    Chapter 49: Kiss

With Wen Ying's numerous reminders and even her personal supervision over Aruda's cooking, the dinner was finally free of any suspicious ingredients. After finishing his meal, Beros left. Aruda said he was going to mess with some magical beasts, leaving Wen Ying hoping that he wouldn't mess with him.

Speaking of magical beasts, after dinner, Wen Ying went upstairs to apply nutrient fluid on the white egg. When she came back down, under Aruda's expectant gaze, she took out her phone to show Wen Ying her chat history with Wen Dingjue.

There wasn't much, just a few mundane sentences like entries in a diary, updating Wen Dingjue about Wen Ying's situation. Aruda didn't hide anything; she handed her phone over to Wen Ying openly for him to read their conversation.

The flames of Wen Ying's excitement were somewhat extinguished by the chat logs. His great-grandfather seemed to still be in his rebellious phase, filled with a teenage angst. It wasn't easy to become a Demon King, nor was it simple to revive their family. After all, their catering company in the human world had already been quite successful, which could also be considered a form of revival.

Wen Ying also learned that after returning to the human world, Wen Dingjue had hidden like a homeless person for a long time before finally returning home just a few days ago. He went to crowded places to absorb "human scents" to dispel the suspicions of exorcists. Recently, he couldn't sleep well at night, waking up at the slightest sound, ready to jump out the window to escape.

Wen Ying: "..." Suddenly, he felt that the demon world wasn't so bad. An elder from the wealthiest family, who had always lived comfortably, actually had to sleep in a bridge tunnel. How pitiful.

He had a teleportation scroll to return to the human world. If, after a year, there really were demons trying to kill him and he couldn't escape, he would use the last teleportation scroll. But now, he was a bit depressed. Looking at his great-grandfather's experience, Wen Ying feared that as soon as he returned to the human world, he would be surrounded by exorcists and made into a specimen.

"Wisdom Grandmother," Wen Ying said softly, "with you here, I don't think any demon would dare to really harm me, right?"

Aruda reassured him, "Don't worry. I'm researching resurrection forbidden spells. That skeleton in the coffin is an example, although it's a failed attempt and incomplete. With one trial behind me, I'll be closer to success for the second one."

Wen Ying's eyelids twitched persistently, not finding any comfort in the words.

"Is there anything you want to say to your great-grandfather?" Aluda took the phone, as in the Demon Realm, only the owner of the phone could use it; different magical powers wouldn't be accepted by the device.

After some thought, Wen Ying curved his eyes and said, "Please tell my great-grandfather that I'm ranked first here and doing pretty well. Also, I'm starting a business, so they can understand the treachery of human nature."

Aluda sent these messages and patiently asked, "Anything else?"

There were many things he wanted to say, but when it came to having Aluda type them out and send them, there didn't seem to be much. A few sentences seemed to sum it all up. Wen Ying shook his head, then added after some thought, "Great-Grandma, you mentioned before that His Majesty the Devil went to the Human Realm to investigate how exorcists accept demons, right? What was the result?"

    He felt anxious inside.

Aluda pondered for a moment. "Well, it's a bit complicated and involves something from long ago."

The light in Wen Ying's eyes dimmed.

"Don't be too disappointed. There might be a pleasant surprise," Aluda winked at Wen Ying playfully, but Wen Ying only felt a tingling sensation on his scalp. Aluda's surprises usually had more shock than delight.

...So what did Aluda mean? Wen Ying racked his brains for half a day but still couldn't figure it out. He just felt that he might have a chance to go to the Human Realm.

Outside, the howls of magical beasts echoed incessantly, louder than usual. Berros was still causing a ruckus in the forest. Wen Ying sat at his desk, gazing out the window. The moon in the Demon Realm was similar to that in the Human Realm, but the stars were crimson. The environment in the Demon Realm seemed much better, allowing one to see countless stars.

Taking advantage of his current inspiration and feelings, Wen Ying raised his finger and sketched the shape of a card in mid-air.

A full moon was depicted at the top, with three howling-headed hounds below. Black flames engulfed the entire surface of the card, even overflowing beyond its borders and burning the text on the skill bar.

This was a card with tangible warmth. When it was completed, he saw it burning with black flames. Amidst the fire, the freshly-born card's edges shimmered with a metallic luster, thicker than the previous three grades of cards.

    SSR "Inferno (Canine Form)."

Finally, it was done. Wen Ying picked up the card in his hand, examining it carefully. Its weight was different from other cards, giving a solid feel. The surface seemed coated with a layer of metal, akin to the difference between a standard and deluxe edition.

