Chapter 204: Lin Feng’s Visit
by 狡猾天狗Chapter 204: Lin Feng's Visit
Bai Mu lay in bed a bit longer, then turned over and got up, quickly walking into the bathroom and turning on the shower. The sound of running water filled the room.
Xiao Hua remained lying on the bed, constantly replaying Bai Mu's words in her mind. She bit her lip and chuckled softly.
She began to ponder what it would be like for Bai Mu to serve her.
Then, uncontrollably, a flood of racy thoughts rushed into her mind, all of them of a rather explicit nature.
Xiao Hua quickly closed her eyes and smacked her forehead, trying to dispel those strange thoughts.
After a while, Bai Mu emerged from the bathroom, wearing a plain black T-shirt and black trousers, an unusual all-black getup.
Xiao Hua sat up slowly, resting her head back on the pillow, and slightly turned her head to look at the approaching man.
She couldn't help but think of the last time and suddenly smiled, her tone teasing, "Why didn't you ask me to get your clothes this time?"
Bai Mu walked over steadily, already back to normal. Hearing her words, he gave a helpless smile and raised his hands in mock surrender, "I was wrong."
Xiao Hua smiled, got out of bed, and approached Bai Mu, opening her mouth as if to say something.
In the next moment, her expression turned serious in an instant. She pulled Bai Mu behind her and coldly looked toward the window, launching a barrage of ice spikes in that direction.
"It's me," a faint but familiar voice came from outside the window.
Xiao Hua's eyes flickered, and her expression softened. She waved her hand to withdraw the impending attack.
She frowned, her eyes landing on Lin Feng, who had climbed in through the window.
It had only been two months since they last met, but Lin Feng no longer had the arrogance Xiao Hua had seen before. Instead, he seemed more like the first time they had met, radiating an air of gloom and disarray.
His clothes were in tatters, barely covering him. His thighs, arms, and cheeks bore wounds of varying degrees, dripping dark red blood onto the floor.
Lin Feng's blood continued to flow, and he looked like he was on the brink of death. Xiao Hua quickly extended her fingers and froze his skin with ice.
Though they weren't exactly close friends, they did have some acquaintance. Xiao Hua glanced at the open window and quickly went to shut it tight.
She locked eyes with Bai Mu, "Brother Bai, look after him for now. I'll go get Xiao Mo."
"Alright," Bai Mu stepped forward, reaching out to support the swaying Lin Feng, and responded calmly.
Lin Feng was in bad shape, really bad. Xiao Hua didn't waste any time and quickly left the bedroom, heading downstairs to get Su Mo.
"Hey, hey, hey, Xiao Hua, what's going on?" Su Mo was taken aback by Xiao Hua's urgency. She thought for a moment, "Did something happen to Brother Bai?"
Xiao Hua shook her head and simply said two words, "Lin Feng."
Su Mo inexplicably felt relieved. Earlier, Bai Mu and Xiao Hua had gone upstairs together, but now only Xiao Hua had come down. Her first thought was that something had happened to Bai Mu.
If something happened to the leader of the Sharp Blade team, she figured the whole team would freak out, with Xiao Hua and Xiao Zui being the first to lose it.
As for Lin Feng, she wasn't very familiar with him, so she didn't feel much of a stir in her heart.
Xiao Hua grabbed Su Mo's wrist and dashed up to the third floor. As she hurried, her mind was still racing, wondering who could have reduced Lin Feng to such a pitiful state.
Though she had only glanced at him briefly, she could tell that Lin Feng had reached the mid-level of the sixth tier, the same as her.
And Xiao Hua had to admit that in a one-on-one fight with Lin Feng, she might not necessarily win—because not only did he possess the strength of a sixth-tier zombie, but he also had the intelligence of a normal human.
However, what she had just witnessed was the top fighter in the apocalypse, who, without being controlled by Dr. Cao, was still brought to such a sorry state.
Xiao Hua’s brow twitched slightly. What exactly was going on?
But overthinking it now wouldn’t help; the answer could only come from the person involved. Xiao Hua collected herself and rushed back to her bedroom with Su Mo.
In the room, Lin Feng was supported by Bai Mu onto the sofa, his gaze blankly fixed on one spot, already in a state of unconsciousness. Xiao Hua pushed the door open and entered without any reaction from him.
Xiao Hua shut the door behind her, walked over to Lin Feng, glanced at him, then turned to look at Su Mo, with a slight smirk, "Xiao Mo, I'll trouble you."
"No need to be so formal," Su Mo waved her hand, then placed her right hand above Lin Feng’s head, unleashing a gentle healing energy.
Three minutes later, Su Mo withdrew her hand with a grimace, tutting repeatedly.
Xiao Hua looked down at Lin Feng, who hadn’t recovered at all, her eye twitching slightly, and asked, "What's wrong with him?"
Su Mo: "He's not only severely injured, but the key is that his zombification has progressed further. The zombie virus in his body has doubled in concentration."
Xiao Hua: "???"
Xiao Hua's expression froze for a moment. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, then slowly opened them, glancing at Lin Feng, who was sitting dazedly on the sofa, and almost laughed in exasperation, "What's going on with you?"
Lin Feng's eyes were unfocused, his speech unclear: "I... Cao Dong, it's Cao Dong!"
Xiao Hua raised an eyebrow, a flash of surprise in her eyes. It was Dr. Cao again; the big bad was really on top of his game.
Mentioning Dr. Cao, Lin Feng suddenly came to his senses, his bloodshot eyes staring directly at Xiao Hua, as if clutching at the last hope.
He opened his blood-stained mouth, speaking word by word: "Can you help me? As long as you can save that person, any price is acceptable."
Xiao Hua didn’t answer immediately. Instead, she raised her right hand, her index finger pressing against his forehead, a icy blue light flickering at her fingertip, gradually sinking into Lin Feng's body.
After a long while, when she finally managed to freeze him again, barely containing the surging zombie virus, she withdrew her finger, crossed her arms, and observed the gradually calming Lin Feng, sneering.
"You're about to die, and you're still thinking about saving others. Don't you see if you even have the capability?"
If Xiao Hua had initially been puzzled about who had injured Lin Feng, knowing that the culprit was Dr. Cao left her with only one thought:
Dude, did you already forget what it felt like to be tortured? Don't you have any psychological trauma?
