldn’t keep his composure. Thankfully, this girl wasn’t some clueless fool; she understood the stakes and played along.

Though her mind raced, Xiao Hua kept her expression perfectly composed. Her lips held their faint curve as she coolly observed Dr. Cao.

“You don’t care if she lives?” Dr. Cao’s tone was a mix of curiosity and anger as he tightened the chain.

Xiao Hua knew this was a battle of wills, and she couldn’t afford to show her hand.

In fact, when it came to psychological tactics, Xiao Hua felt that Bai Mu was more skilled. Usually, he was the one who handled such situations and guided the conversation.

But for some reason, this time he remained completely silent, just standing quietly by her side. Left with no choice, she had to take charge.

“We’re strangers. You think I’m a saint?” Xiao Hua’s voice dripped with sarcasm, her lips curling in disdain. She slightly relaxed her muscles, presenting herself in the most casual manner possible.

Dr. Cao’s face froze briefly before he masked his reaction. His gloomy eyes stared intently at Xiao Hua, as if trying to judge the truth in her words.

He asked again, “You came all this way, and it’s not to save her?”

Xiao Hua didn’t completely ignore the girl, but after a brief glance, she slowly shifted her gaze away and said in a dismissive tone, “Rather than saving her, my goal is to eliminate the root of the problem.”

Dr. Cao’s expression changed drastically, seeming to darken even more.

Xiao Hua subtly moved her left arm and found that the wound was almost healed. She also felt a crystal core secretly slipped into her hand to restore her powers.

There was no need to stall any longer.

A faint smile played on Xiao Hua’s lips as she crushed the crystal core. In one swift motion, she unleashed a localized blizzard, catching her enemies off guard.

The ice and snow danced wildly, obscuring everyone's vision. But for the one executing the plan, this was the greatest advantage.

Every tiny snowflake and every coarse ice shard served as Xiao Hua's medium to perceive the battlefield.

    She was in complete control.

Without hesitation, Xiao Hua hurled a hailstone directly at Dr. Cao's hands. Caught off guard, he let go of the iron chain.

"Han Xiu Jie." Xiao Hua's clear voice pierced through the ice and snow, reaching the ears of everyone present.

In the next second, the iron chain suddenly levitated in the air, yanking the person and the chain toward Xiao Hua.
