Chapter 404: This Woman Will Disrupt All His Life Trajectories
by 范氏女子Chapter 404 This Woman Would Turn His Whole Life Upside Down
"It's fine, not exactly an argument. I just told him not to assign me every kind of patient from now on. There are too many patients booked under my name, and many of their conditions can’t wait. I don’t want to waste time. But—" Fu Tinghua paused here.
"But what?"
"Nothing. I just get the feeling Mrs. Gu is targeting me. I hope her visit doesn’t cause trouble." Fu Tinghua said with a frown.
He had a premonition—this woman would disrupt the entire course of his life.
This was a feeling he’d had since their first meeting.
As absurd as it sounded, he couldn’t shake the feeling, which was why he felt so resistant toward her.
Honestly, Fu Tinghua felt incredibly happy now—with his wife and children by his side, a cozy family life. His parents were healthy, and the whole family was doing better thanks to Su He’s influence.
He wasn’t a greedy man. All he wanted was to focus on his career while spending his life with the one he loved.
But this woman—Fu Tinghua had a feeling she was the wild card.
"I still think you’re acting a bit strange," Su He muttered as Fu Tinghua took her home.
He didn’t know how to explain it to her because even he found himself odd.
When they got home, the two kids were still awake.
However, they had closed the shop a bit early today—just after eight. Zai Zai and Niu Niu had just finished bathing.
"Mommy!" Niu Niu lit up the moment she saw Su He.
Recently, Mommy had been crazy busy—it took three "so’s" to describe just how busy she was.
Lately, they mostly stayed at home with their grandma, Wen Qing, because Su He was too swamped at the shop to look after them.
Moreover, Su Shiming had started teaching the two children how to read. He believed his grandson’s learning ability was even more astonishing than his father’s—a near-photographic memory, picking things up after one go.
This discovery had Su Shiming over the moon.
Now, as soon as he got home, he would pull Zai Zai aside to study.
As for Niu Niu—well, she couldn’t hold a candle to her brother, but her intelligence was right on track for her age.
"Where’s your brother?" Su He instinctively asked as her daughter bounced around.
"Brother’s already in bed resting, Mommy. He’s so tired," Niu Niu whispered to Su He.
"Tired?" Su He was puzzled.
Niu Niu nodded emphatically. "Yeah! What Grandpa teaches us is really hard, but Brother remembers everything. I can’t remember anything. So he must be wiped out—his brain’s working overtime. But not me, I forget things after just a little while."
In Niu Niu’s mind, since it took her so long to memorize what Grandpa taught, but her brother could remember everything, he must have put in a lot of effort to do so.
It never crossed her mind that maybe—just maybe—Zai Zai was just a little sharper than her?
Su He gave her daughter a sympathetic look, already dreading how hard school would be for her in the future.
She sighed. They were born from the same womb on the same day—how could their intelligence levels be so different?
Her father, Su Shiming, had already told her—Zai Zai had a photographic memory, with a learning ability that put even his father to shame. He was the sharpest student Su Shiming had ever seen in his life.
So he decided to pass on all his lifelong knowledge to his grandson in the future.
Upon hearing this, Su He felt a bit resigned. She initially wanted to tell her father that the child was still young and that they should ask if he even wanted to learn so much at such an early age.
But seeing that no one in the family objected, Su He had no choice but to drop the matter.
Fine. Her 21st-century educational philosophy didn’t seem to apply well in this era.
So she would just observe slowly and see how Zai Zai handled it.
If he could adapt and didn’t grow tired of this constant studying, then so be it.
But if he started to develop an aversion to studying, she could always put a stop to it.
However, how should she explain to her daughter that her brother actually didn’t find remembering what their grandfather taught him difficult at all?
"Niu Niu, do you think Grandma’s embroidery is easy to do?" Su He crouched down to look her daughter in the eye and asked.
Niu Niu blinked, hesitated for a moment, then shook her head and said, "I don’t know. I definitely can’t do it as well as Grandma."
Nowadays, whenever Wen Qing had free time, she would embroider at home, and Niu Niu would often sit beside her, even learning a little bit.
Hearing her answer, Su He rephrased her question.
"Alright, then do you think embroidery is easy for your brother?"
Niu Niu immediately shook her head and told her, "I asked Brother to play embroidery with me, but he said he couldn’t learn it. So for him, embroidery must be really hard."
Su He nodded, pleased, and continued, "Exactly. So for your brother, reading and writing are just like embroidery is for you—it comes easily. You don’t need to worry so much about him, okay?"
Ah, this sweet daughter of hers—how could she be so adorable?
Thinking this, Su He couldn’t resist doting on Niu Niu’s cheeks again.
Watching her playfully fuss over their daughter, Fu Tinghua couldn’t help but chuckle and shake his head before heading upstairs to grab his clothes for a bath.
Niu Niu nodded, not quite understanding, then said, "Mom, studying is so hard. Wan Er said so too."
"Then is Wan Er better than most people at things like planting vegetables, tending the fire, and cleaning?" Su He asked.
But as soon as the words left her mouth, Su He regretted it.
The main reason Chen Waner excelled at these tasks was simply because practice made perfect.
Being too skilled at household chores at such a young age wasn’t necessarily a good thing.
But since she had already brought it up, Su He had no choice but to continue.
"Yeah, Wan Er is amazing. Brother and I can’t do a lot of things, so Wan Er always shows us how," Niu Niu agreed with a nod.
"Mhm, it’s because Wan Er has a patient nature, so she learns things quickly and is very handy. That’s what she’s skilled at."
As Su He spoke, she glanced at Chen Waner, who was sitting nearby listening to their conversation. Sure enough, after hearing these words, her eyes lit up.
"So you see, everyone is good at different things, okay? Even if your brother learns faster than you, don’t let it get you down. You and your brother are good at different things." Su He gently explained to Niu Niu.
Niu Niu’s eyes shone as she looked at Su He and asked, "Mom, so even if I’m not good at studying in the future, you’ll still love me, right?"
Su He: "..."
How should she answer that? Instantly, Su He felt like she had shot herself in the foot.
This Niu Niu—she was too good at reading between the lines.
How was this not being smart? This was too smart, she thought. This little rascal.
