Chapter 332: Throw All of Them Out!
by 小辫子Chapter 332: Throw All of Them Out!
Although Bai Rong was so unnerved by the killing intent that his scalp tingled, he could tell that Second Miss was considering retreat. Naturally, he had to step up—otherwise, if Second Miss decided to settle scores later, he wouldn't escape unscathed.
Bai Rong stepped forward and loudly introduced himself: "My lord is the Lin Yang Marquis. And who are you?"
As he spoke, his eyes continually assessed Huai Geer.
Bai Rong was very confident. Anyone serving in the military, no matter their rank, upon hearing that they were from the Lin Yang Marquis's estate, would have to show some respect and yield a bit.
However, Huai Geer did not flinch, not even lifting his eyes.
"The Lin Yang Marquis's estate, you say?" Huai Geer swept his gaze over the menacing guards who were armed and had surrounded the Liu family villa, sneering, "What a show of force!"
With a wave of his hand, the soldiers he had brought immediately positioned themselves like fierce beasts, standing in front of the Liu family and Yu family members, armed and facing off against the guards from the Lin Yang Marquis's estate.
Huai Geer had battled enemies on the front lines for four or five years; he had emerged from mountains of corpses and seas of blood. Even though Bai Rong came from a family of military officers, he still found it hard to endure the blatant malice and intent to kill.
Struggling to maintain his composure, a tremor in his voice was evident: "How dare you! ...If you offend the Lin Yang Marquis's estate, aren't you afraid that our Marquis and the Ministry of War will speak of this and have you punished?!"
Huai Geer let out a short, mocking laugh, as if he had heard a joke.
His eyes fell on the bow in Bai Huanqin's hand, and then he noticed the two arrows near the stone steps. After a moment's thought, he understood what had transpired.
Huai Geer narrowed his eyes slightly, his tone turning cold: "To dare draw a bow and shoot an arrow at such a close distance, is the intent to kill?"
Bai Huanqin's expression darkened: "Too bad I didn't manage to shoot that little wretch dead!"
Huai Geer's expression changed drastically.
She had used the arrow to target Xingxing?!
How dare she!
Huai Geer immediately recalled when he had met Shi Shidi earlier, seeing him holding a bow in his left hand, which had struck him as odd at the time. But now, he understood! The two arrows on the ground were probably shot by Shi Shidi to intercept the incoming arrows!
Huai Geer swiftly stepped forward and took the bow from Wei Shiyan's hand, then retrieved an arrow from Wei Shiyan's quiver.
Wei Shiyan did not stop him.
If Huai Geer hadn't returned just in time, Wei Shiyan would have shot an arrow at that person long ago!
Huai Geer turned and drew the bow, aiming the arrow straight at Bai Huanqin!
Bai Huanqin's pupils dilated, and she screamed!
"Ah!"
However, the arrow was not meant to kill her.
The whistling arrow shot past the ornament at her temple, its momentum carrying it into a tree behind her, taking the ornament with it—and a good deal of her hair—pinning it to the trunk!
Bai Huanqin's hair fell loose, and she looked utterly disheveled.
Half of her scalp felt as if it had been violently pulled, stinging with a fiery pain.
Bai Huanqin, like a madwoman, trembled as she touched her scalp: "How dare you—"
Huai Geer let out a cold laugh.
"If I dare or not, don't they already know?"
Huai Geer didn't pay her any mind and turned back around, immediately reining in his killing intent as if afraid of scaring Xingxing. "Xingxing, did they hurt you?"
Xingxing hurriedly shook her head. "No, no. Brother Yan saved me just now."
Huai Geer's eyes fell on the abrasion on Xingxing's face.
The wound had already scabbed over after two days of applying ointment. Huai Geer didn't think much of it.
Bai Huanqin was still shaking all over.
But her fear far outweighed her anger.
She was certain that the man just now truly intended to kill her!
Bai Rong's legs were trembling violently, but he forced himself to stand. "You… you dare to harm our young miss? Our Marquis will not let you off!"
Huai Geer cast them a cold, dismissive look.
He couldn't be bothered to argue with these people anymore.
"Next time you dare to cause trouble for my family, the arrows won't spare just a hairpin!"
Huai Geer then decisively gave orders to his soldiers. "Throw them all out! Throw them far!"
The soldiers responded with a deafening shout and swarmed up.
Bai Huanqin, horrified and furious, screamed, "What are you doing? How dare you!"
She screamed as two soldiers grabbed her arms and literally threw her out!
Bai Rong's scalp went numb, and he felt like he was about to explode. "Second Miss—"
But he didn't fare any better. Two soldiers grabbed him and threw him far and high!
Bai Rong let out a miserable scream as he landed on his butt in the most undignified way possible—his butt felt like it was about to split in two!
The remaining guards didn't escape either; the soldiers, with fierce grins, moved forward and subdued them all.
The soldiers, fierce as wolves and tigers, perfectly executed Huai Geer's orders—throwing everyone out!
Bai Huanqin felt utterly humiliated and on the verge of collapse. Though she had intended to rush back at Huai Geer for revenge, her emotions overwhelmed her. After taking a step, her vision blurred and she fainted.
Bai Rong, feeling greatly relieved, quickly ordered the servants to carry the unconscious Second Miss back, leaving in an undignified manner.
The old Taoist priest, seeing that the matter was resolved, prepared to take Wei Shiyan and depart.
Xingxing knew Wei Shiyan couldn't stay away from the mountain for too long, so she didn't try to stop him. However, when no one was looking, she quickly reached out and lightly touched Wei Shiyan's wrist under his sleeve, hoping the brief contact might help relieve some of his discomfort.
No one noticed Xingxing's small gesture, but Huai Geer, having been on many battlefields, was extremely sharp and saw it.
Huai Geer's eyes widened in surprise. A moment ago, he had wanted to say something to his junior brother, but now he was so anxious that he wished he could immediately send his junior brother back up the mountain!
Wei Shiyan looked at Huai Geer with a somewhat speechless expression.
The old Taoist priest said with a cheerful tone, "Huai Geer, after you've settled your family affairs, remember to come up the mountain for a visit."
Huai Geer readily agreed.
The Yujia family joyfully welcomed Huai Geer into the Liu family villa.
The soldiers Huai Geer brought along were properly arranged by Old Mao, who had someone prepare a banquet to entertain them at the villa.
After four or five years apart, the entire family had countless things they wanted to tell Huai Geer.
Earlier, with people from the Lin Yang Marquis's estate stirring up trouble, many things hadn't been said.
Inside the house, Huai Geer properly knelt and bowed to both Wei Pozi and Yu Laotou.
Wei Pozi was pleased but couldn't help letting out a sigh, "...You shouldn't have gone straight to the border to join the army without saying a word! Back then, your mother cried until she nearly went blind!"
