Once the dust settled, Lin Qing hummed a tune and entered the kitchen. After catching such a good show, her mood was quite pleasant.

The bathwater was ready when she finished cooking. Her stove had a built-in pot for heating water while she cooked. By dinner time, the hot water was nearly ready.

After eating, Lin Qing cleaned up the dishes right away, without even stepping outside. She just grabbed a basin of water and washed them inside.

After washing up, she quickly took a hot bath in the kitchen. She tends to feel cold, so she likes her water extra hot. After a quick kitchen cleanup, she headed out to do the laundry.

Lin Qing got a head start on her laundry while other families were just sitting down to dinner.

Lin Qing had timed it perfectly to miss the rush, making sure the faucet wouldn't be overused. By staggering her schedule, she made life easier.

Just as Lin Qing got to scrubbing the clothes, she heard arguing coming from the west wing.

"Dream on! Stay or leave, it's up to you, but I'm not returning the money," Mother Jiang would never give the money back.

"Ugh! I'm not eating this!" Su Shengnan flung the bowl containing two steamed buns to the ground and immediately ran out.

"Hmph, suit yourself. What a waste of good food." Mother Jiang picked up the buns from the ground, wiped off the dust, and took a bite, finishing them in a few mouthfuls.

"Good thing our bowls are wooden, or else..." Mother Jiang muttered as she ate.

Jiang Da Sao took the chance to add fuel to the fire, "Mother-in-law, don't you think this is a bit harsh?"

"What's harsh? I made dinner; she chose not to eat it. How's that my fault?" Mother Jiang rolled her eyes.

Lin Shu looked down, a flicker of darkness in her eyes. Su Shengnan was someone she had always tried to win over, but now, completely offended by Mother Jiang, all her previous efforts were wasted. She clenched her fists in frustration.
