byChapter 11: The Insomniac CEO's Canary Has Gone Wild (Part 1)
Song Chuyi didn’t catch the emphasis in his tone and simply replied, “Yeah!”
The corner of Gu Bing’s mouth curved upward, seemingly very pleased with his answer.
"Understood."
He tapped his right hand on the driver’s license, "Well done."
For him, this was indeed a pleasant surprise.
After showing Gu Bing the driver’s license, Song Chuyi put it away. Gu Bing didn’t say anything about it but urged him to rest in the lounge.
Song Chuyi had no choice but to go to the lounge, after all, humans were creatures that needed sleep.
The lounge wasn’t large; it only had a 1.5-meter bed, a small bedside table next to it with a lamp on top. That was all there was.
The entire lounge was as monotonous as Gu Bing himself.
Song Chuyi lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling in boredom.
A minute later, he suddenly sat up.
"Xiaotong, what do I do if I can't sleep?"
Xiaotong: "Lull Gu Bing to sleep?"
"No, he’s working now," Song Chuyi shook his head, "He definitely won’t relax and sleep."
Song Chuyi took out his phone, "I’ll continue learning how to please the benefactor and see if I can get him to sleep tonight."
Xiaotong: "Host, good luck!"
Song Chuyi spent the whole afternoon studying. By the time Gu Bing finished work, he realized it was already quite late.
He put away his phone and rushed out.
The lounge was directly connected to Gu Bing’s office. As soon as he opened the door, everyone in the office looked at him.
Song Chuyi: ?
Why were there still so many people in Gu Bing’s office during off-hours!
In front of the desk stood a row of people, each holding a folder, looking like they were about to give reports.
Gu Bing, who was listening to the reports, also looked up at him, "Awake?"
"Just sit over there, it’ll be half an hour."
Although his expression remained as calm as usual, his tone was gentler than when he was listening to his subordinates report.
Several subordinates exchanged glances, all seeing disbelief in each other’s eyes.
Is BOSS... in love?
Though they thought so, none dared to ask.
Everyone kept their heads down, not daring to look at Song Chuyi even once.
Gu Bing glanced at them and said sternly, "Continue."
The work reports continued, and Song Chuyi walked over to the sofa beside him and sat down.
He glanced at the time; it was already eight o'clock in the evening. Gu Bing was still working. No wonder he couldn’t sleep every night; with such high work pressure, who could sleep?
Half an hour later, the subordinates gradually left, leaving only Gu Bing.
Song Chuyi turned to look at him and tentatively asked, "Finished?"
"Mm." Gu Bing got up, "What do you want to eat for dinner?"
He asked naturally, as if he had done it many times before.
Song Chuyi also stood up and responded, "How about hotpot?"
The weather was getting cooler; it was the season for hotpot.
Gu Bing nodded casually, agreeing to his suggestion.
The hotpot restaurant Song Chuyi found was a small place with only two private rooms.
Inside the room, the white walls were slightly yellowed from the steam of the hotpot, a mark of long-term use.
From the moment Gu Bing entered the room, he felt uncomfortable. This cramped and suffocating environment was something he had never experienced before.
Even the air here reeked of dirt and poverty. Even with the door closed, the noisy sounds outside still seeped in.
He didn’t even sit down, just stood aside watching Song Chuyi, who had already sat down to order food, and frowned.
"Do you often come here?"
Song Chuyi nodded, "Yeah, back in college, we would come here to celebrate holidays with my roommates."
"It’s cheap, and during holidays, they offer a ten percent discount."
"A meal here costs only twenty yuan per person."
In Gu Bing’s view, twenty yuan couldn’t even buy a bottle of water, yet it was a feast for Song Chuyi during happy holidays.
Gu Bing suddenly realized that the little canary had never been part of his circle from the very beginning.
"Song Chuyi."
Gu Bing's eyes darkened, "Do you want to study abroad?"
Song Chuyi looked up in surprise, "Brother Gu, what do you mean?"
"You're very smart; you shouldn't be held back by poverty." Gu Bing played with the wolf-shaped brooch, "If you want to study abroad, I can provide the funds, but how far you go depends on yourself."
Song Chuyi rested his chin on his hands, looking at Gu Bing, his beautiful eyes shimmering like stars.
"You're really strange."
Humans are really strange.
Clearly hoping he would stay by his side, yet asking if he wants to study abroad.
"I'm not going abroad."
He gave a firm answer, "I want to stay by your side."
Gu Bing said nothing, only staring straight at Song Chuyi, as if trying to find the answer he wanted on his face.
In the end, they didn’t get to eat the hot pot.
Gu Bing, for some reason, pulled Song Chuyi out of the hot pot restaurant.
This time, he drove himself, with Song Chuyi sitting in the passenger seat, gripping the seatbelt nervously.
"Xiaotong, is Gu Bing angry?"
Xiaotong: "Huh?"
"Why isn't he saying anything? I’m starting to feel scared." Song Chuyi sighed inwardly, no wonder he’s the antagonist, his mood changes so quickly, leaving no time for reaction.
He was following the book’s advice exactly.
Pleasing the Sugar Daddy Technique #5: Firmly resolve to stay by the sugar daddy’s side and express your determination to never leave.
Isn’t he expressing it clearly?
Why is Gu Bing angry?
The car drove all the way and finally stopped in front of a building.
Song Chuyi glanced around and realized this wasn’t the Gu's Group Building, but another office building.
"Get out and follow me." Gu Bing’s attitude was unusually firm.
Song Chuyi obediently followed him into the building, and soon they arrived at a laboratory.
Even though it was already eight o'clock in the evening, the place was brightly lit, with people sitting in front of various instruments.
Gu Bing pointed to a man wearing a blue checked shirt sitting outside, "That one graduated from MIT and is currently the leader in new algorithm development, earning millions annually."
Then he pointed to a man in a gray checked shirt beside him, "That one is the core of the latest product research, also earning millions annually."
"That one is..."
Song Chuyi listened obediently, nodding occasionally in agreement, sometimes even exclaiming in amazement.
These people were indeed very impressive.
After explaining, Gu Bing looked at Song Chuyi, "Now, do you want to study abroad?"
Song Chuyi shook his head again, firmly, "No, I want to stay by your side."
Gu Bing’s eyes flickered, "Song Chuyi, staying by my side, you won’t get a single penny in the end."
Song Chuyi smiled, "I know, but some things are more important than money."
Gu Bing was taken aback, hearing only the sudden acceleration of his own heartbeat.
