Chapter 238: Conclusion
by 狡猾天狗Chapter 238: Conclusion
When Xiao Hua reached the first floor, she immediately noticed her teammates' gazes fixed on her. Her eyes slowly drifted to Bai Mu before snapping back, her expression unreadable.
Xiao Hua pursed her lips slightly and walked over to the sofa, sitting down as if she hadn't noticed their looks. But when she sat next to Su Mo, she got an admiring thumbs-up.
Su Mo looked at her and mouthed silently, "Impressive."
Xiao Hua pressed her lips together, staying calm and composed.
After breakfast, Xiao Hua went to the gym to work out. Because of last night, she had completely forgotten about Bai Mu's past tendency to hide things.
After about an hour of sweating in the gym, Su Mo and Luo Ning suddenly walked in, each grabbing an arm and dragging her out immediately.
Xiao Hua: "???"
Xiao Hua used some strength to break free, leaning back against the equipment as she looked at the two, utterly confused. "What's up?"
Luo Ning blinked and turned to look at Su Mo.
Su Mo cleared her throat and smiled brightly. "Xiao Hua, let's go out and have some fun!"
Xiao Hua grabbed a towel from the rack to wipe her sweat, giving her a quick glance. "We just got back yesterday, and you still want to go out and party?"
"Of course," Su Mo replied with a fake smile, adding, "You're not feeling empty after last night, are you?"
Xiao Hua: "???"
If I were empty, would I still be in the gym?
"Ha," Xiao Hua shot back, staring at her before heading to the door. "Let's go."
Su Mo and Luo Ning exchanged a glance, trying not to laugh.
...
Xiao Hua followed them outside the base, and as they walked further, it became clear their destination was her former masterpiece, the Ice Fortress.
Though some time had passed, the Ice Fortress still stood at the base entrance, deterring zombies and providing water.
Xiao Hua was puzzled, not sure why the two had dragged her here, but she didn't dwell on it and silently followed.
The fortress had multiple levels and many rooms. Xiao Hua was led into one of the rooms, and when she opened the door, she saw various ice sculptures and a crystal-clear piano.
As Xiao Hua stepped into the room, a figure suddenly appeared on the piano bench. Dressed in a white suit, the person sat quietly with long, slender fingers on the keys, exuding elegance and grace.
It was Bai Mu.
He slightly turned his head and smiled at Xiao Hua as she entered, the faint marks she had left on his collarbone the previous night adding a touch of sensuality.
The piano music began to play, clear and melodious, as if expressing the deep affection hidden in the heart of the player. Even though Xiao Hua knew nothing about music, she could genuinely feel the profound emotions conveyed.
Xiao Hua's gaze completely froze, staring at Bai Mu in a daze, unable to look away, her lips curling into an uncontrollable smile.
What a surprise.
Her eyes drifted for a moment, and as she glanced at the surrounding ice sculptures, she paused slightly. The sculptures were of various forms, each exquisitely beautiful, yet all depicting the same person—Xiao Hua.
Xiao Hua lowered her eyes, lightly biting her lip, her gaze quickly returning to Bai Mu, unsure of what to say.
What’s he up to?
She had a hunch but didn’t voice it, quietly waiting for what would come next.
The piano music faded out, and as the piece ended, Bai Mu slowly stood up and walked over to Xiao Hua, stopping two steps away from her. He pulled out a velvet box from his pocket and knelt down on one knee.
"Xiao Hua..."
Bai Mu started, seeming calm on the surface, but from Xiao Hua's understanding of him, his eyelashes wouldn’t stop trembling, and his voice had a slight quiver, clearly indicating he was highly nervous.
Xiao Hua knew she should be blushing shyly, eagerly waiting for the proposal he’d so carefully planned.
However, Bai Mu was now looking up at her, and even though his collar was buttoned to the top, it couldn’t hide the pink flush on his neck, which was downright alluring.
Especially when paired with his forced composure, it made Xiao Hua's attention uncontrollably drift away. She missed the solemn words of the proposal, only staring at him without blinking.
When she finally came back to her senses, she barely caught the most crucial sentence—"Will you trust me completely and spend your life with me?"
Will you trust me completely and spend your life with me?
Xiao Hua's eyelids trembled slightly, her lips parting and closing, until she let out a soft laugh and simply said, "I do."
She quickly returned to her usual self, though the smile on her lips was unmistakable. She looked down at Bai Mu, who was still in a daze, and extended her left hand, her tone lazy and casual, "Will you put it on for me?"
Bai Mu finally came to his senses, a bright smile gathering at the corners of his eyes. He solemnly held Xiao Hua's left hand, filled with joy and reverence, and slid the silver ring onto her ring finger.
Bai Mu’s lips trembled as he bent down gently and placed a kiss on Xiao Hua's ring finger.
"Thank you."