It was no longer in cartoonish style but proportional. Looking at the three-headed hound on the card, its ferocious beast heads were intimidating and fierce, with scarlet eyes gazing outward. Despite being a drawing, it appeared lifelike.

The dog on the card looked menacing. As Wen Ying stared at the card, he recalled the cute, Q-version three-headed hound doll he had placed in his closet. It was the only surviving limited-edition toy he had brought from the Human Realm.

Thankfully, he had stored that doll in the closet. Otherwise, if Berros had come into his room today and seen the three-headed hound doll on his bed... Just the thought made Wen Ying feel embarrassed to the point of suffocation. He stowed the card away in his spatial bracelet and walked over to the closet, opening the door to retrieve the doll inside.

The noise outside grew louder, and Beros was still hunting for beasts to vent his frustrations. Some unfortunate beasts must have crossed paths with him. Wen Ying held the doll and walked to the window, locking eyes with someone outside. Acting faster than his thoughts, he opened the drawer under the desk and tossed the doll inside, slamming it shut with a "bang."

Beros climbed in through the window, casually scanning the room. "What are you hiding?"

"Why didn't you use the door? Why did you climb in through the window?" Wen Ying's heart pounded like a drum, recalling the first time he met that low-level demon who had also entered through a window. Did demons have a preference for climbing through windows?

Beros' gaze turned sharp, focusing on the drawer under the desk. "I was about to leave when I suddenly remembered not seeing that doll on your bed, which contradicts what you said." That's why he came back to investigate. Lately, his behavior and thoughts were vastly different from before. Beros still suspected that the doll was problematic.

Wen Ying had mentioned placing the doll on his bed, but it wasn't there. It dawned on him belatedly.

    "Move aside."

Wen Ying stood in front of the desk, looking up with his hands raised in front of his chest. "Why are you so concerned about that doll?"

Without a word, Beros forcefully pushed Wen Ying aside. The latter leaned into the force and moved to the side, watching as Beros pulled the doll out of the drawer. His toes dug into the floor as if they could excavate a three-bedroom apartment.

Beros meticulously examined the doll, repeatedly confirming that there were no lingering magical residues and that it was indeed just an ordinary doll. He tilted his head in suspicion, then furrowed his brows in confusion. It didn't make sense.

Wen Ying snatched the doll back from Beros and hid it behind his back. "It's just a doll. Why are you examining it so closely?"

Wen Ying placed the doll back in the cabinet and said, "I'm quite self-aware. Phileas' words make sense, so I've put it away, not on the bed... So you came back specially to see this doll?"

    Wen Ying was confused.

"Phileas..." Beros's face darkened even more, his cold expression enough to scare any child.

"If you have nothing else to do," Wen Ying blinked, "then fulfill what you promised me that day."

Beros tilted his head. "What did I promise you?"

Wen Ying curved his lips, his voice soft, "Didn't you say that day that you could do anything Scarlet can? I happen to be in the mood right now, let's give it a try."

It was still a bit of a pity... cough, he couldn't sink to such depths. Although after Aruda's explanation, he knew that demons were equivalent to eighteen years old when they were ninety, their bodies were mostly developed, and considered adults, the demon race, who valued strength, defined reaching full power at one hundred as true adulthood.

So, it wouldn't be a crime for him to do something to Beros, but drugging him would definitely be a crime.

Wen Ying pulled Beros to sit by the bed and took out the flow magic created with Scarlet's magic. He infused it with his own magic power and demonstrated it to Beros.

When Beros saw the arrogant Scarlet's shadow use the flow of water to form the words "baby, do your best", his pupils trembled. Feeling that Wen Ying was watching him, Beros stiffly turned his neck. The white demon smiled at him, his silver eyes reflecting only his image, as if he was his entire world.

Behind the white demon, his bat wings seemed to unfold uncontrollably, blocking the light from the bulb above and casting a massive shadow over him.

Boros was overwhelmed with thoughts of why he had returned. He even shifted back in his seat, his cold face masking his inner turmoil as he sternly declared, "What just happened is impossible."

Wen Ying's smile faded slightly as he spoke softly, "But you were so resolute back then. Surely you won't go back on your word?"

Looking at the white demon pressing down on him, Boros sensed that the creature had discarded its holiness, revealing a pure malevolence. His smile and gentle voice were mere disguises, and the wings spreading behind him resembled an enormous spider web.

Despite his rapid heartbeat, Boros felt strangely sluggish, not offended but unusually compliant under the demon's domination. The thrill from his recent battle with a magical beast stirred once more, intensifying beyond before.

