    Chapter 15: Identity

Levimo, having somewhat regained his strength under advanced healing magic, shakily stood up. Pushing aside the demons in front of him, he bowed slightly towards Aruda and spoke with a polite tone laced with respect, "Lord Aruda, did the commotion in this forest disturb you?"

Aruda chuckled, "I've come to fetch my great-grandson."

Great-grandson?!! The surrounding demons widened their eyes in astonishment. They had never heard of Aruda having any descendants. Where did this great-grandson suddenly come from?

Aruda paid no attention to the demons and examined Wen Ying’s body as if they didn’t exist, running her hands from top to bottom. With his body being touched by the crowd, Wen Ying dug his toes into the ground, “Grandma, I’m not really hurt.”

Amidst the awkwardness, Wen Ying was also pondering something – did he still have a chance to run rampant in the demon world?

When that succubus Essence heard him mention Aruda, his expression had also been odd, as if she was very fearful. Today, these demons were no different. Upon seeing Aruda, they seemed to have had their necks choked, abruptly silencing their voices.

As a second-generation rich kid, Wen Ying had attended a private school in the human world. There would always be a few people who, seeing that he was weak and easy to bully, would pick on him. One day, it was someone who confessed to the class belle and got rejected, only to find out that the belle liked Wen Ying, drawing unwanted attention. The next day, it was a troublemaker from the neighboring class who disliked Wen Ying's pretty face. And the day after, it was the school bully who felt that Wen Ying hadn't greeted them properly and was unhappy about it.

It was as if misfortune had descended from the sky. Wen Ying couldn't fight back, so he ignored the fights in the woods and decisively went home to report. Then, those people's parents would force them to apologize to him because his father was the CEO of the Wen Corporation, his mother was a famous director, and his uncles and aunts were also not to be trifled with.

Ultimately, it was because Wen Ying was physically weak. His family had kept his information hidden from the public since he was young, fearing that he might get kidnapped and end up dead due to his already poor health. Thus, Wen Ying had always lived a low-profile life, so much so that even other rich kids of his age didn't know his background.

On this trip to the Demon Realm, he didn't need to worry about going missing at all. Apart from his family, no outsiders would search for his existence.

After thoroughly sizing up Wen Ying, Aruda finally felt relieved.

A demon emerged from the forest nearby. As Wen Ying was pondering over Aruda’s status in the Demon Realm, he happened to glance at Beros.

Berros strolled out with an effortless gait. His handsome face was adorned with a pair of crimson eyes that exuded malevolence, capable of scaring children with just a casual glance. His semi-long, raven-black curly hair fluttered gently in the breeze – that might be the only soft spot about him.

Upon seeing Berros, Levimo's expression clearly soured. The memory of Berros kicking him resurfaced, causing him excruciating pain. He was barely standing, still illuminated by the glow of high-level healing magic.

Wen Ying glanced at Levimo's trembling body and his pale, ashen face, on the verge of fainting. He couldn't help but think that demons in the Demon Realm were incredibly resilient. They had a high tolerance for pain, able to stand and speak even in such conditions. The same went for the tiger demon earlier.

As Berros approached, Wen Ying also moved step by step to Aruda's side.

Halfway through, Wen Ying realized something was off. Aruda was here; he should observe the situation. So, he took another step forward, making direct eye contact with Berros.

Berros ignored Wen Ying's subtle movement and merely nodded at Aruda.

Aruda walked over with a smile, taking Berros' hand and patting it affectionately.

Wen Ying was pondering about Aruda's status in the Demon Realm when he suddenly heard her say, "Aren't you always competing to be number one? This time, you're lagging behind. Look at the scorecard on my precious great-grandson's waist; it's several times more than yours."

Beros looked at the scorecard hanging from Wen Ying’s waist.

Wen Ying stared at Aruda in disbelief, his eyes widening. Aruda chuckled and continued addressing the increasingly displeased Beros, “In the future, get along well in school and don’t always look down on others. It might come back to bite you.”

Aruda’s words were loaded with meaning, but they left Wen Ying feeling terrified. He looked at Beros, whose blood-red eyes were also fixed on him. As Wen Ying watched, Beros stuck out his tongue and revealed his sharp canines when he opened his mouth. He licked his fangs and replied to Aruda, “Alright.”

The overwhelming demonic aura and menacing threat made Wen Ying feel like he was suffocating. If not for the numerous demons present, he would have pressed Aruda's shoulder and asked if she had a problem with him. It was clear that Aruda's words had provoked this arrogant demon.

Aruda, pleased with Beros's response, beamed and pulled Wen Ying, who stood beside her, to stand next to Beros. “Young people should hang out together.”

