After letting his thoughts wander, Song Chuyi suddenly spoke.
"Did you hear what I was just thinking?"
Si Yuanye nodded slightly.
Song Chuyi hummed and suddenly leaned in.
"Then why haven't you shared the good stuff with me?"
Si Yuanye hesitated for a moment. "What good stuff?"
"You know, those *Spring Palace* illustrations," Song Chuyi said confidently, "You must have been secretly studying them behind my back!"
"Let me see! Let me see!"
He had never seen anything like that in this world.
Si Yuanye pulled out a few storybooks from his spatial ring. "I only have these."
Song Chuyi took the storybooks and started reading them with great interest.
Occasionally, he would comment.
"Wow, this scumbag is really despicable, cheating on his wife and fooling around with others."
"There's even a true and false young master trope, impressive!"
"Scummy fathers are everywhere, it seems."
"They’re kissing! They’re kissing!"
…………
Si Yuanye listened quietly to Song Chuyi’s comments.
Sometimes Song Chuyi would speak aloud, and other times he would only think it, but no matter which, Si Yuanye could hear it clearly, as if there were no secrets between them.
It was as if he were transparent in front of Song Chuyi.
He could trust and rely on him completely.
For the first time, Si Yuanye found himself thinking such a thought.
To rely on him.
To rely on this always smiling youth.
Without realizing it, Si Yuanye let out a low chuckle.
Song Chuyi turned his head, his eyes filled with confusion.
"What are you laughing about?"
"I just feel... very happy." Even Si Yuanye couldn’t believe he had said such a thing.
"Happiness"... This was a word that should have been far away from him, yet now it had come out of his own mouth.
He took Song Chuyi's hand, "A'Chu, you've been the one teaching me."
"Now, I want to teach you something as well."
"What?" Song Chuyi became interested, closing the storybook, "What is it? Tell me quickly!"
Si Yuanye scooped him up by the waist and in a flash, they were back in the bedroom.
Inside the palace, all the other demons had retreated, leaving only the two of them.
Si Yuanye applied the knowledge he had learned from the storybook to Song Chuyi.
Feeling dazed from the kisses, Song Chuyi muttered, "So that's what you were planning all along!"
Si Yuanye seemed to chuckle softly.
Without Song Chuyi needing to say anything, Si Yuanye could naturally sense from his heart what he needed.
Where to kiss, or the right pressure, he could "sense" it clearly, making Song Chuyi more comfortable.
Dazed, Song Chuyi wasn’t sure whether he had spoken or not.
Either way, Si Yuanye was really amazing.
Even when he bent down to wipe Song Chuyi’s sweat, he did it just right, hitting the right spot.
In short, it was incredible!
Originally, Song Chuyi had wanted to take control, but he was so comfortable being pampered that he simply lay back and enjoyed it.
Taking control would have to wait for another day.
Being a demon, Si Yuanye kept Song Chuyi indoors for an entire month, away from the sun.
He finally realized, Si Yuanye really wasn’t human!
When Si Yuanye carried him out to enjoy the sun, his head drooped, and he fell fast asleep in Si Yuanye’s arms.
While he slept, outside the Dead City.
Many human cultivators finally couldn’t endure the torment of sleeplessness and began tentatively accepting the demons’ presence.
This was a challenging process.
After all, they had been taught from a young age that demons were evil, and they should eliminate them, which was the proper thing to do.
But now, they were being asked to accept demons wholeheartedly, which was like overturning the beliefs they had rebuilt.
However hard it was, compared to the torment of sleeplessness, they still mustered the courage to take this step.
Some pretended to be kind, attempting to deceive the barrier, but were quickly thrown back by it.
Some truly had good intentions, and after safely entering the Dead City through the barrier, they cautiously explored this somewhat unfamiliar world.
The demons in the Dead City also curiously observed these human cultivators who had entered.
Some gentle-natured demon girls initiated conversations and got along with the human cultivators.
The cultivators who could pass through the barrier were naturally kind-hearted, and upon seeing the demon girl, they became even more gentle.
Humans and demons gradually came to understand each other through such cautious probes, and perhaps one day, they might truly be able to live together in peace.
————
Grandfather Dan Wen and grandson Dan Yong still hadn’t developed an antidote.
They hadn’t slept in a long time either.
Dan Wen was fine, having lived for many years.
Dan Yong, however, was struggling. As a cultivator specializing in elixirs, his constitution was inherently weaker than other cultivators, and his realm was even worse.
But even now, he was only at the Foundation Building stage.
If not for his skill in refining elixirs, he wouldn’t have a place in the Tian Xuan Sect.
Dan Yong, who hadn’t slept for nearly two months, let out a heavy sigh and spoke.
"Grandfather, will we never be able to sleep again in our lives?"
Dan Wen silently patted Dan Yong's shoulder.
Though he didn’t say anything, he seemed to have given an answer.
Just then, Song Chuyi ran over and tossed two elixirs to Dan Yong.
"These will work!"
Before they could react, he dashed away, as if he had never been there.
Dan Yong: ?
He and his grandfather exchanged a glance and asked tentatively.
"Was that Song Chuyi?"
Dan Wen nodded and picked up one of the elixirs to examine it carefully.
He couldn’t detect anything unusual; it seemed to be a standard Calming Heart Elixir.
"I’ll try it first," Dan Wen said as he took the elixir.
Within moments, he fell to the ground and slept soundly.
A glimmer of surprise flashed in Dan Yong’s eyes.
He first moved his grandfather to the bed, then returned to his room, took a clean bath, and changed into fresh undergarments.
Lying down with his hands on his stomach, finding this position the most comfortable, he smiled in satisfaction. He then took the elixir Song Chuyi gave him.
Soon, drowsiness overcame him, pulling him into darkness as he fell asleep.
Meanwhile, Song Chuyi quickly distributed the elixirs to those who urgently needed them.
In no time, a large number of people in the demon city fell asleep.
The sound of snoring was deafeningly loud, loud enough to be heard miles away.
After completing all this, Song Chuyi wiped the sweat from his brow and looked at Si Yuanye, who had been by his side.
"Would you like one?"
"You’ll fall asleep right away after taking it."
"Go to sleep! Don’t keep bothering me!"
A slight smile tugged at Si Yuanye's lips. "I’ll sleep with you."
"Okay then." He put away the elixirs. "But I can’t sleep yet. I need to refine more elixirs."
The elixirs he refined after Si Yuanye made him sleep would let him sleep once taken, which is why he was eager to refine more.
After all, there were still human cultivators outside eagerly waiting to sleep.
Si Yuanye agreed with a "Sure," and helped him refine, distribute, and place the elixirs into the cauldron in Dead City.
Once everything was completed, Si Yuanye spoke up.
"A'Chu, will you sleep with me for a while, okay?"
