Chapter 172 His Thoughtfulness
by 范氏女子Chapter 172: His Considerate Side
The next day, Fu Tinghua woke up first.
The first thing he saw was the face he adored so much.
Su He’s eyelashes were long, and as she slept, they twitched occasionally.
Fu Tinghua carefully reached out and ran his fingers through her hair.
Still not satisfied, he leaned down and kissed her forehead.
But then, Su He seemed to sense something—her eyes fluttered slightly, as if about to wake up.
Seeing this, Fu Tinghua immediately froze in place.
Last night—he had acted like a beast again.
He hoped she wouldn’t be angry when she woke up.
Fu Tinghua sighed helplessly. Ever since falling for Su He, he couldn’t control himself.
Although they had stayed up very late the night before, Fu Tinghua still woke up energized.
When he went downstairs, Fu Yanju had already prepared breakfast.
She was worried that her brother would go out to buy food again—takeout was so pricey.
"Good morning, sis," he said brightly.
How to put it? Like a wolf who’d gotten his fill after starving for too long.
"Mm, where’s Su He?" Fu Yanju asked instinctively.
"She’s still resting. It’s fine, let her sleep a bit longer. You and I can head to the hospital first," Fu Tinghua replied before going to wash up.
When Su He woke up, her body ached everywhere.
Fu Tinghua, that animal!
Did he always have to go so hard?
Though honestly, it wasn’t entirely Dr. Fu’s fault. Su He’s skin was just too delicate.
The original host of this body had been pampered by her parents, making her skin fair and tender.
Fu Tinghua hadn’t even used much force, yet Su He’s skin—especially around her thighs—was already marked up with bruises.
When getting dressed, Fu Tinghua accidentally noticed them and even put ointment on the bruises.
Still, this time was a bit easier than the first time. At least her legs weren’t shaky when she stood up—that would’ve been way too humiliating.
She went to check on Zai Zai and Niu Niu’s room and found both kids were up already.
As she went downstairs to wash her face, she saw breakfast set out.
It was already around nine o’clock—Fu Tinghua and Fu Yanju were probably already at the hospital.
Out in the yard, she saw the three kids playing.
At this moment, Chen Waner was pulling weeds in the yard with Zai Zai and Niu Niu.
"Wan Er, Zai Zai, Niu Niu, what are you doing?" Su He walked over and asked curiously.
"Mom said she wants to plant some vegetables in the yard, so I'm helping her pull weeds," Chen Waner answered obediently.
"Such a responsible kid," Su He couldn't help but say.
The Chens don’t know how good they've got it.
"Mommy, mommy, Niu Niu helped too!" Niu Niu jumped in.
"Yes, Niu Niu and Zai Zai are just as good as your sister. You're both helping out like big kids now," Su He said with a smile.
"You kids, if you get tired, go back inside, okay? No need to push yourselves. I’ll go in first to have some breakfast."
"Okay~" the three kids replied obediently.
Such easy kids. Logically, Zai Zai and Niu Niu should be at that terrible-two/threenager stage, but they’d never been any trouble to Su He.
After finishing up, Su He decided to bring the durians to Wen Yuru and Shi Jin.
The main thing was, she didn’t know where Wen Yuru lived, so she could only take them to Shi Jin first.
Looking at the small car parked in the yard, Su He felt bummed.
Ah, gotta get that driver’s license first.
Wait, was she forgetting something?
Oh right, the workers were coming today to renovate the shop.
"Wan Er, keep an eye on your brother and sister, okay? Don’t run around. Auntie's gotta go open up the shop for someone."
Su He said, about to go inside to get the shop keys.
"Auntie, Uncle already went to open it for them," Chen Waner spoke up.
"Wait, really? How do you know?" Su He was a bit anxious, so her tone came out sharper than she meant.
Chen Waner felt guilty. Her uncle had told her when he left to let Su He know when she woke up, but she’d forgotten.
"Uncle told me to tell you when you woke up, but I—I forgot," Chen Waner hung her head.
She'd promised not to let Auntie dislike her.
Hearing this, Su He let out a relieved sigh.
At least Fu Tinghua wasn't completely useless—he had her back.
Seeing how upset Wan Er looked, Su He quickly comforted her, "Wan Er, I'm not mad at you.
I was stressed about the shop, so I sounded snippy, but that wasn't about you.
Don't take it to heart, okay?
And in the future, you shouldn’t always get so hung up on what others think, understand?
You are your number one priority."
Chen Waner was a little confused by what Su He had said, but her aunt assured her she wasn’t mad at her.
“I know, Auntie,” Chen Waner perked up again.
“Mm, you did well. Since there’s no rush, I’ll take you all to the shop to have a look.”
After getting ready, Su He took the three kids to the shop at a leisurely pace.
As soon as they reached the door, they heard the racket of construction inside.
Yu Xu glanced over and saw Su He and the three children standing at the entrance.
“Miss Su! You made it!” Yu Xu stepped out immediately with a smile.
“Yes. Today, it was my husband who brought the keys, right?” Su He asked.
“Oh, yes,” Yu Xu answered honestly.
Honestly, when they first saw Miss Su’s husband approaching them, they assumed he was lost.
After all, in their entire lives, they’d never seen a guy that good-looking.
Seeing how thoughtful Dr. Fu had been, Su He—who had been steaming mad at him—felt most of her anger melt away instantly.
“I brought you some steamed buns and water. Have you and Yu Xi had breakfast yet? This job’s tough—have something if you’re hungry.”
After saying this, Su He handed them the bag of food.
“This is... really too much,” Yu Xu said, his voice shaky.
Ever since his accident, relatives and friends had steered clear of him and his son, afraid they might come begging for food.
Who’d have guessed Miss Su would bring them something to eat so early in the morning?
“It’s nothing, just a little pick-me-up. We made too much at home,” Su He said with a smile.
“Thank you... thank you, Miss Su.” Yu Xu’s hands trembled as he accepted the food from her.
Su He didn’t quite get why he was so emotional. After asking a few questions and confirming everything was fine, she left with the children.
Even if the renovation materials were all-natural and eco-friendly, she was still worried the kids might be exposed to formaldehyde.
So for the first two months of the renovation, Su He wasn’t about to bring the kids to the shop.
