Chapter 380 The Electronic Pet is a Spoiled, Greedy Little Brat (9)

Song Chuyi blinked with an innocent look, pretending he hadn’t done anything.

Ning Tong stared at him for a couple of seconds, noting his innocent look, and raised an eyebrow.

    “Was that you whistling?”

Song Chuyi put his hands behind his back and puffed out his chest.

    “You must’ve heard wrong.”

“My mouth was just acting up.”

Ning Tong looked at him with amusement. He hadn’t learned to handle documents but had fully picked up on human mischief.

He stood up and walked over to the screen, giving the little guy’s forehead a flick.

    “Whistling at others isn’t polite.”

Song Chuyi covered his forehead, his round eyes brimming with accusation.

“I wasn’t doing it to anyone else.”

He muttered, “It was just for you.”

Ning Tong’s fingers hesitated, curling slightly. Two seconds later, he sighed softly.

“With me, it’s just barely okay.”

Song Chuyi let out a soft, surprised sound, tilting his little head to look at Ning Tong.

    He looked puzzled.

Ning Tong rubbed the little guy's slightly pink forehead. “I’ll go change and then make you breakfast.”

    Song Chuyi nodded obediently, “Okay.”

Ning Tong turned to the bathroom, relieved.

Not long after, he came out. He’d already put on his formal suit, buttoned all the way up, covering his neck.

Song Chuyi sat obediently on the screen, admiring how handsome he looked, tilting his head.

Soon, a curtain popped up, and he messed around behind it for a bit. As Ning Tong approached, he pulled the curtain aside.

“Mr. Ning, we’re dressed the same!”

He pointed to his little suit and smiled.

    “Now we’re matching!”

Ning Tong glanced at him and chuckled softly.

    "A'Chu looks great in this."

His fingers brushed the screen, stopping at the top button of Song Chuyi's white shirt.

    "Make sure to button up."

    He reminded him.

Song Chuyi said "Oh" and obediently buttoned up.

Then he puffed out his chest proudly.

"Now I look just like you!"

Mr. Ning patted his head, saying, "That's right."

"Always button up when you dress, okay?"

    Song Chuyi nodded.

Anyway, Mr. Ning wouldn't strip him, so he could wear his clothes however he liked.

Song Chuyi spread his hands, looking eagerly at Mr. Ning.

"Mr. Ning, could you reimburse the suit?"

    Mr. Ning paused, then...

He smiled helplessly and said, "Alright, I'll reimburse it."

He picked up his phone and started recharging again.

Still, six yuan at a time.

While recharging, he also bought some food for the little one from the system mall.

Song Chuyi munched on corn beside him as Mr. Ning recharged.

Mr. Ning had only mentioned the little one's refusal to open a large recharge channel twice and didn't bring it up again.

When the little one is ready, he'll open it.

For now, he'll just keep recharging six yuan at a time.

Half an hour later, Mr. Ning reimbursed the suit, had breakfast, and left for work.

After eating, Song Chuyi lay in the screen, only snapping out of it when Mao came.

"Kitty, what brings you here?" he asked curiously.

Mao looked at him seriously and asked, "Yi Yi, want to go out and play?"

Song Chuyi glanced outside—it was still broad daylight.

    Kitty, you're so bold?

Before Song Chuyi could ask, Mao added, "Three hundred yuan for an hour."

    Song Chuyi was baffled.

    "Cat, you’ve gone rogue!"

"You’re even hustling for cash now!"

Mao tilted his head, his chubby little face scrunched up in confusion.

    "Gone rogue?"

    "Mao’s not bad, Mao’s awesome."

    "Mao finished Dad’s tasks early."

Song Chuyi chuckled softly. "You rushed through your work just to hang out with me?"

    "Three hundred bucks," Mao insisted.

Song Chuyi caught on. "So it's for making money."

"Fine, fine, I’ll let you earn your cash."

He jumped up. "Let’s hit the road and have some fun!"

Mao whisked Song Chuyi off to the external network.

Back at the company, Ning Tong caught wind of Mao’s move right away.

He frowned, a flicker of suspicion crossing his mind.

Mao hardly ever acts on his own. Why did he suddenly go to the external network this time?

He dug into what Mao had been up to and found that he had spent a long time in the funny video section of the external network.

Mao’s not exactly a fan of funny videos. Or rather, as an AI, Mao still doesn’t get human humor.

Ning Tong had a hunch. He dug deeper.

Sure enough, the kid tagged along with Mao.

Ning Tong hauled the two troublemakers back.

"What’s this mischief?" he frowned. "Mao, why did you take him to the external network?"

On the screen, Mao hung his head, avoiding Ning Tong’s gaze.

But Song Chuyi stood tall, puffing out his chest defiantly. "I hired Mao."

    "Three hundred bucks!"

    Ning Tong: ...

He turned to Mao. "What’s the cash for?"

Song Chuyi stepped forward, shielding Mao. "Even us AIs have our secrets!"

Ning Tong rubbed his temples, feeling very helpless.

"Is the little secret about Mao sneaking you onto the external network to watch funny videos?"

Song Chuyi coughed lightly, feeling a bit guilty.

    "I watch serious stuff too."

"It’s not like he only watches inappropriate videos."

    Ning Tong paused...

He glanced at Mao, who was hidden behind the kid, and didn’t blame it much.

"It’s a good thing Mao took the initiative."

    "It shows Mao’s getting smarter."

"We’ll let it slide this time," Ning Tong said. "Don’t go running off outside again."

"Mao, go take care of your own stuff."

Mao obeyed its dad’s order without hesitation and quickly disappeared from the screen upon hearing this.

With Mao gone, Song Chuyi felt even more confident.

"Mao’s money is safe with me—you can’t take it."

Ning Tong poked the little guy's forehead. "I wasn’t planning to take it."

"I’m not about to steal a kid’s money."

    Song Chuyi blinked. "Seriously?"

Ning Tong raised an eyebrow slightly. "Do I look like the type to steal from a kid?"

Song Chuyi actually thought about it for a moment.

Ning Tong’s loaded—he wouldn’t care about pocket change.

But he still couldn’t wrap his head around why Ning Tong wanted to destroy the world. What if he’s just that mean and would take his money?

    It’s really not certain!

Seeing the little guy think longer and longer, with an increasingly serious expression, Ning Tong couldn’t help but speak up.

"I’m the richest guy in the world—I don’t need your money."