Forced to stand beside Beros, Wen Ying felt the pressure from the towering demon’s figure. He glanced down at the demon’s hand. The fingers were slightly curved, with long, slender nails painted black, giving an eerie vibe. Veins protruded from the back of the hand, and the entire hand was large, reminiscent of a canine’s claws.

An elderly, white-haired demon standing by hesitated several times, anxious to interject. Levimo, supported by others, spoke weakly, "Lyd, the Second Prince has awakened the Blue Flame."

Gasps echoed as this news was no less shocking than Aruda's appearance. The surrounding demons shifted their attention, straining their ears to listen to Levimo.

Even the apathetic Wen Ying, curious, leaned in to listen.

"I saw it with my own eyes. His Azure Flame transformed into a dragon. If not for him, Lilith and I might have perished," Levimo said, pausing for a moment as he looked at Wen Ying, seemingly wanting to say something but ultimately deciding against it and speaking of other matters instead.

The elderly devil with streaks of white in his hair was somewhat incredulous. "But back then, his measured magic power was very low, and he didn't inherit the Black Dragon Clan's innate skill, Azure Dragon Breath!"

The devils from the Heath family conversed, while whispers could be heard from the surrounding crowd.

Beros lowered his head, looking down at Wen Ying standing beside him. His red eyes narrowed slightly, a hint of arrogance and disdain showing, but it wasn't just a hint – he had always been like that.

"What kind of devil are you?"

Wen Ying replied, "A Mirror Devil."

"A... Mirror Devil?" Beros's expression turned odd as he looked at Aruda.

Aruda nodded. "He's a child of the Mirror Devil clan, under my guardianship for a friend for a period of time."

The Mirror Devils were now infamous in the demon world as a weak clan, but Beros also understood why Wen Ying possessed his flames – they were copied.

Just as Beros had begun to take an interest in observing Wen Ying, he lost all interest in him, as he felt no more interest in ants on the side of the road.

Mirror Demons can replicate the magic of other demons, but it's rather useless since the replicated magic only possesses a fraction of its original power.

Moreover, the Mirror Demon race has low magic power. There's no point in replicating low-level magic, and they're unable to copy high-level ones. Even if they manage to duplicate some unique spells, their weak magic strength places them at the bottom tier in combat.

Aside from their inadequate magic power, the Mirror Demons also lack physical strength. They have nothing to boast about, neither in magic nor physique, which is why they bear the label of trash in the Realm of Devils.

Some Mirror Demons can't even defeat Intermediate Demons, truly disgracing the status of High Demons.

Beros had no interest in weak demons; he valued power over appearance when it came to assessing them.

Silently, Wen Ying moved closer to Aruda, distancing himself from this arrogant and disrespectful devil.

More demons emerged from the forest, most of them injured, some lightly, others severely. As these young devils appeared, the attending demon doctors outside rushed to treat them.

A portion of the demons went into the forest for rescue missions, bringing out quite a number of young devils as well.

Wen Ying noticed that some demons were holding notebooks, jotting down the number of score cards on the departing devils.

He wasn't in a hurry to leave since those record-keepers hadn't arrived yet.

The gray-haired old demon returned with a group of demons, saying, "We apologize for our haste earlier. Thank you for bringing Young Master Levimo out. The poison in his body can't wait; it might become more challenging to treat if we delay any longer. This is the token of the His family. As long as you have it, we will do our utmost within our capabilities to assist you."

Wen Ying took the item, which turned out to be a ring. He smiled at the elder. "It was my duty."

"Miss Lilith!" A demon in the crowd exclaimed in delight. The demons around Wen Ying surged towards that direction like a tide, only to leave just as quickly.

Wen Ying looked over. Among the demons, he saw the handsome young demon who had cast the green flame dragon spell. He averted his gaze and whispered to Aruda, "Grandma, about what happened in the forest today..." The Overlord's eldest son had tormented his younger brother, but it was unclear if he intended to kill or injure him. Would the incident be investigated thoroughly, revealing the eldest prince as the mastermind?

Aruda replied, "It won't affect the exam results."

That wasn't what Wen Ying wanted to ask, but he opened his mouth, realizing that Aruda likely knew what he was thinking.

"In the Demon Realm, the weak are devoured by the strong," Aruda said softly.

Wen Ying was taken aback, pondering for a few seconds before understanding dawned on him. Goosebumps rose on his arms.

"So don't worry," Aruda continued. "If anyone bullies you, come find me. Grandma may not have much, but I have plenty of poisons. I'm just waiting for a demon to help me test them out."

Wen Ying: “…” He looked around and, as expected, there was a vacuum zone around Aruda. Strangely, he felt relieved.
