Chapter 142: Chen Pingguo
by 黎家七七Chapter 142: Chen Pingguo
Su Taotao looked down at the information of the woman with an apple-shaped face and was surprised to find that her name was actually Chen Pingguo!
Su Taotao looked up at her apple-shaped face, wondering if her parents were lazy or just had a knack for foresight. Was she born with an apple-shaped face?
Chen Pingguo greeted the two children with a smile as soon as she sat down.
"Hello, my name is Chen Pingguo. My mom had a craving for apples when she was pregnant with me, and my dad often bought her apples. When I was born, my cheeks were red and round, just like an apple, so they named me Chen Pingguo. I’m 20 and have a high school diploma. My dad passed away last year, so I came to the base with my mom."
The girl had a friendly, pleasant look, with big, round, expressive eyes that suited her well, as she loved to smile. Only when she mentioned her father did a flicker of sadness cross her face.
Auntie Zhong liked her more and more, barely holding back from asking if Chen Pingguo had a boyfriend.
The two children also seemed to like her, smiling at her nonstop.
Chenchen hardly ever smiled at strangers on first meeting, which was quite rare.
It was clear that the two little guys really took to this cheerful, apple-faced sister.
"Do you like children?" Su Taotao asked.
Chen Pingguo kept glancing over at Chenchen and Dongdong. Upon hearing Su Taotao's question, she immediately nodded, "Yes! Are they going to be in the preschool class?"
She thought the kids were absolutely adorable and really took a liking to them.
"Yes, they will," Su Taotao replied.
Chen Pingguo beamed, "That's great!"
Su Taotao could see that she genuinely liked children.
"Do you have experience taking care of children?" Su Taotao asked again.
Chen Pingguo said, "Yes, my uncle's younger siblings are much younger than me, and I took care of them before coming here."
Su Taotao continued, "Managing a whole class of kids is different from looking after just a few. Do you think you can handle it?"
Chen Pingguo answered honestly, "I understand. I took this job because I genuinely love working with kids. I can handle it. My mom said that with my education, if I work hard in the factory, there are good chances for promotion.
But being a preschool teacher might seem like a dead-end job, repeating the same tasks year after year, dealing with different children. It’s repetitive and comes with a lot of responsibility. It requires a strong sense of duty and mission to do this job well.
I thought it through before applying. I’m not great at dealing with adults or navigating office politics, but I am very good at interacting with children. They’re so innocent and pure, and I really enjoy being around them. I can sing, dance, write, and draw. I can take good care of them."
Su Taotao admitted that this apple-faced girl had convinced her. Dealing with children indeed requires a strong sense of mission. Children are the future of our country. If preschool teachers don’t have the patience and love to help kids build good habits and give them a happy childhood, it’d be a real shame.
After interviewing these two, Su Taotao almost felt like skipping the next three candidates.
One had the experience to lead and guide the kids, while the other was full of passion, with enough love and patience to play with the children. They made a perfect team.
Su Taotao and Auntie Zhong exchanged glances, and Auntie Zhong nodded slightly, clearly very satisfied.
As per protocol, they told her to go home and wait for the official decision.
Compared to these strong candidates, the others didn’t measure up. One of them, whom Su Taotao found quite good, was asked if she would be willing to transfer to work in the factory if given the chance. She said she would, as she had only considered the preschool position because her child was at the right age to attend, and being a preschool teacher would allow her to look after her child, killing two birds with one stone.
Su Taotao then said that if she was hired, she could send her child to the preschool class and just pick them up before and after work.
The woman was overjoyed. Even though it wasn’t a done deal, being recognized by the boss and seeing a glimmer of hope in her career was a big deal.
The next interview was for production workers.
Except for the preschool teachers, who were categorized and interviewed separately upfront, everyone else was scheduled for interviews in the order of their serial numbers on the form to ensure fairness.
The interview progress was a bit faster than Su Taotao had expected. By the end of the morning, exactly twenty people had been interviewed. This was mainly because some candidates didn't quite meet the criteria, and Su Taotao asked just a few questions before moving on. If strictly following the requirements, fewer than half of these twenty people would be selected.
Of course, it might also be because the earlier interviews were relatively strict. Su Taotao wasn't about to lower her standards. If she couldn't select thirty-three people in the first round of interviews, she planned to hold a second round of interviews with those initially eliminated to fill the remaining spots.
The first candidate to be interviewed after lunch turned out to be Mo Jiazhe.
Auntie Zhong looked at her eldest son sitting upright and dignified across from her and couldn't help but feel like laughing.
For some reason, the more she looked at him, the more she thought he and Chen Pingguo from earlier would make a great pair.
She decided she had to find a chance to ask Chen Pingguo if she was seeing anyone.
Su Taotao followed the usual procedure and said, "Go ahead and introduce yourself."
Mo Jiazhe straightened his back and said, "Hello, Director Su, hello, Auntie Zhong. My name is Mo Jiazhe. I am the eldest son of Mo Gong and Auntie Zhong. I am twenty-two years old, 185 cm tall, and weigh 66 kg. I'm here mainly to let you both know that I'm sorry, but I want to give the security team a shot, so I won't waste your time with the factory interview. Auntie Zhong, this is the result of a night of deep consideration, and I hope you can support my decision."
With that, Mo Jiazhe bowed to Su Taotao and Auntie Zhong, then turned and walked out.
Auntie Zhong: "..."
Su Taotao: "..."
