Chapter 460: Pure Love Little Invisible (2)
by 棠棠Chapter 460: The Unseen Boy in a Pure Love Story (2)
The freshman schedule was packed with classes, with just a one-hour break for lunch and rest daily, and the rest of the time spent in lectures.
Originally, the school required all freshmen to live on campus, but Song Chuyi's parents submitted an application to the school.
Due to his special circumstances, he was exempt from dorm life.
When Song Chuyi’s classes ended at 6 p.m., he walked out of the school and spotted his father’s car parked at the gate, heading toward it.
Seeing him return, Dad smiled and asked, "How’d it go today?"
Chuyi got into the car and replied, "It was fine."
"But there are a lot of classes, so I didn’t have much time to look at my phone."
Dad drove while saying, "Can’t you sneak a peek in class?"
"You’re in college—cut yourself some slack."
Chuyi turned his head to look at his father. His eyes crinkled with faint wrinkles, and his usually stern face now held a tentative smile.
"Dad, I want to go to *Kongling Temple* this weekend."
He averted his gaze. "I heard wishes granted there are real."
His dad chuckled. "Alright, I’ll let Mom know. We can all go together."
Chuyi shook his head. "I’d rather go alone."
"Didn’t you and Mom already plan to meet friends for dinner this weekend?"
He mustered a smile. "I’ve been feeling better lately. You and Mom don’t need to accompany me."
At the red light, the car stopped.
Dad looked at his son.
Since childhood, Chuyi had always had a fading presence—so weak that even he and his wife would miss him.
Let alone others.
Perhaps because of this, his son’s personality had grown a bit unhinged.
He often acted out just to draw attention.
They had tried many solutions and even taken him to therapists, but nothing worked.
And as Chuyi grew older, he faded even more.
Sometimes, even Dad himself would blank on him.
Along with this came Chuyi’s more erratic behavior.
He sighed inwardly, then said, "This weekend, we’re having dinner with Uncle Gu’s family."
"Do you remember? The one who carried you as a kid."
Chuyi gave a small shake of his head. (Note: *Kongling Temple* is a temple known for granting wishes.)
"It's understandable you don't remember. You were just a kid back then," Song Chuyi's father said with a smile. As the traffic light turned green, he started the car and drove home.
That was the end of that conversation.
After returning home, Song Chuyi had dinner with his parents and helped with the dishes.
After dinner, he went back to his bedroom and picked up his textbook to study.
In his mental space, Xiaotong's constant sunflower seed cracking echoed endlessly.
"Host, what should we do next?"
There were no mandatory tasks, nor any need to stop a villain from destroying the world—it was pretty much a holiday world.
Song Chuyi picked up a pen and took notes in his textbook while replying leisurely,
"Study hard, get a master's degree, and ideally go straight for a Ph.D."
Xiaotong: "Wait, Host? Aren’t we going out to have fun?"
Song Chuyi chuckled softly. "No, I want to live an ordinary human life."
He had almost forgotten what ordinary people's lives were like.
Song Chuyi put down his pen and poked the little white bun in his mental space.
"Xiaotong can go play in cyberspace."
"This world doesn’t require energy storage, so use it freely without worry."
"As long as you don’t violate this world’s internet laws."
"Go have fun."
Xiaotong lit up with excitement.
Getting to play in cyberspace was perfect.
"Roger that, host!" Xiaotong was overjoyed. "Don’t worry, I won’t get you in any trouble! I’ll follow all the rules!"
After saying that, it grew even more excited. "Off to cyberspace~"
Xiaotong was far more advanced than this world’s internet systems, so it could explore freely without detection.
Sensing Xiaotong had gone off to play, Song Chuyi continued focusing on his studies.
Gradually, night fell.
He closed the book, washed his face, and lay down in bed.
Though he wasn't sleepy, though he couldn’t sleep at all, he still closed his eyes.
Well... ordinary people needed sleep, of course.
The room was silent, with only the sound of his light breathing.
At seven in the morning, Song Chuyi opened his eyes—clear and alert, completely awake.
Same as yesterday, after saying goodbye to his father, Song Chuyi entered the school.
The first class was a large lecture, and the lecture hall was packed. He still sat in the last row.
The students around him didn’t even notice him, talking among themselves.
"I heard Gu Yongnian likes nice, high-achieving people."
"That’s way too broad. Any specifics?"
"Exactly, who doesn’t like nice, high-achieving people?"
"Who knows. I heard Gu Yongnian has never been in a relationship. Maybe even he doesn’t know what kind of person he likes."
"Not necessarily. Gu Yongnian’s gotta know what he likes."
"Why even bother? Like he’d ever go for us. Sigh."
"What if?"
Everyone cracked up, making the classroom buzz before the lecture began.
Song Chuyi turned his head to look out the window. The morning sunlight was warming his skin.
Suddenly, a shadow crossed over him.
Song Chuyi blinked and saw Gu Yongnian standing outside the window, carrying a textbook.
He knocked on the window.
Before Song Chuyi could react, the boy sitting in front of him quickly opened the window.
The class bell rang at that moment. Gu Yongnian stepped onto the windowsill and stepped right in.
The boy who opened the window looked thrilled, unable to take his eyes off Gu Yongnian.
But after entering, Gu Yongnian took the seat next to Song Chuyi.
He looked briefly disappointed, but the professor arrived so he had to turn back.
Song Chuyi only glanced at Gu Yongnian before looking back at the blackboard, taking notes.
Beside him, Gu Yongnian pulled out company documents, working on them while half-listening.
He just didn’t care whether someone was sitting to his left or not.
When the bell rang, Song Chuyi hugged his books and left.
Gu Yongnian’s roommate hurried over. "Brother Gu, why are you sitting way back here?"
"I even saved you a seat in the front row."
Gu Yongnian had just signed the last document. He closed the file, his voice cool.
"Was running late. Took a shortcut."
Going through the window was obviously the fastest route—taking the main entrance would have meant a long detour.
The roommate didn’t dwell on it, sitting down in the seat Song Chuyi had just vacated. Feeling the heat, he complained,
"It’s already September, but the sun’s still blazing."
"The seat’s still warm."
Gu Yongnian packed up his documents and gave a casual glance.
"This seat was taken."
