Chapter 6: The Insomniac CEO's Canary Goes Wild (6)

Gu Bing's breathing grew heavier, unsure if it was because Song Chuyi was too close or due to what he was about to say.

The hand pressing on his thigh exerted some force and warmth.

"Have you forgotten things because you sleep too little?"

Gu Bing's breathing returned to normal.

"No," his voice slightly cold, "the meals were usually prepared by Wang Assistant."

"Right." Song Chuyi poked his chest, "But Brother Wang didn't have time yesterday; he had to help you pass orders."

"Brother Wang also said that your meals will be my responsibility from now on!"

"Brother Gu, don't worry, I'll take good care of you~"

Gu Bing's eyes darkened slightly, "Brother Wang?"

"When did you get so familiar with him?"

"Yesterday!" Song Chuyi chuckled, "Brother Wang also said that if he has time off on the weekend, we can go out together."

"He mentioned there's a great murder mystery game place near the company..."

Before he could finish, Gu Bing interrupted him.

"Song Chuyi." Gu Bing grabbed Song Chuyi's wrist, applying some force, "Don't forget who you belong to."

Song Chuyi winced in pain, letting out a light cry.

Only then did Gu Bing realize something and quickly released his grip.

Song Chuyi rubbed his wrist, "Brother Gu, you have quite a strong grip."

He couldn't resist reaching out to pinch Gu Bing's arm, "You really have muscles, Brother Gu. Do you work out regularly?"

"I go to the gym three times a week." Gu Bing regained his composure.

Song Chuyi nodded in understanding, "No wonder you're in such good shape."

His hands itched, and his gaze fell on Gu Bing's abdomen, muttering under his breath.

"I wonder how many abs you have."

His hand was about to touch the abs when Gu Bing said, "We're here."

"Huh?" Song Chuyi let out a surprised sound, realizing the car had stopped without him noticing.

In the distance lay an endless sea, waves crashing onto the sand before receding quickly.

The wind mixed with the sound of the waves, drowning out their breathing.

Song Chuyi momentarily forgot about the abs, opened the car door, and got out, enthusiastically calling to the driver, "Driver Brother, come see the sunrise!"

Gu Bing paused mid-action, then sat back down.

After standing by the car for a few minutes without seeing Gu Bing, Song Chuyi couldn't help but look back.

Seeing him still seated inside, he leaned in.

"Brother Gu, why haven't you gotten out yet?"

Gu Bing looked at Song Chuyi with a half-smile, "Getting impatient?"

"Why weren't you in a hurry just now? You even had time to greet the driver?"

Song Chuyi scratched his head, feeling that Gu Bing's words were peculiar.

Is this the unique way villains speak?

"Not that impatient." He leaned forward more, causing his collar to slip slightly, revealing a patch of fair skin.

Gu Bing's gaze swept over the exposed skin.

"You can watch from the car too, Brother Gu."

He smiled brightly, "Just open the door."

He fully opened the car door and moved aside, "The view is pretty good here too."

Gu Bing fell silent for a moment.

Since becoming the CEO of the Gu Corporation, he rarely felt at a loss for words.

After a full minute, Gu Bing pinched the bridge of his nose.

    "Fine."

    "I'll give you face."

He stepped out of the car with a long stride.

Song Chuyi didn't know why Gu Bing suddenly changed his mind, but as his boss and target, what could he do? He could only follow along.

Shortly after Gu Bing got out of the car, the sky began to show a hint of orange.

A bright red ball leaped up from the endless sea, asserting its presence with undeniable force.

Song Chuyi was captivated by the beautiful scenery and for a moment forgot that Gu Bing was still beside him.

He stretched out his arms to embrace the sun.

    "Good morning, sun!"

He shouted loudly, and the sea breeze carried his voice far away, as if it truly reached the sun, which suddenly rose into the sky.

The first rays of sunlight unexpectedly fell upon Song Chuyi.

The golden light made his skin appear even paler, and his smiling eyes seemed more sacred, his long lashes fluttering delicately, stunningly beautiful.

Desire surged within Gu Bing, quickly overpowering his reason, shaking his mind to its core.

Gu Bing's Adam's apple moved in restraint, his voice tinged with a hint of hoarseness.

    "Childish."

Song Chuyi turned to look at him, chuckling. "Childish it may be, but it’s rare to watch the sunrise by the sea."

He patted Gu Bing on the shoulder. "Brother Gu, do you want to greet the sun too?"

"No need." Gu Bing's gaze lingered for a moment on Song Chuyi's hand before withdrawing. "I’m not childish."

He stood beside Song Chuyi, yet the sun already high in the sky refused to cast even a single ray of light upon him.

He stood in the shadows, along with the rising desire, falling back down.

His temples throbbed faintly, and the insomnia of recent days had started to make him restless again.

This time, however, there seemed to be something indiscernible mixed with the mere irritation.

Gu Bing raised his hand to rub his temples and left a parting remark.

"Get in the car when you’re done."

Song Chuyi stared at Gu Bing’s back, muttering a few words.

Then he turned to the driver, enthusiastically saying, "Uncle Driver, are you tired? If you are, we can find a substitute driver!"

The driver had a simple and honest face and smiled straightforwardly. "Not tired, I can drive."

    "Xiao Song, rest well."

Song Chuyi didn’t hesitate, responding boldly, "Sure thing!"

"Uncle Driver, we’re ready to go!"

"Brother Gu needs to get back to work."

The driver quickly returned to the driver’s seat, silently acting as a chauffeur.

In the backseat, Song Chuyi closed the car door and turned to look at Gu Bing, noticing he was closing his eyes to rest. He immediately kept quiet.

The car started smoothly, and the scenery outside the window flashed past rapidly, leaving no trace behind.

Inside the car, Song Chuyi secretly glanced at Gu Bing.

"Xiaotong, do you think Gu Bing is asleep?" he asked the system in his mind.

Xiaotong: "Based on his breathing rate, he’s not asleep."

Song Chuyi praised him immediately. "Xiaotong, you’re amazing! You can even detect that."

Xiaotong, with a slightly raised tail: "Hehe~"

Seeing that Gu Bing wasn’t asleep, Song Chuyi cautiously inched closer, inching and inching until he was only a fist away, then poked his arm with his index finger.

    "Brother Gu?"

    He called softly.

Gu Bing slowly opened his eyes. "Speak."

Song Chuyi patted his own shoulder. "Brother Gu, if you’re sleepy, you can lean on my shoulder and sleep."

Gu Bing glanced at his slender shoulders and smirked. "Why don’t you lean on mine instead."

"Sure!" Song Chuyi, completely missing the double entendre, tilted his head and leaned against Gu Bing’s shoulder.

    Gu Bing: ...
