Song Chuyi tilted his head to look at him, smirking as he spoke.
"*Even* Boss Gu gets carsick?"
Gu Yongnian gripped his phone, his tone indifferent.
"Mhm."
Laconic, flat.
Song Chuyi tutted. "Then Boss Gu should really work *that* out."
Gu Yongnian's gaze fell on that slender, alabaster waist, his eyes darkening as he let out another faint "Mhm" from his nose.
He seemed distracted—or perhaps stunned by the distracting sight before him.
As if oblivious to Gu Yongnian's wandering attention, Song Chuyi yanked off his T-shirt.
His fair skin was now boldly bared to Gu Yongnian's view.
Gu Yongnian tensed, planting a hand on the divider while the other gripped his knee. He leaned slightly to the side, his eyes fixed intently on Song Chuyi.
"Since when is President Song so *bold*?"
His voice carried a chill.
"Quite unlike the stuffy reputation of the Song Group."
Song Chuyi turned his head to look at him, amusement in his eyes.
"Boss Gu, we're both men. Why the modesty?"
"Or is it that Boss Gu actually..."
His tongue clicked, his voice laced with a hint of temptation.
"...has some *less-than-professional* thoughts about me?"
The moment those words were spoken, the car *went dead silent*.
Even Wang Assistant, who couldn’t hear the conversation in the backseat, felt the tension, his arms prickling with goosebumps as he gripped the steering wheel.
Wang Assistant eased off the gas.
Blaming yet another traffic jam ahead, the two in the back didn’t notice the change in speed.
The car fell silent, save for Gu Yongnian’s audibly labored breathing.
After saying that, Song Chuyi began changing clothes.
The inner layer was a crisp white shirt, perfectly fitted.
Song Chuyi took his time buttoning it, his blush-pink fingertips contrasting against the white buttons, daring him to look away.
Only after he had fastened every button from top to bottom did Gu Yongnian finally ground out, "*Not a chance.*"
He turned his head away and repeated, "*Absolutely not.*"
It seemed like an answer to Song Chuyi, yet also like an attempt to convince himself.
Song Chuyi’s lips curled slightly.
So hypocritical—clearly, he liked him a lot.
He couldn’t take his eyes off him during the change, yet now he was putting on an act again.
Not honest. But still…
Song Chuyi stole a glance at a certain place.
At least *that* part didn’t lie.
Song Chuyi wasn’t in a hurry to expose Gu Yongnian’s "lie." After changing, he tossed his old clothes into a fresh bag.
Not long after he finished, the car came to a stop.
Song Chuyi glanced outside. "Seems we’ve arrived."
He was the first to open the door and step out. After stretching with a yawn, he noticed Gu Yongnian still hadn’t left the car. Bending down, he leaned in.
"Boss Gu, coming out?"
Gu Yongnian held his phone in one hand and responded indifferently, "Hmm."
Even though there was a door on his side, he chose to exit through Song Chuyi’s instead.
Though the space was wide enough, two grown men still had to squeeze by. As they exited, Gu Yongnian’s large hand brushed against the back of Song Chuyi’s—gone in an instant, just a hint of heat lingering.
Before Song Chuyi could say anything, Gu Yongnian walked ahead.
Shrugging, Song Chuyi hurried after him.
Word got around fast that they’d shown up together at the Xu family’s charity auction. What was originally a small-scale event blew up into a huge deal within half an hour.
The Xu family’s representative was flooded with calls—everyone begging to get in.
Even the auction items were completely replaced due to their showing up together.
With the original venue now too cramped, the Xu family rushed to set up the bigger hall next door.
Half an hour later, Song Chuyi looked around the just-finished hall and said, grinning,
"Boss Gu, it seems our appearance together really shook things up."
On his way in, he had spotted a ton of big-name reporters. A red carpet had even been rolled out at the hotel entrance, with nearby celebrities already showing up.
Fortunately, they were seated in a private booth—otherwise, the press would’ve been all over them.
Gu Yongnian lowered his gaze, fingers moving over his screen like he wasn’t listening.
Never mind that the screen was off.
