byChapter 17: The Insomniac CEO's Canary Runs Wild (17)
After dealing with the two men in black, Song Chuyi noticed his clothes were wet and decided to return to the hotel to change.
Just as he started taking off his clothes, the door opened from the outside.
Song Chuyi instinctively turned to look at the door.
Gu Bing stood there, still holding the doorknob, maintaining the motion of opening the door.
From Gu Bing’s perspective, Song Chuyi was only wearing a pair of shorts, sitting on the bed. The thin blanket barely concealed anything.
His slim waist, visible through the gap, gleamed white.
"Brother Gu, you're back!"
Song Chuyi’s voice rang in Gu Bing’s ears, pulling him back to reality.
He quickly closed the door. "Yeah, I’m back."
Song Chuyi, while changing his clothes, asked, "Are we going to the hot springs now?"
Gu Bing took a few steps forward and saw the wet clothes in the laundry basket.
The clothes were soaked, dyed a dark ink color.
His eyes darkened. "Did you go out?"
Song Chuyi was putting on his pants. "Yeah, I went out for a bit and ran into an old high school classmate."
"High school classmate?" Gu Bing repeated, then suddenly asked, "First love?"
Song Chuyi, buttoning his shirt, was taken aback. "Huh? What first love?"
"I haven’t even been in a relationship yet."
A hint of a smile appeared on Gu Bing’s lips, and his brows relaxed.
"You’re still young; focus on your career and make money first."
"Sure thing!" Song Chuyi adjusted his shirt collar. "Brother Gu, did you resolve the issue with your branch office?"
"It’s resolved." Gu Bing felt rather pleased. "Let’s go to the hot springs."
Song Chuyi had already prepared his hot spring attire, waiting for Gu Bing to say those words.
Their hotel had indoor hot springs, so they didn’t need to leave the premises.
Gu Bing reserved a private pool, where only he and Song Chuyi would be.
The water was hot, and steam filled the air, obscuring their figures. They couldn’t see each other clearly.
Sometimes, not seeing clearly can be more alluring than seeing clearly.
Gu Bing leaned against one side, playing with the wolf-shaped brooch Song Chuyi had given him.
Water splashed from the opposite side, rippling toward Gu Bing’s chest.
He looked up, and through the mist, saw Song Chuyi’s hand raised—slender and fair, looking exceptionally beautiful.
Gu Bing recalled the scene when he opened the door earlier, his eyelashes fluttered rapidly, and his Adam’s apple bobbed involuntarily.
A greedy desire arose within him, even he wasn’t sure what he was thinking.
Song Chuyi seemed to say something, and he vaguely responded, "Okay."
The water splashed louder, the mist swirling around the vast pool, concealing someone’s heart.
When Gu Bing came to his senses, Song Chuyi was gone.
Gone?!
Gu Bing’s pupils constricted, and he stood up abruptly.
Meanwhile, Song Chuyi had gone to the vending machine at the end of the corridor because he felt thirsty.
Wearing a loose bathrobe that emphasized his slender frame, he bent down to retrieve the bottled water that rolled out of the vending machine.
At that moment, a pair of leather shoes appeared before him.
Song Chuyi looked up at the person.
The man was tall, wearing gold-rimmed glasses, and looked decent enough, but his eyes held a glint of interest that made Song Chuyi dislike him.
Song Chuyi held the water bottle and asked, "The boss of the casino?"
Fang Ze’s eyes flickered with surprise. "You’re smart."
"I’m Fang Ze."
Song Chuyi snorted. "Here to avenge your two lackeys?"
Fang Ze casually removed his glasses, revealing his narrow eyes, and let out a sneer.
"Avenge them? Hardly."
"I just heard they couldn't beat you and was a bit curious."
As these words fell, a gust of wind rushed toward Song Chuyi.
Song Chuyi slightly turned his head to dodge the attack. At the same time, he instantly struck out, grabbing Fang Ze's wrist and giving it a light squeeze, causing the glasses in his hand to be thrown away.
The glasses soared high and then quickly fell.
The lenses hit the ground with a crack, shattering.
Fang Ze fell to the ground, looking at Song Chuyi in disbelief.
He had at least learned some moves, yet he couldn't even last two rounds against a teenager?
Hastening footsteps echoed from the end of the corridor. Song Chuyi's ears twitched, and he looked at Fang Ze, whispering, "You tripped on your own, got it?"
Fang Ze: ?
After saying this, Song Chuyi waved at the figure rapidly approaching, "Brother Gu!"
Gu Bing hurried over, frowning, "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine," Song Chuyi obediently replied, "This gentleman inexplicably tripped."
Gu Bing grabbed Song Chuyi's hand and quickly examined him, noticing a small wound on his hand that was oozing blood.
"You're injured; we need to go to the hospital right away."
The already standing Fang Ze: ?
For a wound that would heal in less than two minutes, they needed to go to the hospital?
Ha.
Song Chuyi also felt this wound didn't require a hospital visit. He waved his hand and smiled, "No need, I'll put a band-aid on it when I get home."
Gu Bing checked the small wound again and reluctantly nodded, "Alright."
He shielded Song Chuyi behind him and looked at Fang Ze, "President Fang, if your foot is unstable, you should go to the hospital. Don't randomly trip and scare people."
Fang Ze shrugged, pulling out a spare pair of glasses from somewhere and putting them on, "Boss Gu, long time no see."
He glanced behind Gu Bing and raised an eyebrow lightly.
"I heard Boss Gu recently took in a little canary, so this must be him?"
Gu Bing snorted coldly, "You're asking too much."
Song Chuyi, protected behind Gu Bing: ??
These two know each other?
Would Fang Ze expose him?
No way!
The eleventh tactic for pleasing a benefactor: Appear vulnerable and easy to bully, not too strong.
He had to maintain a fragile and pitiful appearance in front of Gu Bing!
Song Chuyi peeked out from behind Gu Bing, giving Fang Ze a threatening look.
Fang Ze: ...
He looked at Gu Bing with a half-smile, "Boss Gu, watch your little canary closely, or it might turn into a bird of prey one day."
Gu Bing's eyes narrowed, exuding an intimidating aura, "No need for President Fang's concern."
Fang Ze shrugged. He had warned Gu Bing; whatever happens next isn't his fault.
But thinking about the proud and dignified Gu Bing being toyed with by that teenager was truly amusing.
After exchanging a few pleasantries, Fang Ze left.
Seeing that Fang Ze hadn't exposed him, Song Chuyi secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
Hmm... Maintained the image of a delicate and easily pushed-over character in front of the antagonist today!
