Chapter 385: Annoying Brother, Always Teasing Me
by 范氏女子Chapter 385: Big Brother is So Annoying, Always Teasing Me
"Then what? What exactly is his problem?" Wu Yanhong asked Su He.
"I don’t know, Mom. How would we know about other people’s business?" Su He sighed.
This Liu Yi had delicate and fair-skinned features, and he looked almost delicate.
His looks were different from Fu Tinghua’s. Though Fu Tinghua was also exceptionally handsome with sharp, handsome features, his jawline was strong and masculine—anyone could tell at a glance he was a man, and an extremely good-looking one at that.
But Liu Yi? He had the delicate looks of a pretty boy, only about five-foot-seven.
If he grew his hair long, honestly, people might mistake him for a girl.
Su He had only met Liu Yi twice since coming to the village, but she remembered him clearly.
After all, who doesn’t like a pretty face?
"Mom, Liu Yi and I just don’t click. Stop trying to pair me with him," Fu Yanju said firmly, once again rejecting her mother’s matchmaking efforts.
"You—ugh! Fine, I’m done meddling in your love life. If you want this one, then go ahead. Just don’t regret it later." Wu Yanhong finished speaking, turned around, and walked out of the room.
Fu Yanju watched her retreating figure, tears pricked her eyes.
Once again, she’d let her mother down.
Seeing her like this, Su He immediately stepped forward to comfort her. "Sis, it’s normal for the family to be concerned about Yu Xu’s leg. Don’t worry. Once they meet him, they’ll understand."
Though Yu Xu had a problem with his leg, his appearance was still quite good.
With even, handsome features and a tall, straight posture, he looked every bit the successful businessman—especially now that he dressed more formally for work.
If he stayed still, you’d never know about his leg.
"Well, we’ll see. Honestly, I’m not even sure I want to remarry. It’s just that—"
Fu Yanju trailed off, unable to continue.
It’s just that—she couldn’t keep living at her little brother and his wife’s place forever, could she?
Though she was happy living with Su He and the others, Fu Yanju knew she shouldn’t keep imposing on their family.
So, after much hesitation, she had chosen Yu Xu.
When Su He stepped outside, she saw Fu Tinghua had already finished eating and was standing in the living room, seemingly waiting for her.
"Going back?" Su He asked as she approached.
"Yeah, let’s go. Let’s get Zai Zai and Niu Niu home," Fu Tinghua said, taking Su He’s hand as they headed out.
"Zai Zai, Niu Niu! Time to go home!" Su He stood at the Fu family’s doorstep, yelling toward the field by the house.
The wheat had already been harvested, leaving the fields empty.
Children were running around, playing and laughing, making the place lively.
Zai Zai, somewhat bored with the younger kids, quickly tugged Niu Niu’s hand upon hearing Su He’s call. "Come on, Mom wants us home for naptime."
Niu Niu pouted and glanced at Ya Ya, with clear reluctance.
"Then you can play here by yourself. I'm going to find Mom and Dad," Zai Zai said and took off without waiting.
Seeing that her brother didn’t even wait for her, Niu Niu flared up in frustration.
Her brother had been so annoying lately, always picking on her.
"Brother, wait for me!" Niu Niu gave up on playing—she wanted to go find her parents.
The siblings raced after each other toward Su He and Fu Tinghua.
Watching such a lively scene, Su He couldn’t help but murmur wistfully to Fu Tinghua, "What a shame we don’t have a camera to capture this moment."
Fu Tinghua lifted his gaze and held Su He’s gaze for a beat before saying, "The hospital has one. If you want, I can apply to borrow it for a day."
"Hmm?" Su He looked up at him, her face lighting up.
"Can we really borrow it? Won’t we catch flak if they find out it’s for personal use?" she asked worriedly.
Hearing her words, Fu Tinghua’s usually stern face involuntarily twitched slightly, and then the corners of his lips curled into a faint, barely-there smile.
He was typically reserved and unsmiling, radiating quiet aloofness, like a snow lotus standing atop a high mountain—untouchable and unapproachable.
But at this moment, when that smile quietly bloomed, it was like a golden ray of sunlight breaking through the clouds on a bitterly cold winter day—brilliant, dazzling, and incredibly warm.
Su He had been watching him, her gaze following the subtle shifts in his expression.
When she saw that smile spread across his face, her breath caught, and for a moment, she forgot to breathe. She simply stared at him, entranced, as if the entire world had narrowed down to just this man and his breathtaking smile.
"Mom, brother is bullying me!"
Suddenly, Niu Niu’s voice jolted Su He back to reality.
As if realizing something, she shot Fu Tinghua a glare—this man, distracting her in broad daylight.
Fu Tinghua blinked, feigning innocence, confused by Su He’s sudden glare.
But his eyes were filled with amusement, clearly aware that Su He had been mesmerized by his face and why she had glared at him.
"What’s wrong, sweetheart? How did brother bully you?" Su He scooped up the pouting Niu Niu and asked with a smile.
As she spoke, she reached out with her free hand to pat her son’s head, comforting him.
Honestly, though the two children were twins, born mere moments apart, Zai Zai was way more grown-up than Niu Niu.
Because of this, he was always expected to give in to his sister in many things at home.
Su He didn’t know if Zai Zai ever felt wronged, but it broke her heart to see him always being so responsible and taking care of his sister.
But with two children in a family, keeping things fair was tough.
Su He had never shown favoritism, but Niu Niu stuck to her like glue—whenever she got tired from walking or missed her mom, she would whine to be carried.
Zai Zai, however, never acted like that. He always did everything himself and even helped his sister when their parents were busy.
Su He and Fu Tinghua thought it was good that their son was so self-sufficient so young, but they also worried that Zai Zai might think they played favorites and was just acting mature just to cope.
Su He felt that she needed to find some time to have a proper talk with Zai Zai.
"Brother was running ahead earlier, and he ignored me when I asked him to wait," Niu Niu complained.
Su He gently pinched Niu Niu's cheek and said softly, "Brother runs faster than you, so just do your best to keep up. If you can't, then just follow along at your own pace. You shouldn't get angry over something like this, okay?"
Niu Niu pouted and nodded reluctantly.
But earlier, her brother had been teasing her like she was a dog.
Every time she was about to catch up, he would immediately run faster again.
However, Niu Niu didn’t mention this to Su He.
Mainly because she didn’t know how to put it into words.
Fu Tinghua stood nearby, gave his son a look as he teased his little sister, then took Zai Zai's hand and said, "Let's go home."
Zai zai is so mean 😂
