Chapter 138 “Xiao Hua” (Part 2)
by 狡猾天狗Chapter 138 "Xiao Hua" (Part 2)
"Xiao Hua" glanced at Bai Mu, not daring to mess around anymore, and quickly came clean, "I came here to get my body back."
Xiao Hua gave her a calm look, "What's in it for me?"
"Your original body. I have a way to rebuild your body. You give me back mine, deal?"
Xiao Hua didn't bite right away. She tilted her chin at the other woman, "I have a few questions for you first."
"Go ahead."
"If you can do that, why not just make yourself a new body instead of all this hassle?" This point seemed very suspicious to Xiao Hua.
"You're in my body. There can't be two of the same body running around."
Xiao Hua nodded, somewhat convinced, "How did you find me?"
"I've got my methods, not your concern." As soon as she finished speaking, she noticed Bai Mu's cold gaze and quickly tried to remedy her statement.
"Well, you dreamed about me, and I picked up on it with a special technique. That's how I got in."
Xiao Hua's gaze lingered, then dropped before lifting again after a beat, "When did you enter?"
"Today. Your energy was all over the place, at a crucial point in your advancement. You should've been wide open."
At this, "Xiao Hua" felt a stab of regret.
Her plan had seemed foolproof. Xiao Hua was busy leveling up to fight the zombie virus. Even if she wanted to fight back, she'd be too weak to do anything about it.
But reality came at her hard.
Xiao Hua wasn't just calm—she went all out, fighting her from the inside without a care for the body.
This was her own body, and she couldn't even go all out!
So she got completely owned by Xiao Hua, not a single win in sight.
Fine, she'd just have to grind her down over time. Xiao Hua's crystal nucleus absorption would hit a critical point eventually, and that's when she'd strike back.
Then some guy showed up out of the blue, with psychic energy strong enough to flatten her.
Talk about unfair!
When the questioning was over, Xiao Hua glanced at Bai Mu beside her. Seeing him standing there quietly, not butting in, she let out a quiet sigh of relief.
She'd been worried about getting grilled by someone else at a time like this, but luckily, Bai Mu was his usual thoughtful self.
Xiao Hua eyed the woman who looked almost exactly like her, "Where's my body?"
"Xiao Hua" wasn't about to give in that easily, "You give me my body back first."
Xiao Hua smirked, not budging an inch, "It's my body now. What choice do you have?"
"..."
Xiao Hua's expression shifted, a hint of laziness creeping in, "Your call. I'm good either way."
Sure, her own body would've been better, but this one wasn't half bad for the time being.
"Xiao Hua" was anxious, but she was powerless to change it and eventually had to compromise.
"Fine, I'll do it for you!"
She spoke resentfully, taking out an irregularly shaped stone from the collar of her chest, which emitted a faint glow.
Before Xiao Hua could get a closer look, the light from the stone suddenly intensified, blinding her momentarily.
The stone hung in mid-air, radiating light, as though it were the very core of this realm.
The light shone on Xiao Hua, gradually twisting and rotating, and soon took on the shape of a human figure.
Then, light continuously seeped out from the stone, flowing into the humanoid shape, building it up.
After what felt like an eternity, the light grew weaker, and the humanoid form became more complete. Xiao Hua could already clearly see the outline of her own face.
After a long while, the humanoid shadow gradually solidified, taking on the appearance of real flesh.
"Xiao Hua" reached out to catch the slowly descending body, her voice tinged with urgency: "Hurry up and come in, then leave my body."
Xiao Hua took a step forward but then stopped. She turned her head and gazed steadily at Bai Mu, "Brother Bai, you should leave first."
Bai Mu hesitated, his gaze intense, "Can you handle it?"
"Of course," Xiao Hua tilted her head slightly and smirked, "I'll be out soon."
"Alright," Bai Mu gave a small smile, and Xiao Hua watched as he disappeared before her eyes.
Asking Bai Mu to leave first wasn't because Xiao Hua didn't trust him, but because after switching bodies, she would lose control of the current body.
She didn't know what would happen after losing control, but by having Bai Mu leave first, she ensured he wouldn't be implicated if something went wrong.
"Hurry up! Put your hand here," from the other side, "Xiao Hua" urged impatiently.
She had come here from another world and couldn't stay too long, lest she be easily discovered by the Heavenly Dao.
Xiao Hua looked over, walking unhurriedly to her own body, and placed her hand on it.
This body was just an empty shell, and Xiao Hua quickly took possession, merging with it almost instantly.
As she felt the changes coursing through her body, Xiao Hua finally understood why "Xiao Hua" had gone to such lengths.
In fact, the body she was merging with was originally hers.
It could be understood that the stone had found Xiao Hua's original body, essentially restoring it to its original state.
So "Xiao Hua" had to wait until her own body was empty before she could summon it with the stone, otherwise, it would all be for nothing.
