Chapter 444: Another Coincidental Night! – Daily Melon Eating at the Sickly Aunt’s Compound
by 苓菱子Chapter 444 Another Coincidental Night! — The Sickly Young Aunt’s Daily Drama-Watching in the Courtyard
Father Lin and Mother Lin cautiously stepped out of the house, tiptoeing their way outside.
"..." Lin Qing and Cen Xi happened to witness the scene!
"Are we really not going?" Lin Qing still felt curious.
"Your parents are only going because they’ve never seen it before. We’ve already witnessed it—no need to join the excitement again!"
"Fine!" Lin Qing finally gave in reluctantly.
The two of them lingered by the windowsill. Lin Qing was too awake to sleep anyway, so she might as well stay there.
Cen Xi didn’t stop her and simply stayed with her.
Suddenly, they heard footsteps—neither too loud nor too soft. Father Lin and Mother Lin nearly jumped out of their skins, only to see that it was Mother Li!
Mother Lin patted her chest. "Whew—That scared me half to death!"
Mother Li was also startled by the two dark silhouettes ahead. Upon closer inspection, she recognized Father Lin and Mother Lin and whispered, "What are you two doing here?"
Father Lin and Mother Lin looked at each other before Mother Lin replied, "We were just heading to the toilet!"
"Heh, same here! I was just about to go too!"
"Are you really going?" Mother Lin leaned in and asked quietly.
"Mhm, mhm!" Mother Li vaguely felt something was off.
The Lin elders were acting strange!
Lin Qing, watching from behind the window, was getting antsy—but the moment she saw Mother Li, she immediately relaxed.
"Thank goodness, thank goodness!"
Cen Xi chuckled. "Even if someone else finds out, it’s not like we’re the ones doing anything. At most, Jin Jianhua’s dirty laundry will air."
It dawned on Lin Qing—oh right! Why was she worrying too much?
If others found out, the ones who’d be the talk of the town would be Jin Jianhua and Wang Qiaomei.
In the courtyard, Mother Lin had already pulled Mother Li aside and told her everything. Mother Li’s eyes went wide—was this for real?
Mother Lin nodded.
Mother Li immediately dashed back home and soon returned, dragging a half-dressed Old Man Li along.
The four elderly folks cautiously left the courtyard, bursting with curiosity. After scanning the darkness outside and confirming nothing unusual, they sneaked toward the toilet.
Soon, the four arrived at the same hiding spot where Cen Xi and Lin Qing had been the day before!
Their faces perked up eagerly!
The moment they got close, they heard voices—both male and female—and immediately clapped hands over their mouths in shock, afraid of making even the slightest sound.
Father Lin glanced at the exposed area behind them, then looked up at the sky. The moonlight was bright tonight—staying here would make them too easy to spot.
He gestured toward the women’s toilet, waved the others over, and they followed. Though puzzled, they complied.
Until they sneaked into the women's restroom, Mother Lin looked at Father Lin incredulously, "Are you really going into the women's restroom?"
"Let's go!" Father Lin mouthed wordlessly.
Old Man Li was the most shocked. He hesitated for a moment, but Mother Li decisively pulled him inside.
Mother Li actually thought Father Lin’s idea was good—the women’s restroom was indeed less likely to be noticed!
The four of them listened to the commotion next door and couldn’t help tutting. It was way too wild! Weren’t they afraid someone might come?
Honestly, they were somewhat impressed by these people. A restroom—such a smelly place—yet they were going at it so hard. Definitely not your average couple!
Well, ordinary people wouldn’t have men and women getting it on together like this.
All four were thoroughly scandalized. After Mother Lin’s brief explanation earlier, Mother Li and Old Man Li now knew who was inside.
Who would’ve thought the man making such suggestive noises inside was actually Wang Gousheng?
Grunts and moans rose and fell, occasionally punctuated by Jin Jianhua’s laughter.
The same thought occurred to all four of them—weren’t they disgusted by this?
Especially Father Lin and Old Man Li, two grown men. The idea of two men going at it right next door made them feel a bit uncomfortable.
Though slightly repulsed, their curiosity was at an all-time high.
After having heard enough, they tiptoed back, careful not to disturb the action next door.
Once back in the yard, they heaved a huge sigh of relief. Lin Qing, spotting them, perked up and slightly opened the window a bit, beckoning them over.
Father Lin and Mother Lin noticed first, also seeing Cen Xi propping the door open in coordination.
Father Lin and Mother Lin quickly led Mother Li and Old Man Li inside.
"Phew! That was something else!" Mother Li whispered excitedly.
Mother Lin nodded in agreement.
Lin Qing was just as excited.
Mother Li was momentarily surprised. "Xiao Lin, you knew about this too?"
Mother Lin quickly explained, "They were the ones who discovered it first. Otherwise, how would we have known?"
"What?" Mother Li and Old Man Li were stunned.
Lin Qing chimed in, "Last night, I got up to use the restroom and accidentally overheard it!"
"So that’s how it was!" Mother Li suddenly understood.
Thinking about it, with that kind of racket, anyone going to the restroom would’ve noticed, right?
In the next second, Mother Li instantly switched into official duty mode. "What do we do now? These people are fooling around so openly, and the noise is so loud. If others find out, our compound will be in an uproar again!"
Mother Lin could only pat her hand reassuringly—there was nothing she could do about it. "This isn’t something you can control. Let nature take its course! The boat will straighten itself when it reaches the bridge!"
Mother Li sighed. "Guess we’ll just have to leave it be."
Well, speak of the devil!
"AAAHHH!!!" Suddenly, a scream came from outside the yard, causing everyone's hearts to skip a beat.
This... left them completely speechless!
"Let's go check it out quickly!" Lin Qing urged.
Since they were already dressed, even if they delayed for a second or two, they were the first to rush out. Before long, the public toilet was surrounded by a crowd!
On the open ground near the toilet, someone was wailing—none other than Zhang Mengzi, the town drunk.
"Ghost... there's really a ghost in this toilet... Waaah..."
The crowd instantly buzzed with chatter.
"This toilet's haunted again?"
"Could there really be a ghost?"
Lin Qing and the others had figured it out, but they remained silent, saying nothing more.
It was shaping up to be another bizarre night!
"Zhang Mengzi, tell us, what did you hear this time?"
"Wuwu..." Zhang Mengzi, now mostly sobered up, couldn't stop crying. "Hiccup~~ I... I heard sounds like 'mmph~~ ahh~~ ooh~~' and they were really loud."
As soon as he finished speaking, the married folks, or those in the know, immediately understood and fell silent for a moment.
"Zhang Mengzi, do you really not know?"
"Wuwu... know what? I don't know anything!"
"HAHAHAHA!" The crowd burst into laughter. Oh my god! Zhang Mengzi is this old and still doesn't have a clue!
"What are you laughing at? I really saw a ghost! I even saw a few dark figures!"
Someone with sharp ears caught this and immediately asked, "How many? How many did you see?"
Zhang Mengzi scratched his head. "Three? Four? Can't remember, maybe three or four!" Definitely more than two, that's for sure.
The crowd: Ohhh!!!
Wait - more than two?
Everyone's minds went straight to the gutter...
