Chapter 339: The Bad Auntie Who Kidnaps Children

Fu Tinghua watched the scene with a smile and nodded at Su He.
"Alright, then I'll ask Fourth Sister to go to the shop and relieve my dad so he can come home for dinner," Su He said to Fu Tinghua.
"Yeah, and bring the car keys while you're at it. I'll drive later—their car can't fit everyone," Fu Tinghua replied with a grin.
"Sure."
After answering, Su He turned to the others present. "Would you like to come in and sit for a bit?"
"No need, we’ll drop by another time," Qi Yunyang declined politely with a smile.
Su He didn’t dawdle and went straight inside.
Xia Miao observed the exchange with fascination, secretly amazed at how gentle Fu Tinghua could be with a woman.
After all, thanks to her status as Xia Chengan’s sister, Fu Tinghua treated her way nicer than he did other women—at the very least, he had never snubbed her.
But Xia Miao knew Fu Tinghua only saw her as a little sister.
Though she often teased about poaching him—claiming she’d find someone as handsome as him in the future—she was just kidding around.
She was well aware Fu Tinghua had no romantic interest in her. She only had eyes for his face.
Yet seeing the tenderness in Fu Tinghua’s eyes when he looked at Su He, as if she were the only person in his world since her arrival, left Xia Miao floored.
So this is love? No matter if it was Liu Tinghua, Wang Tinghua, or Fu Tinghua—when love hits, even they had to bow their heads?
"What are you staring at? Jealous?" Xia Chengan came over to his sister, teasing.
Xia Miao scowled at the sight of him. "Stay away from me."
"Oho, and here I was, the one who brought you out today. Some thanks I get," Xia Chengan smirked, not giving an inch.
As the two seemed about to start bickering again, Qi Yunyang quickly intervened. "Alright, you two young masters and misses, quit it. If you scare Su He, Dr. Fu will have our heads."
Xia Miao fell silent at his words.
Xia Chengan, too, scratched his nose awkwardly and stopped bickering with his sister.
The group hung around by the gate of Fu Tinghua’s house, waiting for Su He. Spotting Zai Zai’s adorable little face, Xia Miao had to pinch his cheeks and crouched down to play with him.
"Hey, kiddo, what’s your name? Can you call me 'sister'?" she asked sweetly.
"Aren’t you my dad’s sister?" Zai Zai blinked at her in confusion.
"I am, but didn’t you just say I wasn’t?" Xia Miao fluttered her big, innocent eyes.
"Then are you my dad’s friend’s sister?" the child pressed.
"Yes."
"Then I can’t call you 'sister'—that’d mess up the family hierarchy, Auntie."
Zai Zai’s stone-faced expression as he delivered this perfectly logical reasoning had the adults in stitches.
"HAHAHA—Fu Tinghua, your son takes after you! Quick as a whip!" Xia Chengan, who had only just stopped stirring up trouble, cracked up again.
"Yes, Dr. Fu, your son's intelligence is definitely inherited from you." Even Qi Yunyang couldn't resist teasing Fu Tinghua.
Little did they expect, Fu Tinghua's next words brought their laughter to an abrupt halt.
"My son is indeed quite smart. What? Envious? Why don’t you two have one?"
His provocative tone, paired with that smug, half-smiling expression, really made Qi Yunyang and Xia Chengan want to hit him.
Neither of them even had girlfriends—where would they get a son from?
"Hahahaha..." Seeing Xia Chengan speechless, Xia Miao was delighted.
Niu Niu clung tightly to Fu Tinghua's neck, finding these odd uncles and this weird aunt increasingly odd.
Seeing that Zai Zai wasn’t easily fooled, Xia Miao walked up to Fu Tinghua and stretched her hands toward Niu Niu, asking, "Such an adorable little girl, can I hold her, big sis?"
She still refused to accept being called an aunt.
Xia Miao was still in college, about to graduate—she didn’t want to be called an aunt so soon.
"Auntie, hug." Niu Niu was very well-behaved, even leaning toward Xia Miao to be held.
Girls and boys see things differently.
At that moment, Xia Miao was wearing a beautiful pink princess dress, topped with a cute hat.
Even though Niu Niu wasn’t familiar with her yet, she was still curious about this beautifully dressed aunt.
"Wow! She let me hold her! So cuddly and cute!" Xia Miao finally got to hold Fu Tinghua’s child and was overjoyed, squeezing Niu Niu excitedly.
Niu Niu gripped Xia Miao’s sleeve tightly, afraid she’d drop her in her excitement.
Just then, Su He came out.
"Alright, let’s go," Su He said to the group.
"Mm." Fu Tinghua stepped forward to take the keys and then waved the others into the car.
"Can... can I hold you while we ride?" Xia Miao asked Niu Niu cautiously.
She liked this little girl so much—so sweet, well-behaved, and adorable. If all kids were this cute, she wouldn’t mind having a whole bunch.
Little did Xia Miao know, this dangerous thought of hers would come crashing down later after giving birth to her first mischievous daughter.
She couldn’t understand why her own daughter was so different from Fu Tinghua’s—bouncing off the walls like a monkey.
After hearing Xia Miao’s question, Niu Niu glanced at her mother, Su He.
Su He gave Niu Niu an encouraging look and said, "Do you want to? If you want to, go ahead. If not, you can say no. We’re going to eat somewhere with Auntie and the others, and you’ll see us again soon."
Hearing Su He’s words and knowing she’d see her family soon, Niu Niu nodded at Xia Miao.
This aunt was so eager—she couldn’t say no.
Poor Niu Niu, at such a young age, was already learning social niceties.
"Aww, you’re just too cute! What’s your name?" Xia Miao pecked Niu Niu’s cheek and asked again.
Niu Niu wiped her face with her hand, unable to bear the slobber on her face, before answering, "My name is Niu Niu."
"Niu Niu? What a cute name!"
Su He, who had been listening nearby, silently thought: "..."
Xia Miao was being a bit too exaggerated; she was way too biased toward Niu Niu.
The nickname "Niu Niu" had been casually chosen by Su He back then, totally on a whim.
After all, many children were given that same nickname.
"Xia Miao, are you coming or not?" Xia Chengan couldn't take it anymore—they were dragging their feet, and both cars were waiting for them to get in.
"Coming, coming!" Xia Miao replied, then turned to Niu Niu in her arms and asked, "Niu Niu, wanna ride in that car with Auntie? It'll only take about ten minutes, and then you'll see Mommy and Daddy again—in no time!"
Unbeknownst to Xia Miao, her words right now sounded exactly like those of a child-snatching creep.
