Chapter 217: Her Hands Are Soft and Squishy, So Nice to Touch
by 范氏女子Chapter 217 Her Hand Was Soft and Pillowy—So Pleasant to Hold
At noon, Su He was running the store by herself when a large group of young nurses suddenly poured in.
They entered the shop while sneaking glances at Su He from time to time, making it hard for her to ignore.
It was probably because the head nurse who had shopped here yesterday had gone back and gossiped. No matter the era, hospitals were always breeding grounds for gossip.
Su He ignored them, pretending not to see their eager gazes as she focused on ringing up items.
She assumed these nurses were just curious about her appearance and had come to see what she looked like—not likely to buy anything.
But Su He was wrong. Not only did they buy things, they bought quite a lot.
The store, which had been quiet, suddenly became bustling again with their arrival.
They mostly bought similar items, likely picking up everyday essentials.
Soon, a line formed at the checkout counter, and Su He helped them one by one.
When she got to the third nurse, the bright-eyed nurse couldn’t hold back her curiosity and blurted out, "Excuse me, are you the Deputy Director’s wife?"
Seeing the genuine admiration and curiosity in her eyes—with no ill intent—Su He smiled and nodded openly. "Yes, I am."
The other nurses nearby immediately erupted in whispers.
"Wow, you’re so beautiful!" the nurse in front of her exclaimed earnestly.
"Thank you," Su He replied with a smile.
The rest of the nurses gradually stepped forward to check out. Every time Su He smiled at them, they reacted with starstruck delight, leaving her a little baffled.
What she didn’t know was that Fu Tinghua was practically worshipped at the hospital by then.
Especially after yesterday’s critical patient—someone other hospitals had given up on—was miraculously saved by Dr. Fu’s skilled hands, snatching them from the jaws of death.
Before, the most talked-about topic at the hospital was how handsome Dr. Fu was. Everyone knew he was skilled, but his true skill hadn’t hit home—until now.
Even some senior doctors who had been jealous of Fu Tinghua’s rapid promotion couldn’t help but tip their hats to him.
So why were the nurses so excited to see Su He?
It was like stanning an idol but rarely getting to see them in person.
Then suddenly, you get to meet their spouse up close—it feels like you’ve gotten one step closer to the idol.
These nurses were at the bottom of the hospital hierarchy, usually just stuck with grunt work, so they rarely had a chance to interact with Fu Tinghua.
In the past, they might have tried to "accidentally" bump into him at the hospital cafeteria, but even then, they only dared to watch from afar.
But now, since Dr. Fu’s wife cooked for him, he barely showed up at the cafeteria anymore.
And being dazzled by Su He’s beauty only made them even more excited.
Once they were out of earshot, one of them couldn’t help but say, "The Deputy Director’s wife is so pretty!"
"Of course! Who started those nasty rumors anyway?"
"Haters, obviously."
"And she's really nice too. When I handed her the money earlier, I accidentally touched her fingers. Her hands were so soft and smooth—they felt amazing to touch."
"Good thing you're not a man, or she could report you for harassment."
"I heard the Deputy Director is coming to the shop after work this afternoon to help his wife."
"No way! Someone of his position would actually come here to help?"
"What's so strange about that?"
"He just doesn't seem like the kind of person the Deputy Director would be."
"He adores his wife. Ever since she’s been around, he goes straight home after work."
The group chatted and laughed as they walked toward the staff dormitory.
Most of the nurses admired Fu Tinghua, but someone like him was out of their league, so they had no romantic interest toward him.
However, not everyone in the hospital felt the same way.
After learning about Fu Tinghua’s dramatic surgery yesterday, Qin Meixuan became even more infatuated with him.
This man was simply too captivating, and now Qin Meixuan couldn’t see herself with anyone else.
When she returned home at noon, her father, Dean Qin, had also come home.
Having stayed overnight at the hospital to keep watch over the patient, Dean Qin had only now managed to come home.
"Dad," Qin Meixuan greeted him enthusiastically.
"What’s wrong? Did you cause trouble again?" Dean Qin smiled at his beloved daughter.
His daughter was outstanding in every way—except for the fact that, at her age, she still wasn’t married, which was a constant worry for him.
"Dad, who was the person Dr. Fu saved last night?" Qin Meixuan asked.
At his daughter’s question, Dean Qin’s smile disappeared.
"Don’t ask about things you shouldn’t."
Seeing her father’s reaction, Qin Meixuan let out a frustrated huff.
Not wanting to upset her, Dean Qin explained, "I don’t know who that person is either. I didn’t dare ask, and there was no chance to."
The mayor and his team had only come once during the emergency, and afterward, soldiers were stationed to guard the patient. With their stern and intimidating presence, Dean Qin didn’t dare ask questions.
"Dad, Dr. Fu was truly incredible this time. I heard all about it from the people who were in the operating room," Qin Meixuan smiled proudly, as if Fu Tinghua were someone close to her.
Dean Qin watched his daughter’s smitten expression and couldn’t help but say, "You're not exactly young anymore. Among the men I’ve introduced you to, was there anyone you were interested in?"
"Not interested. They were all second-rate at best. Dad, can you stop meddling in my love life?" Qin Meixuan replied impatiently.
"How are they second-rate? Their family backgrounds and professions are all comparable to ours—some are even better." Dean Qin frowned. His daughter’s standards were too high.
"No matter how good they are, can they compare to Dr. Fu?" The words burst out before Qin Meixuan could stop herself.
Hearing this, Dean Qin’s face finally turned completely stern.
"Dr. Fu? Dr. Fu is already married with children, so you'd better get over him!"
"So what? What if they get divorced in the future?" Qin Meixuan couldn't help retorting.
"Divorced? And what if they never divorce? Will you wait your whole life?" Dean Qin was nearly exasperated by his daughter.
She had always been proud and stubborn as a mule since childhood. Back when he suggested introducing her to Fu Tinghua, she had turned her nose up at the idea.
But after graduating and seeing him at the hospital, she fell head over heels for Fu Tinghua at first sight.
By then, however, Fu Tinghua had already tied the knot.
If only it had been a year earlier, his daughter could've stood a chance.
Thinking of this, Dean Qin couldn't help but feel regret.
Dr. Fu was such a catch—how wonderful it would be if he could have been his son-in-law.
