Chapter 330 Does This Make Sense?

Su He had just arrived at the shop with Zai Zai and Niu Niu to mind the shop when Fu Guoqing also happened to show up with a delivery.

He came so early today? Su He couldn’t help wondering.

Not only did Fu Guoqing get out of the car, but Fu Dajun and Wu Yanhua also got out.

"Dad, Mom, why are you here?" Su He hurried over to greet them.

"Grandpa! Grandma!" Niu Niu, thrilled to see them, immediately ran over and clung to Wu Yanhua’s leg.

"Grandpa, Grandma, Uncle," Zai Zai also called out.

Niu Niu suddenly realized she had overlooked her uncle, Fu Guoqing, and hurriedly added, "Hello, Uncle."

Fu Guoqing chuckled at her forgetfulness and quickly responded to the kids, "Hey there, Zai Zai and Niu Niu."

"Hahaha, such good kids," Wu Yanhua said with a smile, patting Niu Niu’s head.

Fu Dajun, seeing that Su He and the others didn’t seem affected, felt some relief from the anxiety he had carried on the way here.

"Su He, did something happen at the hospital yesterday?" he cut straight to the point.

Su He hadn’t expected them to hear about it from so far away.

Originally, they had meant to keep it from the Fu family to avoid worrying them.

But now, it seemed they already knew everything.

"Mom, Dad, how did you find out about this?" Su He couldn’t help but ask curiously.

"So you *were* trying to hide it from us," Fu Dajun said, displeased.

Su He felt a little awkward and quickly replied, "No, we weren’t trying to hide it."

"Just tell me, was the village chief involved in this?" Fu Dajun sounded clearly furious.

"Yes, the patient was indeed sent to Ting Hua by the village chief, who wanted him to treat his eyes," Su He nodded in response.

"That village chief has no shame! How could he just casually refer someone like that? Is Ting Hua okay?" Fu Dajun asked, concerned about his son.

"Ting Hua is fine, but his colleague got dragged into it. The patient’s family stabbed him a dozen times," Su He sighed.

They were going to visit Chen Mo at the hospital, but since he was still out cold, it probably wasn’t possible.

They’d have to wait until he was a little better.

"O-over a dozen times?" Wu Yanhua covered her mouth in disbelief.

"Yes, it’s quite severe. The incident was really terrible." Otherwise, it wouldn’t have gotten the mayor involved yesterday.

"Good grief, that lunatic! If the hospital couldn’t treat him, what else could be done? Who’d be crazy enough to try to kill a doctor?"

    Wu Yanhua was furious.

This was someone who had originally wanted to kill her youngest son but, failing to find him, had taken it out on another doctor instead.

"Did that family come after you?" Su He suddenly asked.

Usually, in cases like this, the culprit's family would lie low and avoid being seen.

But the Fu family got wind of it so quickly, which could only mean one thing—the perpetrator's family went to beg the Fu family, hoping Fu Tinghua would issue a letter of pardon.

"Yes, not only did their family come, but even the Xinxu Township head showed up. Turns out, their eldest daughter married the mayor, and it was only because of the mayor’s influence that the village head put in a word to ask Tinghua for help," Fu Dajun said with a sigh.

When the village head heard that Fu Tinghua had almost got knifed, he was terrified.

The worst part was—he was the one who introduced them.

That very same day, he rushed over with Jin Ju’s family to explain things to the Fus.

He backpedaled hard, claiming he knew nothing—just that he was trying to help, never expecting the family would be so unhinged they'd try to kill him.

As for the mayor, though his tone was pleading, he was threatening between the lines: if this matter wasn’t handled properly, life in the village wouldn’t be easy for the Fus.

Would the Fu family be intimidated by them? Their son had nearly been killed! Raising Fu Tinghua hadn’t been easy—finally, he had made good, and now someone wanted to murder him over a doctor-patient conflict? Was that reasonable?

So the Fu family made it clear: there would be no reconciliation, and they wouldn’t interfere with Fu Tinghua’s decision.

Whatever Fu Tinghua chose to do, they would support him fully. There was no use coming to them.

The villagers, seeing the heated argument, initially had no idea what was going on.

But when they learned that someone had tried to kill Fu Tinghua just because he couldn’t treat them, they were horrified.

Seriously? If the doctor couldn’t help, you’d drag one down with you? How was that fair?

The whole village found it outrageous, so they piled on, regardless of the mayor’s status, and ran them out of town.

The Fu family, frantic with worry, immediately went to the city to find Fu Tinghua and Su He.

"By the way, where’s Tinghua? At home or somewhere else?" Fu Dajun asked.

"He went to help my parents move some things. Since they’ll be pitching in at the store often, we asked them to stay with us for a while," Su He replied.

"Oh, that’s good. Should we wait here for them or go home?" Fu Dajun was itching to see his boy.

The attacker had gone after Fu Tinghua yesterday—dead set on killing him. He was terrified the incident might've messed him up.

"I’m not sure, but Tinghua usually comes home for a nap. You could wait at the house."

After unloading the goods, they drove to the dormitory where Su He and Fu Tinghua lived.

Just as they arrived at the doorstep, Fu Tinghua rolled up in his car.

"Tinghua!" Wu Yanhua called out excitedly.

Fu Tinghua parked and quickly got out.

"Mom, Dad, Brother, what're you doing here?" he asked, surprised.

"Don't give me that! You suffered at work and didn’t even tell your family," Wu Yanhua said, choking up.

Seeing her like this, Fu Tinghua was flustered.

"Mom, nobody wronged me," he sighed.

"Don't give me that! How could you not be? This is on us..."
