Chapter 319: When This Man Gets Serious, It’s Deadly

Fu Yuanhang was dragged by Uncle Mu all the way to the outside of the broadcasting room, where they ducked under the window.

"Uncle Mu, what are you doing?"

Uncle Mu pressed a finger to his lips. "Shh!"

Zhou Weining had just finished her broadcast and was about to go join the festivities.

But she was stopped at the door by Mo Jiazhe. Blushing, she looked at him and asked, "What... what are you doing?"

Mo Jiazhe rubbed the back of his head, grinning widely. "I happened to hear your voice and thought I’d come see if you needed any help."

Zhou Weining shook her head. "No need. Men and women shouldn’t get too close—people might talk if they see us. You should go back!"

Mo Jiazhe stared at her blankly. "I didn’t mean anything weird by it. I just wanted to see you."

Zhou Weining: "Didn’t we just see each other this morning?"

Mo Jiazhe chuckled. "Did you like the osmanthus?"

Zhou Weining nodded, her face still red. "My roommate said it was very fragrant."

Mo Jiazhe: "I’ll pick some more for you next time."

Zhou Weining shook her head again. "No need. Mid-Autumn’s already passed—who’s still into osmanthus now?"

Mo Jiazhe: "Then what do you need? I’ll pick something else for you."

Zhou Weining stomped her foot. "I don’t need anything! Just go back already. There are so many people today—it’ll be awkward if someone spots us."

Mo Jiazhe smiled again. "Did your roommate grab you a seat? Want me to save one for you?"

Zhou Weining: "She did, she did! Just go already!"

Mo Jiazhe: "Alright, I’ll leave then. I’ll be sitting a few rows ahead of you—just call if you need anything."

With that, he gave her another smile and turned to leave.

Zhou Weining bit her lip as she watched his retreating figure, then covered her face with both hands, her expression equal parts shy and giddy.

Only after Mo Jiazhe had gone far enough did Zhou Weining finally let out a breath, turning off the lights and closing the door before following after him.

"Better than a movie, right?" Uncle Mu asked Fu Yuanhang after they’d left.

Fu Yuanhang was completely fed up. Glaring at him, he said, "Uncle Mu, this isn’t right. Brother Jiji will be angry if he finds out."

Uncle Mu put on an innocent face. "It wasn’t planned! It was just a coincidence!"

Fu Yuanhang ignored him and walked away.

Uncle Mu chased after him. "Okay, okay, I was wrong! I swear I won’t do it again—no more tailing my brother, alright?"

Fu Yuanhang: "Just ask him if you’re curious. But you can’t eavesdrop like this. If you do it again, I’m done with you."

The worst part? He’d dragged him into it—Fu Yuanhang wanted no part of it.

Unlike Uncle Mu, the Fu men were raised right—even small slip-ups made Fu Yuanhang uneasy.

Including Chenchen, once they learn to distinguish right from wrong, there's a clear line between right and wrong.

They have their own principles about what should and shouldn't be done, never crossing the boundary.

Uncle Mu is different—free-spirited and unrestrained, truly raised wild and free. He wouldn’t actually do anything bad, but he’s a real troublemaker, which is why he often gets scolded by Auntie Zhong.

It’s hard to believe kids so different could be best friends.

Uncle Mu slung his arm over Fu Yuanhang’s shoulder: "Alright, I get it, I messed up, I won’t do it again, I swear!

I wouldn’t do this with anyone else, but he’s my flesh and blood, you know? I was just curious about what my brother’s girl (my future sister-in-law) looks like. Now that I’ve seen her clearly, I really won’t do it again, I promise!"

Fu Yuanhang’s face relaxed a little: "If you do it again, don’t drag me into it, and don’t let me know."

Uncle Mu: "Got it, buddy, let’s hurry back, the movie’s gonna start."

    ……

After three consecutive days off, everything returned to normal the next day.

