Xiao Zui blurted out, "Old Bai, what are you doing?!"

Bai Mu, looking pale, gave a weak smile. "I'm tired and want to leave this place for somewhere else."

This over-the-top act was clearly just for show.

Xiao Hua sighed with relief and watched Bai Mu's performance in silence.

When Bai Mu spoke, Generals Zou and Yang didn't react immediately, but several high-ranking officials who had been keeping a low profile couldn't stay quiet any longer.

They looked at each other, and one of them asked, "Do you want to leave the base?"

Bai Mu remained silent, nodding in agreement.

The official glanced at Xiao Hua and Xiao Zui before asking, "What about the others?"

Xiao Hua couldn't help but admire. Bai Mu's strategy of retreating to advance was brilliant.

Bai Mu turned his head and smiled. "Why should you be the bad guy?"

"Doesn't matter, as long as it gets done." Xiao Hua paused for a moment, then continued walking. "Reputation? Who cares."

Bai Mu shook his head. "It's not worth it for that kind of scum. Besides, if we can have a good reputation, why not take it?"

"True. It'd be a waste of time ruining ourselves over some trash." Xiao Hua nodded in agreement. It was indeed beneath them to bother with such people.

"So, what’s the plan for payback?" Xiao Hua asked again. She absolutely didn't believe that Bai Mu would let it go unpunished.

Bai Mu smiled broadly. "He’s not gonna make it."

Xiao Hua gave him a thumbs-up, impressed, while thinking of ways to secretly eliminate someone.

Xiao Zui glanced at the two several times before warning Bai Mu, "Don't lead Xiao Hua astray."

Xiao Hua: ???

Xiao Hua rolled her eyes. "What’s up with Brother Bai? Should he suddenly get all high and mighty and let him off? Yeah, right."

Xiao Hua looked at Xiao Zui and continued, "Worried I can’t handle it? Don’t be."

Bai Mu remained silent, pursing his lips with a faint smile.

Xiao Zui was left speechless, and seeing Bai Mu's smug expression, despite being annoyed, had to admit he was just stirring up trouble for nothing.

Rather than worrying about Xiao Hua getting into trouble because of Bai Mu, it was more practical to worry about who’d keep her in line when Bai Mu wasn’t around.

After all, if Bai Mu hadn’t stepped in back in the conference hall, Xiao Hua probably would’ve already taken action.
