Chapter 108: Why Are There So Many Guests Today?

Wei Sanniang returned to the inn, took a brief rest, and changed her clothes.

She said she would definitely come over to keep watch over her nephew Wei Feng in the evening.

Wei Laosi had cried several times and was gradually regaining her composure, but her face was still pale as she sat by Wei Feng’s unconscious bed, looking half-dead.

Wei Pozi deliberated for a moment and decided to send Xingxing to Yujia Commercial Store first.

Xingxing was a bit sad. She stepped forward and gently held Wei Feng's hand hanging off the side of the bed, then turned to Wei Pozi and whispered softly, “Grandma, don’t worry, Uncle will be fine.”

Wei Pozi felt a lump in her throat.

She didn’t say much, just rubbed Xingxing’s cheek with her rough palm, “Grandma will take you to our shop. You’ll sleep with the brothers tonight.”

Xingxing was a bit worried and looked at Wei Pozi with her clear, innocent eyes, “Grandma, where will you sleep?”

“I’ll stay here with your Fourth Granduncle and Uncle Feng,” Wei Pozi’s voice softened.

Xingxing understood and didn’t ask any more questions.

When Wei Pozi brought Xingxing to Yujia Commercial Store, Yu Sanbao was busy introducing products to customers in the shop.

Yu Sanbao had traveled to many places, was well-informed, and had a natural way with people. He chatted easily, making the shop lively and bustling.

After finishing with a customer, Yu Sanbao took a few sips of water and then noticed Wei Pozi and Xingxing.

Yu Sanbao called out in surprise, “Mother!” but then saw that Wei Pozi’s expression was not right, somewhat serious.

Yu Sanbao hesitated, “Mother... What’s wrong? Is the wedding banquet over now?”

At this, Wei Pozi’s expression became even more serious.

She shook her head and briefly recounted the incident at the wedding banquet to Yu Sanbao.

Yu Sanbao was so shocked he couldn’t speak.

After recovering, he went behind the counter and took out some silver, “Mother, this is the shop’s earnings from the past half month. Your cousin will probably need money for medical expenses.”

Because of Yu Sanbao’s excellent selection of goods, despite its small size, Yujia Commercial Store had always been bustling with customers, quickly achieving a profit.

Though a few taels of silver per month might not mean much to the wealthy, for a small, newly established shop and a farming family like the Yus, it was already quite good.

Wei Pozi didn’t say much and put away the roughly four taels of silver.

“Xingxing will stay here. Let her sleep with Huai Geer and the others tonight. She’s very well-behaved and won’t cause trouble,” Wei Pozi instructed, “I’m heading back to the clinic now.”

Yu Sanbao nodded, and just as another customer arrived, Wei Pozi gave Xingxing a few more instructions before leaving.

While serving customers, Yu Sanbao found a moment to instruct Xingxing, “Xingxing, play in the shop for a while. When Third Uncle finishes up, I’ll take you to buy some snacks.”

“Third Uncle, you work hard, Xingxing will sit here!” Xingxing replied quickly, finding a small stool in a corner of the shop and sitting obediently at the entrance.

Yu Sanbao looked at Xingxing with satisfaction and smiled as he continued to serve customers.

However, with a steady stream of customers entering the shop, Yu Sanbao became increasingly busy, and during a brief pause, he sensed something was off.

Why are there so many guests today...

Before he could figure it out, another wave of customers flooded in, keeping him busy non-stop, introducing products, collecting money, and seeing off customers.

Fortunately, a regular customer came in, buying goods and chatting with Yu Sanbao, finally providing an answer to his confusion.

"Is that little girl outside your daughter?" the regular customer smiled, “Your daughter is really cute.”

Today, Xingxing had attended the wedding banquet, and Wei Pozi had dressed her up carefully.

Xingxing’s clothes were made by Bai Xiaofeng, a light yellow cotton fabric, well-fitted, making the little girl look like a bud about to bloom. Bai Xiaofeng had also embroidered a few small orchids on the dress with green thread, adding a touch of cuteness and elegance that made people stop and stare.

Xingxing’s shoes were made by Su Rouer, clean and neat, with two rabbit ears added to the top, making her tiny feet look like adorable little bunnies.

Wei Pozi had tied Xingxing’s hair into two small pigtails with red ribbons, each ending in a beautiful small bead that dangled beside the pigtails, swaying with Xingxing’s movements, making her irresistibly cute.

Not to mention, Xingxing was naturally adorable. Wei Pozi had been feeding her well lately, and Xingxing’s cheeks had finally filled out. The chubby little girl, with her big round eyes, could melt anyone’s heart with just one glance!

Passersby couldn’t help but be drawn to Xingxing, which in turn drew attention to the relatively small Yujia Commercial Store.

Yu Sanbao finally understood the reason but became a bit anxious, fearing someone might try to kidnap their adorable Xingxing!

Fortunately, it was time for Huai Geer and the others to finish school.

Seeing their long-missed sister, the young Yujia boys were incredibly excited. Huai Geer immediately picked up Xingxing and tossed her in the air to express his joy.

Xingxing laughed with delight, both surprised and delighted!

She loved playing the high-toss game with her big brother!

“How did Xingxing get here?” Huai Geer held Xingxing with one hand and looked around, “Did Grandma come, or did Mother and the others come?”

Xingxing thought of Uncle Wei’s injury, her face fell, and she whispered, “Uncle Wei got hurt, and Grandma brought Xingxing to see the doctor.”

Huai Geer didn’t think much of it, “Oh,” he said, holding Xingxing and entering the shop.

Bai Geer put down his schoolbag and skillfully helped Yu Sanbao.

With Bai Geer’s assistance, Yu Sanbao instantly felt much less stressed.

As night fell, Yu Sanbao closed his small shop, locking the front door securely before heading to the backyard.

These past few days, he hadn't gone out to trade. Instead, he had set up a bed in the room that served as a warehouse, laying down some bedding to rest on.

Although there was a kitchen in the backyard, today Yu Sanbao waved his hand and took his four nephews and one niece to a small stall outside the alley, where each of them had a bowl of noodles.

Yu Sanbao favored his niece a bit more, so he sent the nephews back to study their books and took Xingxing to a pastry shop, buying her a bag of sweets.

Holding his niece in one arm and the sweets in the other, Yu Sanbao was walking back to the yard when he suddenly heard someone call his name:

    "Yu Sanbao!"

Instinctively, Yu Sanbao turned around and saw Qian Shi—Su Rouer's sister-in-law—running towards him, both surprised and delighted.

Qian Shi's face was full of joy, but Yu Sanbao frowned.
