"Just give up." Xu Rui looked at Xiang Feiyu, who was barely conscious on the bed, and hung his head in defeat. His shoulders sagged from exhaustion, and even his breathing felt heavy. "We're just regular people. How the hell are we supposed to deal with something like that? If there's really a god out there, then we were probably abandoned the moment we were dragged into the nightmare world."

"Sorry." Tian Yue suddenly apologized beside him.

Xu Rui was exhausted, frozen to the bone. He didn't even have the strength to turn his head.

"If I joined you in blaming the world and cursing fate, it might make you feel better. But I'm sorry..." Tian Yue's voice trembled, her voice cracking. "I really... really don't want to give up."

She forced herself to look up, blinking back tears, her emotions unraveling like a snapped thread. "If I wanted to give up, I wouldn't have fought so hard to drag you all back here. I still have a bunch of items I haven't used! Even if I have to smash them, I'll hurl every single one of those damn things at those withered branches—as many as I can!"

"If we beat this game, we can bring the information back to the special task force. The seniors there might find a safer way to beat it. If we spread the methods for surviving each survival game, we could save so many players." Feng Xuelan's voice sounded dreamy, like she was lost in a good dream.

"We've actually been pretty amazing." The tears on Tian Yue's face had frozen solid. "Before I got pulled into this damn game, I never thought I'd be this tough."

"Xuelan, I'm so tired too. Really, so tired. Always so tired."

"You know why I always drag you into buying all that random luxury stuff?" Tian Yue barely managed to curl her lips, but couldn't force a laugh. "Because I really don't know—how expensive, how good do things have to be, to be worth how hard we fight to live..."

"What a shame." Her voice grew softer, as if her consciousness was fading. "What a shame... if only we could take back what Miss Xie taught us..."

    "Boom—!"

A deafening roar and violent shaking shattered the silence. The sudden noise and shaking jolted Tian Yue and the others, who had been on the verge of losing consciousness, back to alertness. The overwhelming sense of imbalance from all directions made it nearly impossible to stay on their feet.

They also heard some ominous sounds.

Without caring whether the light would attract the monsters outside, they instinctively reached out and flipped the switch by the door.

Then they saw severe cracks spreading across the walls, ceiling, and floor.

"I really didn't think things could get worse." Tian Yue gritted her teeth as she watched the collapsing structure around her, her voice growing desperate. The violent shaking made her immediately realize that this room—no, the whole floor they were on—was collapsing!

"Could it be... could it be that they did something?" Xu Rui, clearly recalling Chi Yan and the others who had disappeared into the thick fog, endured the sharp pain and walked to the bed, lifting the unconscious Xiang Feiyu into his arms.

It had always been Xiang Feiyu carrying him before; now it was his turn to haul this troublesome guy.

"How could that be? We set off so many explosions earlier, and aside from the floor tiles cracking, the walls and floor didn't budge at all." In Tian Yue's view, Su Bai and the others weren't as useful as the four of them.

No sooner had she spoken than a thunderous crash rang out, as if the building's spine had been snapped. The floor shattered into several pieces, and the entire room split, twisted, and collapsed from the center.

The ground beneath Xu Rui and the others seemed to vanish into a void, and before they could react, they screamed as they plummeted downward.

They instinctively tried to grab onto something, but the walls formed by "It" had already crumbled, and the broken fragments, the next second, seemed to lose gravity, turning to dust and surging upward, returning to the unknown source of "Its" power.

They could only fall endlessly, with no strength left to struggle.

"All of you, grab the vines!"

Just as everyone was spiraling out of control in their descent, a familiar voice exploded from above.

Tian Yue looked up and saw a blood-red vine dangling down from above, its color glaring and eerie.

Following the Blood Vine upward, she saw Chi Yan shouting at them.

    "Grab hold!"

Tian Yue sighed, thinking her hallucinations were acting up again.
