Chapter 372: Some Players' Bad Habits

"The activity... is about... to begin."

The zombie waiter's words took the players present by surprise. They hadn't expected the so-called activity to start so abruptly so soon after entering the hotel.

"Please, guests, do not be nervous." The zombie waiter's expression remained unchanged, its mouth not moving, making its voice and cadence sound extremely bizarre. "This activity: leisure, entertainment. Today: self-introduction, get along."

"You mean..." The gentleman in the flashy suit, seemingly out of habit, played with the ring on his right pinky finger as he pondered, "...today's activity is simply self-introductions?"

"Yes." The zombie waiter finally had the chance to make a complete statement. "Hotel, tidying rooms. Guests, first floor, get familiar, introduce. Kitchen, dinner, preparing. Wish, happiness."

"Because the hotel rooms are still being tidied and the kitchen is preparing dinner, we guests are to stay on the first floor and get to know each other?" The goth lady had already found a bench in the hall to sit on. Her red-streaked long hair was neatly pinned back, and she wore a cold expression.

"Correct." The zombie waiter nodded expressionlessly, then fell silent. It turned and walked into the stairwell. With a series of grating, unpleasant scraping sounds, it closed the folding iron door between the first-floor lobby and the stairwell, even locking it with a distinct *click*, trapping the players in the lobby.

Then, that stiff figure in the crumpled waiter's uniform disappeared into the darkness at the stairwell entrance.

If this was any other nightmare game, the players might have breathed a sigh of relief at the first day's activity arrangement, as if they'd been given a long safety period. However, those left in the hotel's first-floor lobby now were not just the players, but also the "family members" accompanying them.

The hall's furnishings were oppressive. Even with the incandescent light on the ceiling lit, the stale odor permeating the air remained. The wall-mounted TV still emitted eerie, raucous laughter, making it impossible to calm down and think clearly.

A player with a translucent humanoid figure draped over their shoulder tried to open the hotel's main door, but the door, which had been easily pushed open before, now stood completely immovable.

    They were trapped, as expected.

"Then let's introduce ourselves. This is pretty much the easiest part of any game," the gentleman said, standing by the window in the hall, looking disdainfully at the grimy windowsill and the nearby tables and chairs. "Since it's a mandatory activity, we'll follow the rules."

"You start," the goth lady glanced at him, her tone clearly unwelcoming.

"No problem." The gentleman spread his hands, offering what he thought was an elegant smile. "Some players present might recognize me. I'm Li Feiwen, ranked 288 in the Player Forum's seniority list. Though, I often think judging a player's ability by seniority is rather hasty."

Li Feiwen's tone carried a hint of dissatisfaction with the forum rankings, likely feeling the 288th spot was too low for him. He was impeccably dressed and handsome, with sharply defined features and a confident, easy smile that easily made him a focal point among the players.

"Ah, and my 'family member'." Li Feiwen looked down at his feet. His "family member" was a giant, dark-red-furred dog with three heads. One head resembled a hound's, another was that of a long-haired cat with patchy fur, and the third was a human head. The human head had no hair, and its face featured only a mouth frozen in a perpetual, silent scream—no eyes, no nose, and no discernible gender.

"This probably counts as a pet, right?" Li Feiwen glanced at his "family member" before quickly looking away with distaste. "People often say pets are part of the family. Ahem, I suppose that's normal."

"Of course, I have some impression of a few players here as well, having participated in games together before," Li Feiwen changed the subject, looking at the other players in the hall. "Like that lady over there, Tan Ying, who's always so abrasive."

Li Feiwen gestured towards the goth lady standing there.

"She might not be the nicest to talk to, but she's decent enough and quite capable. Everyone, don't mistake this formidable lady for some villain just because she looks grumpy." Li Feiwen kept calling her "lady," and though he was listing her strengths, his tone remained confrontational.

"Save the compliments. I don't want people thinking I'm some good person. Occasionally, I even feel like bad-mouthing certain players." Tan Ying gave Li Feiwen a cold glance before turning to the other players. "The young women and men in our team this time really need to be careful of this Mr. Li. While he's absolutely serious about clearing games, he's frivolous when it comes to matters of the heart."

Tan Ying's makeup and attire gave off an impression of cold, striking beauty with personality, but her steady, resolute gaze and the long sword she held were enough to convince the other players she was not just a pretty face, but an experienced player.

It was precisely because of this that everyone chose to believe what Tan Ying said.

"This time, you're not going to fall in love at first sight with some teammate again and put everyone in danger just to show off in front of them, are you?" Tan Ying's gaze towards Li Feiwen held a hint of wariness, clearly having suffered because of his actions in a previous game.

"It's been a while since we last met. What happened to that boy from last time who was so moved by you that he gave himself to you? You've broken up by now, right?" Tan Ying spoke bluntly about Li Feiwen's past actions, showing no mercy. "Who will catch your eye this time?"

"Is it that little sister over there?"

Tan Ying was referring to a girl sitting nearby who looked like a middle school student. The girl appeared very well-behaved and even carried a cute little bear backpack. The only discordant note was the white-dressed female ghost standing beside her. The ghost's somewhat tattered white dress was stained with red blood, and its long, messy hair covered its face, looking like a classic female ghost from real-world horror movies.

Su Bai, standing in the dark corner near the main door, immediately recognized the girl as an acquaintance—Wen Wen, the girl he had encountered at the Wang Family Mansion. However, in that game, Su Bai and Wen Wen had only met briefly. At that time, Su Bai's appearance had been altered by the Black Umbrella's makeup, so even if they met again here, it wouldn't be easy for her to recognize him.

"Do I seem like someone who enjoys trampling on the flowers of our nation in your eyes?" Li Feiwen appeared completely unbothered by Tan Ying's words.

"Then is it that little brother over there?" Tan Ying pointed to the boy who had been unable to hide his fear since earlier. "If you plan to make a move on him, you'd better be careful of the 'brother' beside him."

Perhaps hearing Tan Ying's words, the ghost with half its face a bloody mess standing beside the boy shot a warning look at Li Feiwen.

"Stop giving me a hard time. I've truly had enough of this fragile type of guy," Li Feiwen immediately waved his hands dismissively. Then, his gaze fell on the figure standing by the door, and a look of pleasant surprise appeared on his face. "If we're really talking about who catches my eye, it would have to be that one over there."

Following Li Feiwen's gaze, the others looked over and saw Su Bai standing there.

"Don't look at my mommy!" The little ghost standing nearby bared its teeth fiercely at Li Feiwen.

And as everyone curiously looked at Su Bai, among the players, only the person hidden in the black cloak stared with an inscrutable expression at the confident-looking Li Feiwen.
