Chapter 83: Complete Realization
by 狡猾天狗Chapter 83: Complete Realization
In just a few seconds, Luo Qing had completely turned into a zombie, but she still lunged at Luo Ning, screaming.
Kong Yu instantly stepped in front of Luo Ning. Luo Ning’s eyes widened in shock, her legs trembling from her sister’s sudden transformation, and she was equally stunned by Kong Yu’s quick reaction.
Just as Luo Qing was about to attack them, Xiao Hua finally intervened.
Xiao Hua raised her hand and erected a solid wall of ice, forcibly separating Luo Qing and Luo Ning. The hard ice quickly melted, turning into streams of water that crawled over Luo Qing, instantly freezing her entire body.
Xiao Hua glanced back at the still-dazed Luo Ning and the desperate Kong Yu, who was protecting her. She sneered, "A sister like her isn't worth keeping."
The two sisters were polar opposites—one gentle and innocent, the other cruel and heartless.
Luo Ning looked at her now completely unfamiliar sister and, recalling her previous words and actions, broke down completely.
Luo Ning dropped to the ground, sobbing uncontrollably, releasing all the pain and fear she had endured over the past day.
Xiao Hua didn’t flinch, leading Bai Mu and the others away, leaving Kong Yu to comfort Luo Ning.
Kong Yu remained by Luo Ning’s side, waiting patiently as she cried herself out, then helped her to her feet when she finally calmed down.
Luo Ning looked up at Kong Yu, noticing he had picked up the short knife Xiao Hua had given her earlier.
Kong Yu then walked up to Luo Qing and, in one clean motion, cut off her head.
Luo Qing’s head rolled onto the ground, its hollow, sunken eyes staring at Luo Ning with a sinister expression.
Luo Ning’s body trembled, her tear-filled eyes looking at Kong Yu in disbelief.
Kong Yu’s face was cold, his jaw set in a hard line as he avoided her gaze. "She hurt you. She had to die."
God knows how terrified he had been in that moment, afraid he couldn’t protect Luo Ning, afraid she might die.
And God knows how relieved he felt when Xiao Hua saved her.
Kong Yu closed his eyes, knowing that even if Luo Ning hated him for it, he couldn’t show mercy.
For once, Luo Ning remained silent, not offering the usual excuses for her sister.
As she touched the red mark on her neck and looked at Luo Qing’s lifeless body, Luo Ning began to wonder if she had truly misjudged her sister.
The two of them stood and sat in a tense standoff.
...
From a distance, Xiao Hua watched with narrowed eyes as Kong Yu delivered the swift, decisive blow.
"I’m satisfied."
Xiao Hua lost interest in the unfolding scene, put down her binoculars, and hummed a tune.
Su Mo also witnessed the satisfying scene. "What now?"
Xiao Hua tilted her head in confusion. "What do you mean?"
Su Mo nodded toward Kong Yu and Luo Ning. "Them."
"Oh, right."
Xiao Hua realized she had brought them along to help Luo Ning avoid the crisis.
Now that Luo Qing was dead and Luo Ning had survived, there wasn’t much left for her to do.
With that thought, Xiao Hua felt a lot more at ease. "If they want to stick around, they can. If not, they’re free to leave."
Realizing she wasn’t the leader, Xiao Hua turned to ask Bai Mu next to her.
"Brother Bai, is it okay?"
Bai Mu’s gaze met Xiao Hua’s, and after a moment, he gave her a gentle smile.
Xiao Hua took his smile as agreement.
She turned back and saw that everything was wrapping up, then raised her hand to signal the others. "Let’s go, back to the camp."
Xiao Hua led them back to the temporary campsite and found that Luo Ning’s emotions had mostly calmed down, though the atmosphere between her and Kong Yu was still noticeably tense.
It was understandable that they’d need some time to process everything after such a big shock.
Xiao Hua sat down next to Luo Ning, acting like everything was fine. "You guys got any food?"
Luo Ning snapped back to reality and shook her head, looking a bit uncomfortable. "No."
"Oh." Xiao Hua’s expression remained calm as she took two packs of biscuits out of her backpack and handed them to Luo Ning. "Here, take these. Just don’t forget to return them, alright?"
Before Luo Ning’s gratitude could fully show, Xiao Hua’s next words left her speechless.
Was she actually supposed to pay them back?
Kong Yu was the first to react, taking the biscuits from Xiao Hua’s hand. "Thank you."
Xiao Hua nodded, pleased that he got the message.
Luo Ning is not good person either
