Chapter 338: I Don’t Want to Be an Auntie, I’m Still Young
by 范氏女子Chapter 338: I’m Not an Auntie—I’m Still Young!
Su He had just eaten dinner with the kids and was on her way to the shop when suddenly, a car pulled up right in front of her gate, just as she was leaving.
Curious who it was, Su He saw Fu Tinghua stepping out of the car.
Right behind him came Qi Yunyang, Xia Chengan, and Xia Miao.
"Dr. Fu," Su He hurried over to greet him, leading her two children forward.
Hearing how Su He addressed Fu Tinghua, Xia Chengan couldn’t help laughing.
Everyone else on the scene gave him puzzled looks, like, "What’s so funny?"
After laughing for a while and realizing no one joined in, Xia Chengan finally stopped. He then asked Su He, "Sis, is this how you and Ting Hua roll? Addressing each other by your professional titles?"
Su He: "......"
"I got used to calling him that before," Su He replied a little awkwardly.
Fu Tinghua, however, gave Xia Chengan an icy glare before calling his name with clear warning.
"Xia Chengan, got too much free time?"
Seeing Fu Tinghua’s expression, Xia Chengan quickly backtracked. "No, no, my bad, seriously."
Fu Tinghua wasn’t someone to provoke—he nursed grudges like a pro.
If he had it out for you now, he’d find a way to retaliate sooner or later.
"Second Brother, no offense, but sometimes you really should learn to control your mouth," Xia Miao threw in sarcastically.
Finally, someone could put her second brother in his place.
At home, he was a total little tyrant.
Despite being the youngest in the family, her brother never cut her any slack.
More often than not, it was either Xia Miao making Xia Chengan lose it or Xia Chengan infuriating Xia Miao.
The two were at each other’s throats, neither willing to back down.
"And this is...?" Su He turned to Xia Miao, who stood nearby with a sweet appearance and the graceful air of a rich girl.
Before this, she had always heard from her brothers that Fu Tinghua’s wife was some fat, ugly, tacky woman—someone who had only married him through scheming.
But now, seeing Su He in person, Xia Miao realized she’d been deceived by her brother all along.
She had even entertained the thought of landing the hot Fu Tinghua for herself if he ever got divorced.
But after meeting Su He, Xia Miao knew she shouldn’t have trusted a word from Xia Chengan, that liar.
Fu Tinghua’s wife was just as refined as the young ladies of aristocratic families.
On the contrary, she was not only drop-dead gorgeous but also carried herself with the noble, cold elegance of a blooming plum blossom—out of their league.
How is this the daughter of an ordinary teacher? She looks like she has the grace of someone from a wealthy family!
"Hello, I... I'm Xia Chengan's younger sister, my name is Xia Miao. Nice to meet you," Xia Miao introduced herself confidently.
After seeing Su He in person, she couldn’t believe the rumors about Su He’s appearance anymore. She only felt she had fallen for Xia Chengan’s trick and mentally cursed him a hundred times.
"Hello, Miss Xia. My name is Su He. It's lovely to meet you," Su He replied just as warmly.
Seeing how Su He was so at ease, Xia Miao became even more convinced that Xia Chengan had deceived her.
"Daddy," Niu Niu, unaware of the situation, called out softly to Fu Tinghua, trying to get his attention.
"Hmm? Have you eaten yet?" Fu Tinghua stepped forward and picked up his daughter.
Xia Miao had been entirely focused on Su He earlier, but now she noticed the two children and squealed in excitement.
"Ahhhh! Are these Fu’s two kids?" Xia Miao rushed forward eagerly, wanting to pick up Zai Zai, who was still standing on the ground.
Zai Zai, seeing this weird lady, quickly hid behind Su He.
Xia Miao was a little embarrassed and knelt down to coax him, "Hello there, I’m like your daddy’s little sister. Can I give you a hug?"
Zai Zai looked at Xia Miao suspiciously and said firmly, "My daddy only has one older sister, no younger sister."
That got everyone laughing.
Xia Miao, however, blushed at his remark and quickly corrected herself, "Your daddy is good friends with my brother. My brother’s younger sister is your daddy’s younger sister, so I’m your daddy’s younger sister, which means I’m your..."
She stumbled over her own words and ended up confusing even herself about what Zai Zai should call her.
So, she gave a pleading look to Xia Chengan and asked, "Second Brother, what should they call me?"
Whenever she needed Xia Chengan’s help, Xia Miao would play nice and act helpless.
Otherwise, she’d argue with him nonstop.
"What else? Just call you 'Auntie,'" Xia Chengan shot back.
"I don’t want to be called 'Auntie'! I’m still young!" Xia Miao protested.
Her words once again amused everyone present.
Su He, witnessing Xia Chengan and Xia Miao bickering for the first time, couldn’t stop laughing either.
"Daddy, why’s this lady so strange?" Even Niu Niu couldn’t resist asking.
"HAHAHAHAHA... Xia Miao... even... even the kids... even the kids find you annoying... HAHAHA..." Xia Chengan was laughing so hard he could barely breathe as he mocked her.
Xia Miao was fuming, giving Xia Chengan a death glare. But he was too busy laughing to notice.
Even if he had seen it, he wouldn’t have cared anyway.
Seeing Xia Miao’s flushed face, Qi Yunyang jumped in, "Alright, let’s hurry up. Tinghua’s probably starving."
"Yeah, it’s getting late. Let’s head to the restaurant first," Fu Tinghua said helplessly.
These two siblings brought laughter wherever they went.
"Oh? We already ate," Su He replied awkwardly.
She had just finished eating, and so had the two kids.
Normally, she wouldn’t wait for Fu Tinghua to eat—she'd eat as soon as food was ready.
First, because Fu Tinghua’s work hours were irregular now, and no one knew if he’d have to work overtime.
Second, because she still had to go to the shop to relieve her father, Su Shiming, so he wouldn't go hungry.
“No worries, you can have some dessert. The main thing is we get to chat together. Come along, sis?” Qi Yunyang smiled and invited Su He again.
With him saying that, Su He naturally didn’t want to kill the vibe.
Besides, she and Fu Tinghua’s friends had never really had a proper meal together before.
They'd visited them in their village before, but after returning to the city, they hadn’t seen each other again.
“Alright, then I’ll ask Mom to watch Zai Zai and Niu Niu.” Su He looked up at Fu Tinghua and asked.
Before Fu Tinghua could respond, Xia Chengan quickly interjected, “Aw, come on, let’s all go together! The kids can have some cake or something. Come on, let's go.”
