Chapter 107 Please Help Find Someone
by 范氏女子Chapter 107: Asking for Help to Find Someone
Seeing how rushed Fu Tinghua was, Su He couldn’t help but feel touched. Still, she explained, "I’m fine. I’m here with someone else."
"Who?"
"Someone I came across on the street—a pregnant woman. She was running a high fever and fainted, with no one accompanying her." Su He sighed.
"Okay, let’s go check on her together."
After saying this, Fu Tinghua took Su He to the door of the emergency room.
A nurse came out, and Fu Tinghua immediately approached her. "How is she?"
The nurse recognized Dr. Fu and lit up but answered obediently, "The pregnant woman had a fever, but she passed out mainly from exhaustion. Fortunately, she was brought in time. We’ve got her on oxygen now—otherwise, the baby might not have survived due to lack of oxygen."
That poor woman, collapsing all alone in some alley.
"Has she woken up?" Su He asked.
"She came to for a bit but dozed off again. Her body is just too exhausted."
After asking a few more questions, the nurse went back to work.
"She’ll be okay—don’t worry," Fu Tinghua reassured Su He.
Being a doctor, he knew better than anyone how crucial timing was. If not for Su He, the baby might not have survived.
"I’m fine. As long as she’s okay." Su He hesitated, wondering if she should wait for the woman to wake up.
Might as well go all the way. Since she wasn’t busy anyway, she might as well stay and ask about the situation later.
"Should we call the police? Let them notify her family?" Su He asked Fu Tinghua.
After a moment’s thought, Fu Tinghua replied, "Let’s hold off until she’s awake. She might contact her family herself then. She’s stable now—she’ll be alright."
After talking a bit more, Fu Tinghua was called away, leaving Su He and the two kids waiting outside.
Soon enough, the pregnant woman was transferred from the emergency room to a regular ward.
When she was transferred, she had woken up and was fully conscious.
"Miss, I heard you’re the one who got me here?" the pregnant woman asked.
"Yes. How are you feeling now? Any better?"
"Much better now. Thank you. Don’t worry about the bills—I’ll cover everything. Mind coming to my room with me?"
Su He then took the two kids and followed the woman to her ward.
Seeing that she had booked a private room, Su He figured the woman must be well-off.
After the doctors and nurses left, the pregnant woman smiled at Su He and asked, "What’s your name?"
"My name is Su He."
Only after the pregnant woman regained consciousness did Su He carefully examine her features.
She noticed that despite being pregnant, the woman had excellent skin and wore decent clothing, exuding an air of refinement in every gesture.
It was clear she came from a well-bred family and possessed a gentle and charming appearance.
However, due to her pregnancy and illness, her complexion was not good.
"My name is Wen Yuru. Thank you for bringing me to the hospital and saving my life—and my baby’s life."
As she spoke, she couldn’t help but touch her belly, but her expression was filled with profound loneliness.
"Saving a life is better than building a seven-story pagoda. I’m glad you’re safe. By the way, where are your family members? Should I contact them for you?" Su He asked.
A pregnant woman wandering around on her own was never safe, especially when she was ill.
But upon hearing Su He mention her family, Wen Yuru gave a somewhat bitter smile and said, "Forget it, I can handle it myself."
Looking at her, it was obvious she had some kind of conflict with her family.
Sigh, every family has its own troubles. Since Su He wasn’t close to Wen Yuru, she didn’t feel right asking too many questions.
So she said, "Alright, but this isn’t a good situation. You’re pregnant; you shouldn’t be without someone to take care of you."
Wen Yuru thought for a moment and then replied, "Miss Su, could you help me find someone?"
"Sure," Su He answered without hesitation.
After all, she had once been helpless and alone herself, so she especially understood Wen Yuru's current situation.
If she could help, she’d try her best to lend a hand.
"Please go to No. 21 Gongping Street and find Shi Jin from the Shi family. Tell him Wen Yuru needs to ask him for a favor," Wen Yuru said.
"Alright, I'll go now," Su He said, ready to leave with the two kids.
But Wen Yuru stopped her again.
"Su He, wait a moment."
Thinking it might be too forward to address Su He directly by name since they weren’t very familiar, Wen Yuru asked, "Is it alright if I call you that? 'Miss Su' sounds too formal."
Su He smiled at her. "Of course, just call me Su He."
"Okay, then you can call me Yu Ru from now on."
After saying this, Wen Yuru took out a fifty-yuan bill from her pocket and handed it to Su He.
"This is all I’ve got right now. I don’t know how much the medical expenses are, but I’ll pay you back double later. Thank you."
There was no way Su He could take the money. She wasn’t hurting for fifty yuan, while Wen Yuru clearly had bigger problems—pregnant, running away from home with barely fifty yuan to her name.
"You can pay me back when you have the money later. I’m in no hurry. I’ll go track him down for you now, so please wait patiently," Su He said before leaving the ward with the two kids.
As soon as she stepped out of the ward, she saw Fu Tinghua waiting outside the door.
"No work today?" Su He instinctively asked.
However, to Fu Tinghua's ears, Su He's question sounded like: "Do you really have nothing better to do?"
Of course he was busy, but he had no surgeries scheduled this morning, so he had some time to visit Su He.
Whenever he knew Su He was at the hospital, he couldn't help but come by to see if she needed any help.
"I just wanted to see if there was anything I could assist with," Fu Tinghua replied, lowering his head and giving a light cough.
Su He glanced at the ward, confirming the door was closed behind her, then took Fu Tinghua's hand and led him aside.
Fu Tinghua: "......"
Looking at his hand held by Su He, Fu Tinghua couldn't suppress the smile tugging at his lips, feeling secretly pleased inside.
Only after ensuring Wen Yuru couldn't overhear did Su He say to Fu Tinghua, "I suspect she's had some family trouble. Now she’s asked me to find a friend of hers to help her."
Fu Tinghua looked at Su He and the two very well-behaved kids behind her, asking with concern, "Where would you need to go to find her friend? Are you taking Zai Zai and Niu Niu with you?"
"Yeah, dropping them off at my parents' place would mean making another trip—too much trouble. I might as well bring them with me. Anyway, we'll just take a cab."