His gaze was captivated by the silver-white eyes peering down at him, bright and shimmering with wicked amusement, exuding extreme confidence.

Wen Ying aimed to instill fear in these demons by exerting his dominance, his excitement reaching a fever pitch. Pressing Boros back onto the bed, he appeared like a villain preying on an innocent, his hand resting on the mattress beside Boros' face. His eyes gleamed provocatively, and the intensity of his arousal triggered his demonic nature. Through Aruda's secret techniques, his demonic bloodline was easily aroused, igniting his primal instincts.

Uncontrollable magic energy seeped out of Wen Ying's body, causing his silver-white hair to float in the air. Boros' own magic was drawn out, and their powers clashed, stirring the air in the room.

Yielding to his instincts, Boros raised his hand, encircling the slender waist of the demon above him. It was firm, without excess flesh or softness, but possessed a certain elasticity of toned muscles.

Wen Ying lowered his gaze, "You can't renege on what you promised me, or I'll have Great-Grandma settle the score with you. Hugging my waist won't save you."

Boros suddenly exerted force in his waist, lifting his upper body upward. Using the pivot at Wen Ying's waist, he leaned against him and lifted his head to brush his lips lightly against Wen Ying's.

Wen Ying: "..." He touched his lips in a daze, staring in shock at Boros whose eyes seemed blurred with intoxication. It couldn't be, just to avoid making the card for him, he was willing to use his charm?

Too shocked, Wen Ying raised his hand high and tapped the other's face, not too hard, but not too light either.

Boros snapped back to reality, blinking his bewildered and shocked eyes as they stared at each other uncertainly.

Wen Ying asked, "...Does it hurt?"

    Boros nodded.

Wen Ying murmured, "It wasn't a dream."

Boros' face darkened. He pushed away the white devil on top of him and stood up to smooth out the wrinkles on his clothes. Still unable to believe it, he covered his mouth, "He hit me?!"

Wen Ying guiltily put his hands behind his back. His own mind had also cleared up significantly. He said awkwardly, "You wouldn't sell yourself just to avoid cooperating with me on that card, would you?"

The raging magic around Boros gave Wen Ying his answer. As he watched the book on the desk flipping its pages wildly and various items falling from the table and cabinets, Wen Ying said with a pained heart, "Try to hold back a bit, there are many things in my room."

In response to Wen Ying's question, Beros threw a punch, which Wen Ying narrowly evaded by brushing past the wind generated by the fist. Beros then launched a flying knee, but Wen Ying slapped the ground, somersaulting in mid-air to dodge it and grabbing Beros' calf, pulling him out the window before jumping out himself.

The two demons continued their fierce battle in the castle's small garden. In close combat, Wen Ying struggled to avoid Beros' attacks. Eventually, he found an opportunity to create distance between them, darting backward with incredible speed, as if gliding on water, while activating multiple cards from his spatial storage, layering them one after another.

Seizing the moment between the card attacks, Wen Ying swiftly summoned his clone, the Magic Mirror, placing it in front of him during the smoke explosion's temporary blindness. As Beros flew past, the mirror reflected his image. Moving the mirror aside, Wen Ying dodged Beros' assault, stepping back to reveal the Beros puppet trapped inside the mirror.

Beros threw a flaming palm at the mirror, causing it to dissipate, but the puppet had already been released. His eyes narrowed as he tried to destroy the identical puppet, but halfway through, his vision blurred.

Wen Ying broke into a sweat. It was difficult to pull Beros' consciousness over, and he failed. He could only restrain Beros for a second. After that brief pause, Beros destroyed the puppet and charged towards Wen Ying.

Defensive cards flew from Wen Ying's pocket, blocking Beros, followed by several "Impregnable Fortress" cards placed on himself. Neither side had dealt significant damage yet, but Wen Ying's arm trembled slightly from Beros' impact. Even though his body had been strengthened, if it were his previous weak state, he might have been temporarily paralyzed or incapacitated, unable to muster strength for some time.

Noticing the magical plants behind him, Wen Ying lured Beros towards them. When Beros approached the blooming magical plants, Wen Ying cast a simple wind spell, stirring up pollen.

As Beros inhaled some pollen, he felt a slight numbing sensation. Realizing the danger, he immediately retreated from the flower cluster.

Suddenly, thick vines shot out from the side with a rustling sound, wrapping around the two battling young demons. Initially, they entangled specific parts of their bodies, then countless vines of various sizes swarmed, cocooning them into two seed-like forms, leaving only their heads exposed.

Aruda sauntered over, and Wen Ying’s mind cleared. He immediately called out pitifully, “Grandma.”
