Song Chuyi quietly placed his hand over Si Song's mouth.
But Si Song was already used to having his mouth covered. Even with his mouth covered, he could still talk and snuggle up to Xiao Achu, so he didn’t resist.
Si Song gazed at Song Chuyi with a smile in his eyes and gently poked his cheek with a fingertip.
"You can't go out during bedtime, got it?"
Song Chuyi nodded obediently, then paused and shook his head.
Si Song arched an eyebrow.
"I get the nod, but what’s with the head shake?"
"You don’t want to sleep?"
Song Chuyi’s eyes sparkled as he held up two fingers and waved them.
Si Song frowned, "You’re saying to skip the second word, so it’s ‘don’t sleep’?"
Song Chuyi’s eyes shone even brighter.
Although he couldn’t speak in this world, Si Song surprisingly understood what he was thinking.
He nodded emphatically.
That’s right, he didn’t want to sleep.
He didn’t even need to sleep.
Si Song tousled his hair, "Not sleeping isn’t an option."
"Everyone needs to sleep."
"Since you’re here in my room, why not just sleep with me?"
Without waiting for a reply, Si Song went on:
"I saw Xiao Achu blink—that’s a yes, right?"
Si Song scooped him up, carried him to the bed, and gently tucked him in.
"Time to sleep."
Song Chuyi tucked his hands under the blanket, peeking out with just his eyes to gaze at Si Song.
His clear, bright eyes locked onto Si Song, making him raise a hand to cover them.
"Xiao Achu, you really shouldn’t look at me like that."
Song Chuyi’s lashes fluttered lightly.
His long lashes brushed softly against Si Song’s palm, sending a tingling sensation through him.
Si Song’s throat tightened, his voice turning slightly husky in that moment.
"Don’t look at me like that."
He muttered it under his breath.
Suddenly, a knock came at the door, and the register's sharp voice echoed from the entrance.
"Open up! Open up!"
The voice was sharper than last night, dripping with anger.
Last night, Si Song had fallen asleep and didn't hear the knocking, but today he heard it clearly.
He crossed his arms and glanced at the door.
"Hey Xiao Achu, should I open the door?"
Of course, Song Chuyi didn’t answer.
Si Song smirked and sauntered toward the door, his long legs carrying him effortlessly.
On the bed, Song Chuyi quietly tugged the blanket over himself.
He smacked his lips, bored, craving some melon seeds to snack on.
Si Song swung the door open, and the register growled menacingly.
"Heartbreak! Total heartbreak!"
"Why the heartbreak, huh?"
The voice wasn’t asking—it was practically shouting.
Si Song crossed his arms and gave the register a once-over.
Seeing the wooden stick beneath it, he chuckled.
"No legs, so you’re using a stick? Really?"
"No footsteps? Don’t even try—it’s not fooling anyone."
"Your knocking’s way too loud. It’s late—don’t you know people are trying to sleep?"
"Your register’s what, a few pages? Isn’t my info in there?"
"Go on, read it."
The register seemed stunned, clearly not used to someone talking back.
It flipped a page, revealing Si Song’s info.
"Si Song: Jobless. Heartbreak cause: Who knows?"
Song Chuyi slipped out of bed and tiptoed toward the door.
The register spotted him and started shaking violently, screeching:
"Cohabitation! Not allowed!"
"Absolutely not!"
"No way!"
Accompanied by this piercing shout, the register darted towards Si Song.
Si Song nimbly dodged, holding a tool in his hand, his gaze icy and stern.
The register appeared to realize it couldn't defeat Si Song and suddenly turned its direction, lunging at Song Chuyi instead.
Song Chuyi blinked softly and lifted his hand to catch the register.
Register, confused: ???
Song Chuyi lightly tapped the register.
The register hesitated for a moment and then calmed down.
Si Song arched an eyebrow, "Xiao Achu, you're really something."
"Even a big monster like the register can be tamed."
It's worth noting that even Lou Lanyao got hurt by this thing, but who knew it'd be so tame with Xiao Achu?
Song Chuyi looked at Si Song, then at the register, cocking his head slightly.
This thing... is kinda weird.
He felt like the register was guilty towards him.
But why would a dungeon monster feel guilty towards an NPC?
Song Chuyi flipped through the register and found his own information.
"Song Chuyi: Orphan, mute, moved into the Heartbreak Apartment a year ago, can cook and make desserts but is socially anxious, has never met him."
Song Chuyi noticed the word "him."
Who's this 'he'?
Why'd the register write this specifically?
Si Song peeked over to take a look, arching an eyebrow slightly.
"So my Xiao Achu's got social anxiety, huh?"
"Then how come you're not shy around me?"
"Is it because you li..."
He paused, not finishing the word "like."
He didn't want to violate the final rule of the Heartbreak Apartment yet, but Xiao Achu's so smart, he must understand what he means.
"I feel the same way about Xiao Achu."
Song Chuyi: ...
If possible, he wished there was a mute potion among the dungeon's props.
Song Chuyi flipped through the register again, and it also contained information about the other three players.
The register had different evaluations for each of them, but they all shared one common trait: they were all "jobless wanderers."
What was even stranger was that there was no information about Shang Ning in this log.
Song Chuyi glanced at Si Song, curious about his thoughts.
But when Si Song noticed him looking, he smirked and ruffled Song Chuyi's hair with his large hand.
"Is Xiao Achu feeling sleepy?"
He grabbed the log, tossed it out the door, and slammed it shut with a loud bang.
"Alright, now we won't be bothered."
Song Chuyi's lips twitched.
He perked up his ears, listening for any noise outside.
But it was eerily quiet. The record didn't make a sound after being thrown out.
Si Song gently pinched his cheek.
"What's Xiao Achu thinking about?"
"Are you wondering what to eat tomorrow morning?"
"Don't worry, get some rest, and you'll wake up to a warm, hearty breakfast tomorrow."
Song Chuyi shook his head.
Si Song pretended to be surprised, his ears turning slightly red.
"Is little Achu thinking about me?"
He lifted her up.
"That's really awkward."
"If little Achu is so straightforward, I might just turn into a real villain."
Song Chuyi couldn't resist poking the little white bun in his mind.
"Xiaotong, do you have any poison to mute Si Song for now?"
Xiaotong: "Host, I don’t have any."
Song Chuyi was just joking around, of course not expecting Xiaotong to produce any such thing.
He glanced at Si Song, then looked away, feigning ignorance.
But Si Song thought he was absolutely adorable, and if it weren't for the fact that they were in the Heartbreak Apartment, he really wanted to kiss him.