Su Taotao and Fu Zhengtu got a little carried away last night, so their sleep schedules were off this morning—it was already past seven, and there was no sign of them getting up.

Luckily, Fu Yuanhang was reliable. After finishing morning exercises with the kids and seeing they still hadn’t gotten up, he quickly lit the stove to cook noodles.

Having often watched Su Taotao cook, he learned by watching.

Fu Yuanhang first fried four eggs, then poured boiling water over them, making the broth rich right away.

Chenchen took Little Cloud to "fertilize" (water the plants) the vegetable patch outside and brought back some greens and scallions: "Here ya go, Uncle Shu!"

Fu Yuanhang took them and patted the little helper’s head: "Thanks. It’s about time—go wake Mom and Dad, would ya? Otherwise, they’ll be late for work."

"Okay!" Chenchen raced upstairs, with Bai Bai following leisurely behind.

The little one knocked on the door: "Daddy, Mommy, wake up! The sun’s burning your butts, you’ll be late!"

The couple, wrapped in each other’s arms, bolted awake, opening their eyes to see each other’s faces up close.

They smiled at each other, sharing a deep kiss, whispering at the same time: "Good morning."

After letting go, Su Taotao stretched and yelled: "Is that Chenchen knocking?"

    "Yes, Mommy! You’ll be late!"

"Alright, go downstairs. Mommy and Daddy will be right there."

"Okay! Uncle Shu is making noodles—they’ll turn to mush!" The little one obediently turned and headed downstairs.

Su Taotao: "Got it, Chenchen. You eat first, Mommy’s coming right away."

Fu Zhengtu handed Su Taotao her clothes, grinning: "It’s 7:15. If we don’t get up now, we really will be late."

Su Taotao kicked him with her long leg: "It’s all your fault—you overdid it last night."

Fu Zhengtu grabbed her smooth leg, unable to resist, and kissed it: "Isn’t the point of a holiday to enjoy ourselves? I thought you liked it too."

Su Taotao kicked him again: "If we keep this up, we won’t make it to work at all."

When this man got intense, the pleasure was real—but it almost killed you.

Fu Zhengtu, content and in a great mood, buttoned up her clothes, smoothed her hair, and kissed her again. "Go ahead and wash up first. I'll join you shortly."

By the time the couple finished washing up, Chenchen had already eaten half a bowl of noodles. Chenchen said, "Uncle Shu made it! Sooo good~~"

The perfectly cooked noodles were topped with a plump poached egg, floating in a rich, milky broth with fresh green vegetables and scallions—looked absolutely delicious.

Su Taotao took a bite and found the seasoning just right. "Nice job, Ah Hang. You've really learned my tricks. Even if I’m too busy to cook, you and Chenchen won’t go hungry."

"Sis, you taught me well," Fu Yuanhang replied with a smile.

Su Taotao piled a big helping of noodles onto his plate. "Good compliment gets you a treat."

Fu Yuanhang shook his head. "I'm good, sis. You eat."

Su Taotao said, "I don't eat much for breakfast."

Fu Yuanhang’s bowl had the least amount of noodles among the four—even less than Chenchen’s—clearly filled last with whatever remained.

Knowing Su Taotao’s usual portion, Fu Yuanhang didn’t argue. He watched as she transferred most of her noodles to his bowl, leaving herself just a poached egg and a small portion of noodles.

Aware of her love for greens, he had given her as many vegetables as possible.

Su Taotao truly loved these fresh homegrown greens. If she really went for it, she could easily eat half a pound by herself.

After finishing the greens and the poached egg, she still couldn’t finish the remaining noodles, which Fu Zhengtu finished off.

That's when Fu Yuanhang realized just how small his sister-in-law’s appetite really was.

After breakfast, it was time for work and school.

    Life went back to normal.

    ...

The main storyline still revolves around Su Taotao’s family. Her work partner is about to arrive, and Zhou Linglan will be here soon too.
